  • He was so handsome...So charming..His music will alwyas live long in our hearts, so will his presence..A legend.

  • Elvis was A True Professional when handling Political Questions.

His response from that Journalist about Conscription and War was spot on.

I wish Elvis would have visited Australia when Promoters were very close to doing a deal with Him in 1974.

Doesn't Matter. When I go to Heaven The 1st Thing on My To Do List is to meet Elvis.

  • When you watch this video, notice Elvis' answer when the reporter asked him a question about the war protesters. In my opinion, all "entertainers" should follow Elvis' lead!!!!!

  • Elvis was an intelligent man. Elvis was NOT stoned in this video. What you saw was Elvis' natural charm and great personality. I Love Elvis.

  • How do you know what he was? He looks fine to me!

  • Taking poison to numb the brain isn't cool.

  • He was very lucid in regard to answering the questions despite being stoned.

  • I wish I could have known Elvis. Poor guy was stones out of his freaking mind.

  • hahaha he looks high as hell

  • One word - STUNNER

  • @thehitchrules you said it

  • lol at the begining he says "I plead innocent of all charges"

  • He is to die for. Totally sober oo

  • Seems like a nice guy.

  • Not many men can pull off a powder blue suit AND a cape, Elvis could.

  • who is this guy and whats up with that hair cut? did someone take a chainsaw to it?

  • @flycentro123 you have got to be sarcastic there...

  • If you can't see the humanity in this, how a legend appears so humble, then you are blind RIP Elvis

  • add-on: To add what i said in a previous statement. Even VIP's had to get their tickets by standing in line. No special reservations like nowadays where the best seats are reserved for VIP's and other stars. Paul Simon,Led Zeppelin,David Bowie etc who wanted to see Elvis were for example no seated in the frontrow's but somewhere in the balcony of the Garden. Nowadays something unthinkable with all these special arrangements for VIP's and realitystars.

  • Remember this is 1972 a time when you wanted to see a concert you had to wait in line to get a ticket! No ticketmaster no internet. Just go stand and wait in line to get your ticket. When it was known Elvis was comming to NYC it was the hottest ticket in town and everyone wanted to get a ticket. And remember: No VIP special treats like nowadays for those VIP's who want to attend a show and get all free things. Col Tom Parker made EVERYBODY! PAY for his ticket if he wanted to see Elvis!

  • Elvis, man. James Dean, Elvis & Natalie Wood may have left the image behind but not the life. . . I never saw the bodies, and neither did you-

  • Too bad for us big mouth entertainers today won't shut up.

  • Elvis had too much style man !

  • It's Sebastian Haff!

  • I love this interview.

    Thank you.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • he wasn't satans minnion i tell ya!

  • He seems sad when they ask him about Priscilla =/

  • i freakin love his outfit XD

  • Hey..we are still talking about a guy that died in the 70's...nuff said..

  • Elvis obviously trusted Col. Tom Parker and felt he needed him as a Manager. I don't think Elvis felt he could promote himself even though he did it anyway with his natural talent and charisma all the time!

  • Best thing he could've done was punch Parker in the face and run for it.

  • no one will ever replace the King

  • i have the whole interview on tape somewhere !! ill try and upload it sometime soon ! i think its about 15 mins or so !!!!

  • mister elvis presley. the most overrated entertainer of all time

  • @tallpaulbenedict He was an original. Your opinion is well, not with the mainstream.

  • I saw this when it was originally on tv. It is still great. What a looker.

  • @javva33 Agree. He was a stunner. You can't take your eyes off that face. Beautiful.

  • A performer keeping his views to himself and respecting the rights of others to make theirs public....Ahead of his time

  • The best ever

  • Elvis was pure class. I wish modern celebrities could just say "You know what? I'm just an entertainer and I'll keep my opinions on hot button topics to myself." People often miss what a great sense of humor he had too, on and off the stage. RIP.

  • In his prime he is the most beautiful man i have ever seen . Stunning .

  • he spoiled his handsomeness and stardom with his way of life

  • Elvis was a virile song-and-dance man once , but all them drugs made him into something repulsive in my eyes.

  • i love elvis, the person and song......and still beutiful............

but he was very dificult person. but he was king

  • did he say suge knight?

  • Did anyone else notice at 0:29 when Elvis said "Closeness" they zoomed in?

  • Justin Bieber

  • vanilla ice

  • We fight for Elvis. what can I say? He's the king.

  • Wow, seriously? is there not one video on anything I can go to where the comments aren't filled with pointless arguing? Come on guys, shut the hell up.

  • @RedgameZZ shut up brainiac

  • Btw, there were only 4 billion people in the world in the 70`ies, and most of the buyers of records were living in western countries. And they did not buy 2- 300 records at that time. Much less in the 50`ies when Elvis had his high. Yet Elvis sold over 500 mill before he died. MJ was on his peak in the 80`ies and early 90`ies. That period was the best selling period of albums of all times. And eastern countries was also in the marked.

  • The Mercury Ballroom, where Elvis and his dad, Vernon, are holding this June 9, 1972 press conference still stands today. We offer a brief look at it on our channel so check out!

  • For a look at the room TODAY where Elvis is giving this press conference in the New York Hilton, please go to our channel, CBSEye, right now!

  • He was a sweetheart. He likely did not want to comment on the war because he had been in the service himself. But I think ANYONE has the right to free speech and opinions. Whoever thinks not is being ridiculous. You are free to go stand on a soapbox and say what you want. Why should an artist / entertainer be any different ?! He was a citizen.

  • Elvis, claimed sales: 1 billion

Michael Jackson, claimed sales: 750 millions

I rest my case your honor.

  • @TheDJGrandPa well he's been dead for over 30 years so his numbers had time to grow.

  • see...this video clearly shows that Elvis was Indian...

  • Back in 1973, over 1billion people watched this man perform, so I guess it doesn't matter what anyone says about Elvis. He was the greatest performer, kind and generous.

  • HE IS SO FAT!! Wtf! Is this what America calls "handsome"?? Wtf? I'd rather think Michael Jackson is more attractive than this Oompa Loompa 200 lbs looking figure!

  • @crazy4corbinbleux Everything in that comment indicates extreme ignorance bordering on outright stupidity on your part. I feel too sorry for you to be pissed off at how annoying you are.

  • @scraps992 He is anything BUT attractive. How do people actually look at him and think he is the "King"? There are 1000x better looking men out there. I just don't get it! Overweight (CHECK) Oompa Loompa Face (CHECK) Orange Skin (CHECK). Wtf.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux

1). The way he looks there was the style back then (not necessarily the suit though

2.) He was overweight in the last two years of his life. Long after this interview, so I don't know where you're getting the fat thing.

3.) Watch a video of him in his younger years.

    4.) I'm a straight man and I can tell that he's exceptionally good-looking.

  • @scraps992 Lolol more like OBESE in the last years of his life. A whopping 260 lbs and couldn't even move on stage anymore without loosing his breath. Hahahah. Not-so-hot Elvis anymore huh?

  • @crazy4corbinbleux That stick up your ass concerning Elvis is indicating.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux Yeah he was gaining wait here..but in his younger days he was good looking..and im 100 % straight guy but still think he was a lookin cat...If you think michael jackson is attractive lol you are one blind SOB lol

  • @lsunationalchamps08 Lol, cut the crap. I'm not blind, I thought Michael Jackson looked WAY better than this oompa loompa looking figure. If you compare both of them during their last years, sorry, i'd rather be attracted to a skinny person rather than an obese, orange, bloated, sweating man.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux haha Michael Jackson wore a shit ton of make-up and still looked like a horse/ clown...he spent his whole life trying to be a white woman..

  • @lsunationalchamps08 Lol, ok, and you're telling me nobody in the music industry wears make-up? This guy here is probably caked with foundation and who-knows-what-- it's PART OF THE BUSINESS. Second.. wow, i've never heard "horse" before, that's an interesting one. To me, he looked very attractive along with his style and mannerisms. If someone like him were walking down the street everybody would automatically turn their heads like "wow". Don't act like he looked like a piece of trash.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux First off all we are not talking about other celebrities. we are comparing looks between Elvis and MJ...MJ probably had 50 plastic surgeries because he was so self conscious and it just made him look worse.

  • @lsunationalchamps08 Who said we were talking about other celebrities? I'm talking about the ENTERTAINMENT WORLD. Anyone who is in that business wears make-up. Even MEN. Don't make it sound like he was the only one who did so. Lol 50? You're funny. That would be one for every year of his life, huh? What an Idiot. Everyone in Hollywood does plastic surgery. Perhaps if Elvis had some done on his belly, or had a Bypass surgery, it would've done him well.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux Elvis was bigger the last years of his life which made his appearance look less appealing...but MJ looked horrible his whole damn life....When he was black he was ugly and when he was white people just made fun of him worse...He had no disease that made him white..he was so desperate to be white...explain his hair please...He had a damn afro when he was young..all of a sudden he turns white then his hair is like a white person...HAHA I have respect for MJ as a preformer

  • @crazy4corbinbleux but MJ is one of the ugliest celebrities ever

  • @lsunationalchamps08 Oh pleaseee. I'm talking about in his prime. In his prime, everyone was dying for him! How can anyone resist the Thriller video? Yeah things got carried away after the Vitiligo and nose jobs but at-least he stayed FIT. And was actually having a COMEBACK before he died. Unlike Elvis who was too busy sitting on the toilet doing who knows what.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux Wow I understand you are and MJ..and I don't have anything against him professionally ..But if we are talking about each of them in their primes..Elvis was the biggest thing in the world and still is to alot of people..MJ on the other hand was forgotten about in a few months and is rarely mentioned now...So even if we are talking about in their prime, Elvis was way better looking ( I can't belive I'm defending how a guy looks lol)

  • @lsunationalchamps08 LOL are you kidding me right now? "was forgotten about in a few months".. The dude died over 2 years ago and people are STILL talking about him everyday on the news. Cut the crap. You sure know the day he died, he got more press coverage than any other thing for the next year. No other celebrity's death was as dramatic as Michael Jacksons, NOT even Elvis. We were talking about looks here, but if you're about to bring Michael Jackson's professional career here, bring it on!

  • @crazy4corbinbleux what news do you watch? because the MJ saga was finished over a year ago...Yeah I saw it after he died..All about him and his joke of a dad..and his joke family

  • @lsunationalchamps08 I just told you what news I watch, idiot. That shouldn't even mean anything, b/c the dude was EVERYWHERE.My aunt who visited Africa a few months back even said his name was everywhere. They dont even know english, but they know the words of Billie Jean. Michael Jackson was/is/ &will always be the most famous person on this planet. U cant argue that. I don't even know why we're talking about this, when the original conversation was how much of a Oompa Loompa this guy looks like!

  • @crazy4corbinbleux you can't compare one with the other ------ both were mega-famous and both were big music influences

  • @crazy4corbinbleux The months after Elvis died, the sold appr. 200 mill albums. The months after MJ died, he sold 35 mill albums/downloads. Elvis has sold twice as many records as MJ and is still extremely well known around the world. Ask a 8 year old here in Norway if they have heard about Elvis, and most of them will say yes. Elvis is an icon matched by nobody. If MJ has the same "afterlife" as Elvis in 30 years, then I will be surprised.

  • @Norwegian733 HAHAHHA, are you joking me right now? Did you know Michael Jackson's networth was 1.5 BILLION like a year after his death? Elvis and The Beatles have been dead how many decades and they haven't made that much. Michael Jackson, ONE year after his death made 1.5 billion, another record breaker to go into his 22 Guiness Book Of World Records, but who's counting right? Cut the crap.

  • Comment removed

  • @Norwegian733 Hahaha, and I can't help but laugh at your little remark "ask a 8 year old if they have heard of Elvis, and most of them will say yes." .. ASK A 2 YEAR OLD BABY OR A 99 YEAR OLD WOMAN AND THEY WILL KNOW WHO MICHAEL JACKSON IS. That was probably the weakest arguement you could've brought up, because everybody knows Michael Jackson influenced the younger generations all the way to the oldest generations. Every 2nd grader has danced to Thriller at school, but to "HoundDog"? Yeah right

  • @crazy4corbinbleux What a clown you are. Elvis started it all and was the beginning of modern music and style.

Without him, MJ would probably just be another child abuser in jail. MJ was nothing but a copy cat. He dreamed of getting the same status as Elvis. Maybe he even comitted suicide to become as iconic as him.

MJ fans are not even invited to this table. Come back when MJ has sold as many albums as Elvis (twice as many as the glowed clown) and if he still is popular in over 30 years.

  • @Norwegian733 Elvis started it all? Oh really? Then tell me, what DID he start? Last time I checked, he didn't write ANY of his music. Blacks MADE his career. W/out their music and production, he would've been nothing. Oh wait, he still had the looks right? That's ALL he had to his name, but ironically by the end of his life he was a whopping 260 lbs.

2nd, please don't connect MJ's influences with Elvis. HA! MJ was actually a PIONEER, MADE dancemoves, music videos, STYLE, everything was iconic.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux How dumb are you? Blacks made his career?? Your not only dumb, but also pathetic (and black?).

Elvis started a new sound. He combined R&B, country, etc and made it shine. If you cant hear that, well the rest of the world does.

That tiny little 90 pounds wannabe MJ was nothing but a copycat. He even contacted the guy that made Elvis` suits after Elvis died and paid him to make him some cool stuff. COPYCAT!

  • @Norwegian733 Haha, i'm not dumb at all actually. I do my RESEARCH unlike you who is just rambling about how great your elvis is. His career STARTED when some Black producer found Elvis and was "eager to bring the sound of African-American music to a wider audience." He wasn't some1 who was doing music since he was born. MJ on the other hand, was a mega star at the age of FIVE. Someone like him was BORN to entertain& Quite frankly, IDGAF if he took Elvis' clothes, they sure looked better on him!

  • @crazy4corbinbleux I`m wonder if I should do the same as you. Find 10-12 MJ- videos and start critizising everything about the little clown MJ.

    No, I`m not that pathetic...

  • @crazy4corbinbleux - When research & gather your misinformation..are your eyes open? What Black producer? Give us a name. There aren't any crazy4 - Sam Phillips was his producer. Then at RCA Felton Jarvis. Black singers did not get much attention so Elvis basically HELPED them get noticed. MANY admit this in interviews. Your Michael Jackson didn't have to overcome the barriers Elvis had in the Eisenhower 50's. Wake up. Presley helped create a billion $ industry. U write on YouTube.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux

yes elvis did started and he was really talented and he made his career he wasnt born in to a famous or rich family he was poor but mj was born it to a famous family elvis was the only celebrity who had his styleI and could dance, I personally love both of them but i dont like people when they make fun of one of them because they were boths really talented thats why they are THE KINGS they boths where the same own music, own dance moves, own style and good people :)

  • @crazy4corbinbleux - Thriller -- wow that's original, considering it's based on The Night of the Living Dead. Elvis' died in the bathroom but NOT on the toilet. I was told by a reliable source Elvis' bathroom was like a huge master bedroom. Desk, chairs, TV & books. Elvis & MJ mined different audiences. Jackson was talented but did NOTHING revolutionary. He sang, he danced great. The era he performed in never challenged him. But the 1950's would have. Ask Chuck Berry. It wasn't easy for him.

  • @lastrada52 Sorry to the barrier of bad news pal, but I think it was confirmed decades ago your Elvis was found dead by his toilet nothing you can do to CHANGE that lmao. It's funny what fans try to come up with.

"The era he performed in never challenged him"??LMFAO.. ARE YOU CRAZY? Get out of here! You don't even deserve to be talking right now! Did you not know how difficult it was to make it in the industry as an African American in the 60s, 70s, even 80s? He wasn't a white boy like Elvis

  • @crazy4corbinbleux - Are we going to have a civil conversation or are you going to continue with the lame abbreviations? How hard it was for African-Americans to make it in the 60's & 70's? The Supremes, Temptations, Otis Redding, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Wilson Pickett, the Jackson 5, Chubby Checker -- they didn't have any issues carving out a career pal. Freaking MOTOWN existed by then and you're calling me crazy? It's always a racist thing. Nat King Cole & Johnny Mathis faired well too.

  • @lastrada52 WHAT AN IDIOT. Do you think it was easy for The Supremes, The Temptations, or THE JACKSONS coming out in the 60s (yes, thats right, I said 60s because Michael was making music from the 60s all the way to 2000s-5 DECADES!)

Well, newsflash, it WASN'T. What an ignorant, racist person you are sitting here claiming that those people made it without difficulty. I wish I could give you a whole BOOK on the discrimination blacks faced in the industry! It's overwhelming to type in 1 comment!

  • @crazy4corbinbleux - Just by the way you respond to me is enough proof that I am not the idiot here pal. ALL of those black artists I mentioned worked for a black music publisher and record company and they ALL became very wealthy. However, I would turn my attention to Diana Ross and her greed as she left the other two Supremes in the poor house. I don't see any white faces in that board room pal. As for your other comments -- won't waste my time with you on those. You were so eloquent.

  • @lastrada52 Hahaha, the way i'm responding to you is the way I would respond to any idiot on the street replying to me the way you are. Complete DISBELIEF, that would result in laughter. I cannot believe we have come to a day in age where white folks as yourself can't admit to the difficult pasts our former Black musicians had to face. This is amazing.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux - Crazy4 -- EVERYBODY has difficultly in entertainment -- not just Blacks. Wake up. Nat King Cole got an NBC prime time show in the early 60's by whites who BELIEVED in him. R U going to give them credit? John Hammond discovered & got contracts for Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Count Basie, Duke Ellington & countless other blacks in an era where they DID have a hard time. There are whites that broke down this issue but you just dismiss it all. It offends me.

  • @lastrada52 So you're telling me right now, back in the 60s, a white artist coming out had the same exact opportunities, the same acceptance as a black musician coming out? Forget this Michael Jackson vs Elvis discussion-- YOU my friend, aren't even aware of the harsh realities that surrounded people of color in the past! Either you aren't knowledgeable about it, or you are simply aware of the fact--but don't wish to acknowledge it! And Boy do I wish it's the first option!

  • @crazy4corbinbleux - If what you say's true -- shouldn't be ANY successful Black recording artists. But that's not true is it? Benny Goodman had blacks in his 40's band - Teddy Wilson, Billie Holiday. Despite drugs she lived a good life as a singer. Motown, Stax, Atlantic - tons of hits. James Brown was BIG; owned radio stations too. Music business is not an easy nut to crack for anyone crazy4. I'm respecting you here but you insult me. I'm not the SOB you think I am. So chill out.

  • @lastrada52 What you say is not true either......And Elvis was just a copycate. I do not know why yall call him the king. Watch clips of Jackie Wilson singing lonely teardrops. Elvis copied his singing style and moves. We get tired of being copied all the time.

  • @mspinkytee - Funny you mention Jackie Wilson considering Jackie was one of Elvis' biggest admirers & personal friend. You say Elvis stole I say Elvis was inspired. Jackie was called by Blacks -- "The Black Elvis," not the other way around. You get tired of being copied? If not for Elvis no one would have HEARD "your" music. He brought it to the attention of the audience that BOUGHT records & legitimzied it for white people. He took "your" music & made it BIG business for YOU.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux - Another thing -- do YOU have any idea how many white artists/groups NEVER make it? You don't hear them blaming it on their whiteness. Talent, LOTS of LUCK is needed and that goes for Elvis too. Know the story? It's the damn receptionist at Sun who called him back & brought him to the attention of Sam Phillips. So you never know who your "angel" is going to be. Know who made Louis Armstrong profitable? Joe Glaser. White Jew. They worked TOGETHER for 1 color: green.

  • @crazy4corbinbleux - By the way, nothing I post is racist. You're using the term simply because you disagree. You think I'm white & it makes you sound superior. It doesn't. My black friends would laugh at you. Now, yeah...I can't prove I have black friends. But if I was as bad a racist as you say -- then don't call me brother OK. Next topic. (By the way, I'm not angry at you crazy4...because we're really only talking about music here, RIGHT? You seem to be venting rather than commenting.)

  • @crazy4corbinbleux - One more thing. Elvis was in his bathroom dead. Yes. He was fully dressed when they found him. There were no initial reports about being on a toilet taking a dump. But if you prefer to believe that I really don't care. How many people do you think had access to the room where he died anyway? You think it was Grand Central Station? Reporters were there. On a toilet off a toilet -- still sold a billion records worldwide and that's better than most of us can boast about.

  • @lastrada52 Hahahahah and then you still continue talking about whether or not he was found dead on his toilet LMFAOO. Move on brother. Next topic. Who the eff cares? He was in his bathroom doing who knows what.

  • Elvis is the KIng!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fake

  • @howne44: I know that because priscilla made a BIG DEAL out of the fact that she wanted to be fucked and he said NO! Again, if pricialla soley would have wrote: "Elvis and I did not have sex when I was a minor..." than one could be sceptic, BUT priscialla dediacted huge parts in her books to the fact how much it bothered her that she had to wait so long for the sex with him. Also dont forget, Priscilla is throuout the book extremely critical of Elvis, so why would she skip that if is happened?

  • @howne44: Elvis started DATING Priscilla when she was 14! He did not fuck her then, she married him in 1967 when she was 21/22 and she was a still a virgin back then! Dont believe it, read Priscillas books "Elvis & me" or "Elvis Intime". There is no law in the USA which says that it is illegal to date a minor. So, why again would Elvis be sent to jail? Pls answer that question!

  • @SupernaturalXtreme As if Priscilla couldn't lie in her book. No one knows if they did it or not except Priscilla and Elvis. But just the mere though of dating a 14 year old is creepy and perverted.

  • @MississippiRed1: I guess you never heard of "in dubio pro reo"! U probaly just dont like elvis and thats why u r trolling around here, but whenever someone accuses you, u should be jailed, even if you say you did not do it, after all you could be lying right? U r a hypocrite and a troll! BTW priscialla was very critical in her books about elvis, why would she lie, after all she would have been the victim, right? the truth is, she wrote that she wanted sex and elvis wanted to wait!!!

  • best sense of humour

  • I feel so sorry for him.. When they asked about his wife you could see the emotion in his eyes... As well as when he said he missed the music/or performing. The manager... They just cared about money, not about him. He didn't want to do those shitty films... You can see that too, they only allowed him to do what they thought would make more money for them. It's a shame.

  • @Nezri1

I really don't see how you could feel sorry for a talentless drug-addicted womanizing racist.

  • @MississippiRed1 It sounds like you are talking about mike jackson who died at the hands of a black doctor. oh wait mike wasnt a womenizer he was a little boy izer. mike had to pay a white women to have his kids . stop being so angry rerd. GOD BLESS

  • @scvbtr2 MJ was never convicted of any wrong-doing. Even the accusers' parents said that they were out for his money. Elvis, on the other hand, started dating Priscilla when she was 16. Just stating facts bruh.

  • @MississippiRed1 she lived with his father till she was of age. he was never even charged , MJwas charged many times. He paid a few off because they had "DNA" and he new he couldn't win. you say elvis was drug addicted womanizing racist. he was never charged with drug abuse. He was not charged with rape or any sex crime. drug-addicted he was but yet you defend MJ who died of a drug overdose as elvis did. Stop playing the race card for all the trouble in the black pop[ulation. God made us all

  • @scvbtr2 Whether or not she lived with his father is beside the point. He was still DATING her = pedophile. And what do my arguments have to do with race?

  • @MississippiRed1 you say mj was not a pedophile he was charged many many times and paid the boys family off. Elvis was never ever charged and you find him guilty. MJ did admet to sharing his bed with these boys. DO you think he was liying. you defend MJ's drug use but accuse Elvis of being a drug head, which he was. you say Elvis was a racist, i say you play the race card well. YOUsay he stole from black artists, yet he was never charged on any of this. you say bb king lied. you lose

  • @scvbtr2 MJ paid the families to avoid a trial. I never charged, nor found, Elvis guilty. He was, however, dating a 16 year old girl. I know about MJ sharing his bed, but he was never convicted of any wrong-doing. I never defended MJ's drug use. Elvis' was once quoted as saying "the only thing a Black man can do for me is shine my shoes". Elvis stole from Black artist. Everything from the tremble in his lip to the swivel in his hip he stole from Black artists. I never said BB lied.

  • In regards to BB King, I said artists will cover for other artists, so they would not get black-balled.

  • @MississippiRed1 Iwill go on record as saying Michael Jackson was one of the greatest entertainers of all time. God made him special. in regards to his privite life, it's none of my business. i can honostly say there is not a racist bone in my body. Iwould not want to meet my maker with that on my record. I repent for any statements I made about MR. JACKSON that may have offended anyone. I here and now ask my LORD to forgive me for judging this man. GOD BLESS.

  • @scvbtr2 Nothing you said regarding MJ personallu offended me. I just don't like when people, to this day, a very average entertainer to the greatest entertainer that ever walked the Earth.

  • @MississippiRed1 you ask what do my arguments have to do with race? The answer is you brought race into the mix, i was not suprised. we will have to agree to disagree. have a nice nite and GOD bless.

  • @MississippiRed1: you know I dont think MJ did anything either, so I amwith you, but the lies about elcis are thuggish and comepletely untrue and like any other leftists racecard pulling thug you cant come with any evidence. So again, what makes u think elvis was a racist??? Answer u nutbag!

  • @MississippiRed1: Racists? Can you come up with some evidence for that claimof yours you lefitst thug? BTW is he was a racists how come that Mohammad Ali said: "Elvis you are the greatest", James Brown said: "I will see elvis, my soulbrother in heaven" and so on? Mohammed Ali got a boxing Robe from Elvis which he artuall wore on a fight in 1974, Ali gave Elvis boxingglove in return with the signature "Elvis you are the greates, from Mohammed Ali" etc etc. Now where r ur evidence for the contary?

  • @MississippiRed1: one more thing; if I were you I would be a little more careful about calling elvis a racists, because besides the fact that this is a lie, u must know that elvis was not even 100& white, he had from both parents native american blood. Further more, Elvis film "Flaming Star" is an antiracist movie, its about him being a "half breed", read the plot on IMDB. That film was actually banned in South Africa, why? it was against racism, but yet u sum bag have to spread ur lies!

  • @MississippiRed1: About u calling Elvis talentless; if he was talentless how come that the Elvis sold more records than anybody else? He sold over 1.5 BILLION, thats more than the beatles, more than MJ and anybody else. Are u saying that all those ppl (from all races) in the world who bought those records totally missed that he was talentless and it is all a big conspiracy? It bet u believe that, conspiracy fantatsies are very common amongst ppl like u. 1 more thing, U R the racist here!

  • @uverdaaeiro,

    "But Elvis created something new..."

Yeah, from the many songs he stole from Black artists.

  • @MississippiRed1 The music did not belong to "black artist".

Where is it written that anyone owns any music?

    He did not steal anything?

  • @EddieEstes

Do some research. He stole "Hound Dog" from Big Mama Thorton. He stole "Shake Rattle and Roll" from Big Joe Turner. They were the original artists of their respective songs. Yet Elvis never gave them credit or royalties.

  • @MississippiRed1 You obviously do not understand the music business. Shake Rattle and Roll was written by Jesse Stone. He would have gotten royalties. Big Joe turner recorded it. So did Bill Haley and Elvis. Big Joe Turner was not entitled to royalties or credit. Hound Dog was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.. Same as the other song. The songwriters got royalties.

  • Respond to this video... He took the music to another place. Just like all musicians.

  • @EddieEstes

What place did he take it? He had a terrible voice. He couldn't act. And he had a prop guitar.

  • @MississippiRed1 Acting he was below average and he was a basic guitarist. But you are in the minority I am afriad on Elvis' voice. He had a great voice. I suspect his race is the problem with you.

  • @EddieEstes

First off, How do you know I'm not white myself? When, in my previous posts, did I mention my race? I don't recall any.

Secondly, there are many great white artists, most of whom have legit talent. Elvis, on the other hand, was as over-rated as anyone I can think of. His vocal range was very limited. If you wanna hear someone with vocal talent, I invite you to check out a few Sam Cooke songs on You Tube.

  • @MississippiRed1 You can be white or black and still have to put race into everything. Like I said Elvis had many shortcomings but vocal ability was not one of them. I love Sam Cooke. But he was not part of the discussion.

Your issue with Elvis originally had to do with you thinking he screwed over black artists. That is incorrect.

  • @EddieEstes I know that Sam Cooke was not part of the original discussion, but I just felt the need to add him in order to give you and others a barometer to compare his vocal style vs. Elvis'.

Some people feel that Elvis had a style that would knock your sox off. In my humble opinion I feel otherwise. I feel that if you wanted to talk about vocality than Sam Cooke would be someone you validly reference. I believe he had better range and control than Elvis.

  • Before Elvis, there was NOTHING.

No Beatles, no Michael Jackson NOTHING

  • @gusyyy23 Before Elvis there were a bunch of blues and jazz greats that shaped music for decades, and still inspire today's musicians.

  • @uverdadeiro

    But Elvis created something new...

  • awww amazing!!!!!!!

  • thanks

  • john lennon in 1972 looked old enuff to be elvis's dad..but he was younger then presley...

  • Now if this man doesn't look like a King then who does? Elvis was at his peak at the Garden. New York came to bury him, but loved him to death. They buried his comic with whose dumb, politically incorrect jokes drew the wrath of the crowd waiting for its King. "I am one, you are 20,000," he countered and meekly withdrew. Elvis broke the house record for that time in '72, four straight sell out shows! RCA released two of the four on CD, one a week later, the other, 25 years later. Go figure.

  • Aww. :)

  • Is this is what people are referring to when they say "Fat Elvis"? He doesnt look fat to me at all.

  • @VASINGER Yeah, I don`t get it, where did 'Fat Elvis' come from? Are they trying to say he gained weight? :S

  • @VASINGER

The public in general was so hard on him at times. Before they started filming Elvis On Tour, the producers attended some shows & THEY mentioned in 1972 for Christ's sake that he looked "a bit bloated!"

But no, the term, which I hate the most out of all those types of references is "fat Elvis." But he in reality only started to gain weight noticeably at the beginning of 1975. (Which by the way was mainly due to water retention as a result of a twisted colon & certain meds.)

  • I'd just as soon keep my own personal views to myself WOW and could these celebrities today take lessons from this guy ,he really was something else

  • Such a likeable person!

  • This guy had it all ! -----Plus , something else !! Cannot pertain in explanation as to what that [ something else ] was . But it was wonderful !!! He epitomises the saying -------A total one off!!!! and --- Thanks for the memories .

  • Love his face right after they asked the last question. XD

  • A true legend.

  • What year was this?

  • @Glat64 ...1972...Madison Square Garden press conference

  • I think the comments on this video are the most accurate and postivie I've ever read! Cheers to ya'll !!

  • "I just try to keep my own personal views about that to myself, cuz I'm just an entertainer and I-I'd rather not say."

Try to find a celebrity who would say that nowadays.

  • "Oh I dont know what makes 'em think that- I mean this gold belt"

    GOD DANG HES SO CUTE!

Why wasnt I born in the 50s? For god sakes im 12, and I wish I was born in that generation!

  • Alot of todays celebrities could take a lesson from the world's greatest celebrity ever and keep their mouths shut on their opinions of the world. They should entertain, and keep their opinions outta their performances. The King was always a step ahead...
