Guys at the end of the day he is using what is given to him as a predator, if your moaning about being alien and getting killed by the plasma caster of disc, then you a bad player, because any decent alien would sneak behind their target and execute them, not run in as if your some god. @GenisisPredator All too true. Alien is my best but when a Predator dominates me its usually because I'm doing something wrong. Not that I can't take a Predator in a fight. I've handled a lot of heavy spammers, light noobs and real fighting preds with an alien, but sometimes it just takes simple stealth tactics what I'm given to my advantage. Its a shame how other players don't realize that. (Though I wish the preds were a little less bulky. not too much though)

I don't like playing as the predator, and when I do, I generally use the disc or the wrist blades for the most part. This video is over a year old, but I'd be pissed if I had been playing against this guy. Disc and plasma spammers are lame, because, as an alien, you can't get up close to them quick enough before you get a disc in the dome, and it really sucks. However.. I've learned to not complain because we all do noobish tactics whether we notice or not.

@GamerG0d1337 cloaked or not, the aliens can see a predator running or stable in a spot. Unlike human vision, its plain useless to use a cloak for an alien adversary.
Can I ask: before the full game was released, there was a demo. But after they released it officially, the demo was removed from Steam, so I can just buy it now. But can you still play the demo or it was removed also?
The best way to use the spear is to use a heavy attack and then follow up with the spear because once you land the heavy most of the time your opponent is going to assume your next attack will be a light attack so they block while they are blocking you can spear them
try using the comby blade, it might take a while 2 get it back after uv just threw it so u dont want 1 use it more than 2 times in a fight with 3, but if theyre like an alien and theyre right in frount of u, use it and it will save ur ass
whenever i play i always get afraid as the marine because i feel underpowered. whenever i play as an alien i feel underpowered, and not fear inducing, and i never feel like a badass as a predator. in other words, none of the races appeal to me because my favorite character, the predator makes you really work for kills, the aliens make you need to hunt in packs, and the demo doesnt let you really do that. the preds need to do hit and run, and multiplayer degrades the stealth aspect.
@MrDreamblade if you are alien you need to be like a bug thad like dark spaces alien also so a ambush behind a wall whit light bad idea but when you are surrounded by wals and it's dark you got a good change
Its a pitty that you arent allowed to play the demo if your german... your not allowed to download it and even if you do by getting a cooky of the us steamstore the will lock down your account. it realy sucks balls big time.

@mcohunter1 Marine could take Scoped rifle and 1-shot predator aiming for head. Pulse rifle will do also. The thing that you need to play this game well is to be really good at spotting enemies and prediction. Then it becomes fair enough.

But see people spam the disk instead of fighting, why bother with counters when you can just toss a disk and get a 1-shot kill? really unbalences the game for aliens and marines. i think it should have like a distance activation damage, at close range its a light attack, at medium a heavy, at very far a instant kill. balance!

The Predators are very cheap and unfair with their discs. In the full game, people are always choose Predators as much as they can and then starting a waiting line for them and their team mates to pick up a disc blade. Which is really annoying.
@SynopticCam While a predator has the disc out he can still use all of his melee capabilities, including blocking. The only disadvantage of the disc I've seen is that the laser stays on, giving his position away. But it's incredibly hard to get to that position to kill him when all he has to do is look at you and you're suddenly cut in half.
if the game was more like the movies their would be no pred attacking other pred's,in my oppinion its what ruins the experience of being the predator.they should fight alongside you and not be against you..lets face it how often do you run into another pred anyway ? just my oppinion though game is great apart from that :P
unless there are some campaign Pred on Pred battles Im not aware of, I assume your talking about the deathmatch mode. Thats the only mode in which the same speicies battle each other. I also think deathmatch is lame and an aweful choice to demo the game with.
Predators in general are cheap and every noob gets kills they dont deserve as one. For instance plasma caster is autotarget, 1 shot kill. Preds can spam light attacks without blocking and win a melee fight with alien because they don't have any real consequence to being countered and can take more damage. One of the few things I dislike about this game. Every species should be skillbased and balanced, pred simply is not.
Cool story but the predator is meant to be strongest in a straight up engagement. Aliens aren't meant to win in a frontal assault. Their weapons are actually hard to use against an agile opponent.

Well played. The Predator isn't easy to play as but I do feel his heavy attack is too quick and the disc is too easily spammed. Good advice too, I switch vision modes regularly and rarely use stealth/trophy kills since it usually results in your won death moments later.
Great Vid and thanks for the tips. Just curious what mouse sensitivity your using?? I tried quite a wide range but I'm still zooming way to fast when I trying to track a target.
I don't think the disc is imba. Aliens can often doge it by running and Marines by sidestepping.
Also a Pred can be easy to kill if he A) doesn't watch his back, Xenos love to kill uncareful Preds, or B) charges Marines = shotty to the face.
Always keep in mind that everyone is still a noob and it's not final, so it might be re-balanced a bit. Let's see how it works out once we all've got more skill.
The flamer sems to be pretty weak in the demo. Maybe it works a bit better with secondary fire and then igniting the stuff. I just aviod it and use a pulse rifle.
Meh just shows how OP the disc is. Whenever he actually misses he usually gets this ass kicked if it doesn't come back an save him cause he just button mashes. An the 2 Pred cap doesn't mean jack in DM. Just means when you don't get your Pred slot your going to trail in points when you have to play a race that isn't OP.

They are all balanced in deatmatch with multiple participants. If you try to do 1 vs 1s the balance is non existent. Try fighting a decent predator as an alien and you will cry tears of blood.
Decent in this case = corner camping fully armed and with visor set to Xenomorph. Uuuuuugh.

No. Coming from someone who plays and enjoys all three species. Of course skill is the biggest factor, however, at the base predators are a little overpowered, nothing to dislike the game over. I must say though, they can get some pretty cheap, undeserved kills from ranged weapons as well.
Only undeserving kill I can imagine is the disc? The disc goes forward and comes back. Being close to the pred makes you vulnerable to this. And dying from a returning disk isn't undeserving as that is simply how the disk works. Being too close during a returning disk is the victims fault.
Uhm, I'm late to the conversation but the disc isn't one throw one direction. Its not a boomerang. If your an Alien there is not a damn way you could get to the predator if he has a disk. If you point your laser at something while the disk is still out it will go towards the laser pointer so whatever you look at will get eviscerated. Its actually incredibly cheap. So if your an alien and you go towards a Predator he'll look at you and even if he misses he can still aim it towards you.
As this guy noted, you're not supposed to be in front of the predator long enough for him to throw the disc at you anyway. You try to get the drop on him from behind.
The conventional wisdom seems to be that if the predator is facing you and is at close-range, he can utterly kick your ass.
lol , your telling me I can get away from a disk in .5 seconds? Thats how long it takes to throw the disk. Also, that shouldn't be the only way to kill a predator, just stealth kills? Thats bs. Predators rape in hand to hand and can kill almost anything with the disk and really, if you come across a skilled predator and a skilled alien and they duke it out the Predator will almost always win. Also, the Homing Heavy that the Predator has doesn't help.
@SavageHunter64 More like 2 seconds, alien can easily get away. marine should pick him up via motion tracker unless he's camping even then you can see the red laser and hear the throw sound. And there was a new patch reducing disk damage for all the butthurt players anyway.
@SavageHunter64 If the alien player was skilled, he'd have stealth killed the predator. that's the main point of aliens, - Move fast - Stick to anything - Ambush.
@CommissarGears The disc is very powerful, but it can be countered quite easily with dodges. And I believe it was you with the return disc suggestion. Nice one there ;)
@Twycross Marine sniper rifle can see cloaked preds fine. And the cloak gives off a weird sheen every now and then. It does make things safer, but they wouldn't get many kills that way.
@SynopticCam True enough as I found out tonight. I find that the predator is best as an indirect hunter. Lay mines, use the throwing projectiles and run away to heal yourself when needed.
I play as an alien and yer, you would have to be Fn stupid if youd take a pred on head first, and i saw some of those aliens didnt focus leap, i get most of my kills from that, aswell as why didnt they run away. o well nice game play. hope i get to vs you some day
I was thinking of buying this, but decided against it after these vids. Just doesn't appeal to me. Plus the matchmaking was getting on my nerves when i played.
Remember this is only death match, the most simple of gameplay modes, things will get more intense with the other modes and allowing 18 players. Dedicated servers are supposed to be supported with the full game.

Predators in general are cheap and every noob gets kills they dont deserve as one. For instance plasma caster is autotarget, 1 shot kill. Preds can spam light attacks without blocking and win a melee fight with alien because they don't have any real consequence to being countered and can take more damage. One of the few things I dislike about this game. Every species should be skillbased and balanced, pred simply is not.

Cool story but the predator is meant to be strongest in a straight up engagement. Aliens aren't meant to win in a frontal assault. Their weapons are actually hard to use against an agile opponent.

the plasma caster is a reason why predator is cheap in multiplayer. predator is the easiest species to use in MP because of the special weapons.

Well played. The Predator isn't easy to play as but I do feel his heavy attack is too quick and the disc is too easily spammed. Good advice too, I switch vision modes regularly and rarely use stealth/trophy kills since it usually results in your won death moments later.

I don't think the disc is imba. Aliens can often doge it by running and Marines by sidestepping.
Also a Pred can be easy to kill if he A) doesn't watch his back, Xenos love to kill uncareful Preds, or B) charges Marines = shotty to the face.
Always keep in mind that everyone is still a noob and it's not final, so it might be re-balanced a bit. Let's see how it works out once we all've got more skill.
PS: The flamethrower is complete shite, though.

The flamer sems to be pretty weak in the demo. Maybe it works a bit better with secondary fire and then igniting the stuff. I just aviod it and use a pulse rifle.

Meh just shows how OP the disc is. Whenever he actually misses he usually gets this ass kicked if it doesn't come back an save him cause he just button mashes. An the 2 Pred cap doesn't mean jack in DM. Just means when you don't get your Pred slot your going to trail in points when you have to play a race that isn't OP.

sometimes i try to find a place where the enemy is coming by frequesly and i wait with my plasma caster and blast one time, cloak and GTFO! Come back a moment later and stealth kill someone

They are all balanced in deatmatch with multiple participants. If you try to do 1 vs 1s the balance is non existent. Try fighting a decent predator as an alien and you will cry tears of blood.
Decent in this case = corner camping fully armed and with visor set to Xenomorph. Uuuuuugh.
But then again. This game was hardly meant for 1 vs 1s.

No. Coming from someone who plays and enjoys all three species. Of course skill is the biggest factor, however, at the base predators are a little overpowered, nothing to dislike the game over. I must say though, they can get some pretty cheap, undeserved kills from ranged weapons as well.

Only undeserving kill I can imagine is the disc? The disc goes forward and comes back. Being close to the pred makes you vulnerable to this. And dying from a returning disk isn't undeserving as that is simply how the disk works. Being too close during a returning disk is the victims fault.

Uhm, I'm late to the conversation but the disc isn't one throw one direction. Its not a boomerang. If your an Alien there is not a damn way you could get to the predator if he has a disk. If you point your laser at something while the disk is still out it will go towards the laser pointer so whatever you look at will get eviscerated. Its actually incredibly cheap. So if your an alien and you go towards a Predator he'll look at you and even if he misses he can still aim it towards you.

As this guy noted, you're not supposed to be in front of the predator long enough for him to throw the disc at you anyway. You try to get the drop on him from behind.
The conventional wisdom seems to be that if the predator is facing you and is at close-range, he can utterly kick your ass.

lol , your telling me I can get away from a disk in .5 seconds? Thats how long it takes to throw the disk. Also, that shouldn't be the only way to kill a predator, just stealth kills? Thats bs. Predators rape in hand to hand and can kill almost anything with the disk and really, if you come across a skilled predator and a skilled alien and they duke it out the Predator will almost always win. Also, the Homing Heavy that the Predator has doesn't help.

@Twycross Marine sniper rifle can see cloaked preds fine. And the cloak gives off a weird sheen every now and then. It does make things safer, but they wouldn't get many kills that way.

I play as an alien and yer, you would have to be Fn stupid if youd take a pred on head first, and i saw some of those aliens didnt focus leap, i get most of my kills from that, aswell as why didnt they run away. o well nice game play. hope i get to vs you some day

Remember this is only death match, the most simple of gameplay modes, things will get more intense with the other modes and allowing 18 players. Dedicated servers are supposed to be supported with the full game.
