Sometimes I think people never even knew the word "twilight" before the series came out. Let me explain, a twilight is "the soft diffused light occurring when the sun is just below the horizon, esp following a sunset." The book actually has nothing to do with twilight and neither do the other books have anything to do with their titles.

This song brings me such nostalgia… because I had this CD when I was in 5th grade- at the beginning of the new millennium. I asked my niece what she thought of when she heard this song, and she said she imagines herself watching horses run by on a ranch and she’s watching them as the sun sets. I told her I can imagine myself sitting on the beach at Twilight watching orange waves crash. I love Vanessa’s songs.

To me, this is related to the trilogy "His Dark Materials", for I listened to it as I read the books. It's quite normal that the emotion in the song would make you think of something you love, especially a book. Of course it's not related to the Twilight series, but I guess it's normal that people who love it think of it as they listen to this song, and try to find a link between the two, or apply the meaning of the song to the books...

At least that's what I got out of it. There's a lot of room for interpretation because of the vague and nearly cryptic lyrics, but it seems to be something along those lines. If she were talking about something as uplifting as love, don't you think it wouldn't be such a bittersweet song? I can see why all the Twilight fans think this song is about the book but it isn't.The lyrics hold an entirely different meaning than the books do.Twilight means "dim or diffused light" she's talking about not being able to see the truth clearly.And when she says "but I've seen twilight", she's saying that she has realized that she hasn't been able to see clearly. She's been lied to and now she knows. When she says "never cease to fly if held down" she's saying she's been caged and now shes free

At least that's what I got out of it. There's a lot of room for interpretation because of the vague and nearly cryptic lyrics, but it seems to be something along those lines. If she were talking about something as uplifting as love, don't you think it wouldn't be such a bittersweet song? Her voice is nearly tragic when she says the word 'twilight', it's fairly clear that if she's singing about a guy, she isn't in love with him like Bella was with your precious Edward.
