We all know how good this show is so I'm not gonna sing it any praises myself.

I will say one thing tho, all the shows I watched in spanish as a wee one I prefer without question over their english dubbed counterparts.

This however is the exception. John Hurt's voice man, cannot be beaten.

Jim Henson was ace when it came to puppetry and his stories, but there's another children's film from ages ago I'm trying to remember, I'm wondering if anyone here might know of it...the opening title was animated and the character used to sing,"I'm the storyteller and my stories must be told...and it went on...does anyone happen to know what I'm talking about? Also the stories were usually narrated by a female with a british accent or at some times a man..hope someone knows what I mean.

I think my favorites out of the Storyteller series are "Hans My Hedgehog," "The True Bride," and "The Soldier and Death." These stories (all of them,really) were so excellently scripted, cast and visually wonderful. And Miranda Richardson as the evil Queen/Witch--perfect!!

I loved this as a kid. ...the effects were great, even if they were executed in the 80s. I still havent forgotten the story where the traveller caught death and put it in a sack, then hung the sack on a tree! I hope they'll come out with a DVD set!
