  • @DeAnte85 Hoover was actually a decent human being, a humanitarian, and quite intelligent. If you rate presidents by their personal morals, he would be one of the top.

  • Even as the video says at its beginning (blue screen), I think the recording is of a conversation with Harry Truman. Hoover was still alive (died about a year later), but 30 years on like that -- after the world and the USA's place in it had both changed so very, very much -- could not have been meaningful, or maybe even safe, to consult. We're talking about possible nuclear war with the Soviets here -- a topic a 1950s president could address, but a 1930s president could not.

  • Time for some creamed corn, Herbert.

  • Hoover didnt even know what was going on he was so old by this time. Lol...

  • YEAH LETS ASK HOOVER, HE REALLY KICKED THE SHIT OUT OF THAT BONUS ARMY

  • The 2nd best president talking the 4th worst president I find that kind of weird, but I admire how Kennedy has respect for Hoover despite the fact Hoover was a bad president.

  • also, since it is relevant, hoover supported nixon when he ran for congress from california; nixon ran against jfk in 1960 but lost; hoover conferred with jfk after the election. what this tells me is that at the highest levels of government, in issues of immediate national security, there is little partisanship to be found. hoover was only snubbed by fdr, but we must recall that fdr was friendly with joseph stalin, so that may say everything.

  • It was solved. Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK, alone. All the rest of it is just urban myth and fastasy bullshit.

  • @proferic I didn't even think they made people like you anymore, hmm?

  • Like it or not, it says something that John F. Kennedy would keep Herbert Hoover posted on the situation in Cuba. Mr. Hoover was aware of what was happening at age 88.

Herbert Hoover's talents were better appreciated after 1945, especially with Presidents Truman and Kennedy. This is a valuable historical item! Thank you for sharing this with us!

  • I am sure Hoover had great oral skills.

  • Pipe down, you old fag.

  • never tell an old queen about going down on a pipe lol

  • You seem to know a lot about the Kennedy assassination. Well i think it`s time the american people was told who did it. It`s a disgrace that the assassination wasn`t solved. And by the way. Nobody has the right to kill the president of the united states of America. I was raised to salute the flag and respect my president. It`s a patriotic thing. Maybe you`re not a patriot, but i am!

  • @Enslaved10 It was solved. Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK, alone. All the rest of it is just urban myth and fastasy bullshit.

  • Kennedy is such a remarkable figure

  • It's interesting that he taled to Hoover and Truman and addressed them both as Mr President and when he talked to Eisenhower he called him General instead. I wonder if that was a preference of Ike or a dis to him from Kennedy. I really can't imagine the latter.

  • Ike preferred being called General as he identified himself more with the military than he did as a politician.

  • @doug12361

hoover may have preferred douglas macarther to eisenhower, its worth looking in to, not sure if youtube has any relevant videos about that or not.

  • I love how much respect Kennedy had for the former Presidents even calling Hoover who was President like 30 years before him and the rival party and still calls him "Mr.President."

  • @dcn8933

president hoover worked with joseph kennedy when the latter was an ambassador and at other times, he also worked with the sons of joseph--robert and john--prior to the 1960 election in attempts to streamline the executive branch...

  • @dcn8933 Yes, I agree. It shows a lot about his character.

  • In 1962 the only FPOTUS were Hoover, Truman and Eisenhower.

  • You cant blame it all on one person.

  • Until now, Former Presidents were held in high regard. Clinton even consulted with Nixon.

  • Most current former Presidents are cordial, and like one another. The Bush Family is very friendly with the Clintons, for example. Carter, though is disliked by both the Clintons and the Bushes.

  • President Carter and President Ford were great friends.

  • I think your plan to become a stand-up comedian has hit a few road bumps.

  • amazing kennedy personally called each living president to that point to keep them advised on the cuban crisis.....i'd like to get bush's call logs after 9/11...

  • Heh, good luck on that one.

  • Hoover sounds like the 'adults' from the Charlie Brown cartoons!

  • He was 90 by then, and he would be dead in a year.

  • Actually, two years. Kennedy would die before Hoover.

  • well seeing that there is only Jimmy Carter, his dad and Bubba, only a limited amount of advice he can rely on as far as former presidents

  • At the time of 9/11 both Ford and Reagan were still alive, though obviously Reagen was in no condition to talk on such matters.

  • Reagan was finally making sense

  • JFK tried to show respect to all the former presidents. Bush jr. could learn a lot about how a real man behaves from him. Of course, Bush jr. doesn't have the intellect. Poor slob.

  • @3theThird Did you recently see how it has been reported that GWB routinely called Clinton throughout his presidency?

  • @3theThird

YOU are the poor slob. Bush did what he had to do with the problems we had in this country at the time (and still have). He made tough decisions when the Democrats simply wanted to tuck tail and run. History remembers men who made tough decisions favorably......men who simply choose neutrality will go down as cowards.

  • @NickB1121

All the garbage you just wrote is irrelevant, the comment he made was that Bush has no respect for others, nothing about tough decisions..........

  • @toby099 I think its YOUR post that is irrelevant. Saying that Bush has no respect for others (when he does) is a lie. Making tough decisions to go into Afghanistan and Iraq to allow oppressed peoples a chance at freedom is indeed proof that he cares for other people. JFK, like Bush, was a strong advocate of freedom. Unlike our current President.

  • @NickB1121 Does Bush care that our nation is "broke" and that thousands of Iraqis/Afghans are dead and wounded;also that thousands of servicemembers are dead and wounded because we went to war in Iraq over lies and falsehoods? I believe not. He made the United States a big joke in the eyes of the world. He also made it(the US) into a big bully. Let the people of other nations take care of their own affairs. President Obama has more in common with Kennedy as Bush does with Hoover.

  • You dont know what your talking about. George Bush has a lot of respect for people, even those he disagrees with. A lot of presidents, including the current one, could learn from him.

  • @3theThird Al Gore was supposed to be President, not Bush Jr.!

  • @BlackThoughtChannel

Al Gore is a hypocrite's hypocrite. Look at the amount of green house gases his house produces (not to mention his SUV's, LIMO's and Jet flights).

    He is a fat joke.

  • George Bush always gave great respect to his predecessors.

  • Comment removed

  • @3theThird Unlike Bush, JFK was also one wrong word away from nuclear war. And how do you know what Bush did in private? Watching him on a spy cam?

  • @3theThird

You dont have the intellect either. You do realize that JFK and Bush both had very similar political beliefs in regards to the economy and national defense, don't you? JFK was a tax cutter. He believed in having a strong military. Bush is all of these also. Obama, however, is simply anti-anything-American. Poor slob.

  • @3theThird Actually, both H.W. Bush and W. Bush have been very respectful to current/former presidents, even those that followed them (and in Bush, Sr.'s case, beat him). Clinton has also been respectful of current/former presidents. Ditto Ford, Reagan, and Obama. The only recent president that has continually interfered and criticized the others, Republicans and Democrats, is Carter. Carter has made a pest of himself for every administration, which is why the other presidents can't stand him.

  • Hoover was older than Moses by then. He probably hung up the phone and was like "I think that was the gardner."
