  • Hello Icarusjazz i want to know how to connect my m-audio controller to use addictive drumms in sonar 7 and create my own beats thnx

  • this would make a great porn background music.

  • very good hand and finger movement ! you are talented !

  • dude we have the same midi controler/keyboard .What software are you using?

  • you got a little patience to learn how to play this ><

  • how can you like ''play'' drums on a keyboard?

  • That sounds very real, you should save up and buy the full version.

  • I just got an m audio ozone but since i have windows 2002 operating system i am not able to find the software to start using my synth...

I need help, where can I get the software.

    HELP!

  • Anyone got a spare key authorization code for this? :P

  • magix I found ran cakewalks virtual instruments for those learning as we all do if we love music. There are or were when I bought the virtual instruments there was the exact drums that we have seen here. Also three forms of strings in one instrument cello and vilolin, and another. Please excuse my spelling tired-also what you can call rhodes which synthesizes piano so you have a electric piano sound. Seems like very little at first, yet get a good daw and mix them they are awesome. DAW expert -

  • i think a trigger pad would do the job way better.

  • Hey, how limiting is the demo version of AD?

  • KING CHYLDZ DONTPLAY SPREADING LOVE ITS THE BROOKLYN WAY REALITY REACH OPEN THAT BOOK

  • you cant reach toms with your small keyboard haha

  • @KHbeatmaker The demo doesn't have toms.

  • Anyway to do this with a computer keyboard?

  • @x900lbGorillax try ableton live. but i can guarantee you it will suck. It will even suck worse if you aint got a ASIO sound card.

  • Find out I need those audio drivers. There hard to run too, Finally got it running with the driver and had no lag, but then the driver wouldnt let me use the speaker cause it said something using it but nothing was open. All up 6 hrs man of frustration and googling, still got to try and connect my drums yet and I got no sound again........Why cant they make it easy

  • I wished they made this software easier to use, I never used vst stuff before and it took me aaaages to work it out, just opening Addictive drummer was bloody hard, then I had no audio, then finally get audio it lags.

  • I have the same keyboard but i cant make it work with addictive drums, im using sonar 8. Any help??

  • damn u got looong way 2 go u ain even close

  • does addictive drums let you open Piano roll and manually and make your beat in teh software without the midi controler ?

  • LOL I DO THE SAME HAHAH!!!

    SO much fun :P

  • I cant get this to work ... It simply does not have any sound HELP!

  • man you are a iodiot do you not play music,is a track ....

  • talk English tunafish!! That is not a track......I have a Alesis Sr-18 and play with my fingers like this guy does but its structured better with the pads and I can tear it up with my fingers.

  • does anyone know if you can use the microkorg as a controller for addictive drums?

  • yes you can. I have it and i use it with reason 4

  • is that a preset? it sounds great

  • There's a cheaper option and it's just as good. Search "Drum Morph" and the video is by me.

  • how much did u pay for the keyboard

  • @aojibara its a midi keyboard..looks around $100

  • haha yea i always do that on garage band

  • man this drum set is pretty nice and thick. loving the thump and bottom of the kick. Ocean Way Drums doesn't seem to have that. So, i'll euither be getting AD or Superior Drummer 2.0. Thanks u helped me make this decision.

  • nice job dude, im trying to make drums to one of my songs on protules and the keyboard is annoying the shit out of me

  • woh, fast reply!!! thank you. i'll keep trying and hopefully i'll manage to adjust ton-tons among others...

  • Hi IcarusJazz, Nice Vid! I just got a controler keyboard (oxygen 8 V2) and i'm using sonar 8 and also addictive drums however i noted that you have managed to adjust the drum kit peaces on yr 25 key keyboard and i dont know how to do it, even using octvaves (lower/higher) the basis (kick, snare, hi-hat, tons, etc) are never together on mine, apreciate your help on that with a reply, vid or whatsoever is easier for you, thanks in advance!!!!!

  • It's the standard AD mapping--I just transposed the keyboard down two octaves or so.

  • @IcarusJazz

How did you transpose the keyboard down to those keys? I'm wanting to buy a keyboard for AD (I don't have enough patience for the piano roll) but I don't have the money for an 82-key midi keyboard. I'd be very appreciative if you could explain how you did this.

  • No drum sounds in the world compare to AD. Even the best of producers will tell you the only thing that challenges it's sound would be a real drum kit.

  • You haven't looked very far have you...

  • KITECH

  • I just got AD! Thanks for the sample, sealed the deal for me. Sound quality of drums are clearly higher than what pro tools came with stock-- light versions of BFD and Ez Drummer.

  • Hi!

soon I will use the Yamaha DD-65 drum pad and I want to know if I can use it with Addictive Drums ....

That is, each drum of the Yamaha DD-65 is assigned a different drummer from the Addictive Drums?

    Thank you.

  • I'm pretty sure you can do that! It's all about mapping the drums to the correct midi numbers and stuff- you should be able to find tutorials to this on the internet.

You'll need a device like the Presonus Firebox for Real-time no-latency triggering of VSTs from your drums, connected from your drum kit to your computer.

  • Can I use the M Audio Fast Track for the same thing?

  • I know you can use it with any MIDI device, i have it hooked up to my yamaha dtx express iii drum set. i just do the midi mapping on the drum module and it works great. if it has midi out, you are fine. may need a utility to do the midi mapping if your device does not do it and default does not work. it costs like 10 bux, free to try.

  • its amazing how you can play the drums so well on your keyboard..

i always find it hard playing the drums, but im fine with instruments..

  • its amazing how you have the dexterity to play that instrument on your controller...

  • slow mo

  • Does anybody know if you can hook this into a Roland TD9 ? I would love to hear this instead of what's in the Roland brain.

  • yeah you can

  • wow amazing !

  • can you help me out i create a new midi track in cubase then when i drag a drum loop in to thet track it jumps and makes a new track iv only ever used reason for drums and im new to this software

  • what do u use to connect your keyboard to your compuer? USB? will addictive drums take MIDI cables too?

  • The device I'm using in the video (M-Audio Ozone) uses USB. With my other MIDI keyboards I use standard 5-pin MIDI cables. It all depends on what sort of audio device you are using with your computer.

  • I THINK THERE IS A LATENCY PROBLEM.. If you have latency problem, maybe you want to try using asio4all if you are not using it yet or if you dont have a good sound card.. nice playing!

  • Actually it's just a problem aligning the audio and video track, since they were not recorded both using the same device.

  • @IcarusJazz do you absolutely need a keyboard to use addictive drums? or can you like use a computer keyboard or what?

  • @barret2378 same question here. do you need some other progs to start AD?

  • nice~

  • latency problems?

  • No, probably just trouble aligning the audio and video track in microsoft movie maker. :P

  • do i need a keyboard like this to use AD? (where did you download it btw)

  • He's using the M-Audio Ozone (25-key) and the demo download is in xlnaudio (dot) com

The actual thing costs about $249 USD. Crazy but way worth it

  • They reduced the lowest generally available price to $200 since you last checked. And Guitar Center has it on sale for $169 right now, which is why I just bought it. Massive rebate going from 250 to 169. I doubt the sale will last past September, FYI. And no, I don't work there.

  • i see youre using a relatively small keyboard. i have a keyboard with 15 keys, and cant seem to figure out how to assign the drum kit pieces within the 15 keys. any idea how you did this?

  • I just used the standard mapping of Addictive Drums. I also have a 61-key keyboard and two 88-key fully weighted keyboards for live shows.

  • Hey i know what you mean and what i struggled a bit to get it working but i managed a perfect solution:

LoopBe1 to create a virtual midi port

    and edrum midi mapper

in edrum midi mapper you put your input keyboard and the output to the virtual midi

then just chose the virtual midi in the addictive drums :P

if you are having trouble with latency use asio4all driver works on xp and vista

    good luck and good drummin

  • Do you use Cubase or is it protools?

  • Actually Sonar is my main DAW. I have used Protools and Logic for audio recording in the past, though.

  • can you explain briefly how you mapped you software to your roland keyboard?

  • Just MIDI In, that's all. The mapping is the default mapping layout for Addictive Drums.

  • holy man.. you can really play the key drums... You are good at doing the sensitive stuff that adds realism.. Amazing!

  • I WANT Addictive Drums SO BAD !!!!!!!!!!11

  • I have Ezdrummer (Rock, Cocktail, and Drumkit from Hell sets) and I love it but this is great, really its a toss up.

  • do you also use a midi board?

  • hard to imagine anything better than EZ drummer, but this is actually really good. the metal demo on the site is insane!

  • yeah!!!

  • my snare sounds like that

  • Dude you'd almost think thats a real kit.

  • pretty responsive sounds....are 'Addictive Drums' software you can buy to use with DAW's?...if so, how much do they generally go for?

  • addictive drums cost 130 dollars

  • please pm me where!

  • Anything is free if you illegal download it.

  • Dont be stupid... You'll D/lL something that will TOTALLY F-up your computer.!

    P2P= spyware, spam, & viruses...

    internet 101.

  • P2P != Spyware/Spam/Virus

    P2P + Idiot == Spyware/Spam/Virus

    Get the formula right.

  • Wut?

If you try to install P2P cracked audio apps as a policy, there is indeed, a good chance you are gonna get a trojan. also, good luck updating it. better to buy, that way they will actually stay in business and make more great drums.

  • Pirating FTW get them from a safe source and updating is not a problem

  • yea, say that now and watch what happens with the next update of your DA application and/or plug-in. pirating is like crack, you are hooked in and required to go back again and again just to keep things running. of course, if you are selling the stuff on Craigslist, you would never tell people that.

  • woow!! where do you learn that percussion skills? i hope i could make things like that some day...

  • Heheh, thank you! Actually I'm far better at playing keyboard drums which use the standard general MIDI layout.

  • It's not that difficult, but you gotta learn both of you're hands in an other ritthym (hi-hat), if you play piano like me it's pretty easy to learn, ande yea, i've got the full version of XLN Addictive Drums :)(1.1) . In combination with Cubase SX 3, not much else than 4, but you gotta have inspiration.

As a sidenote, you can download the full version, but you have to activate it within 10days.

but won't you like a bigger keyboard? a Roland D-10 is 50 bucks, just use MIDI only.

  • i have another ask to you...what kind of pianos are the best to do beats like this?

  • I'm very novice when it comes to this kind of stuff but I think what you mean is a midi controller.

  • i have full version , this drums sounds real =)

i have them in my song here on youtube =)

but it's shit quality on this site ... mp3 version sounds much better=)

  • is the demo free?

  • never mind. i just downloaded the demo. it is great!

  • cooooooool

  • where can i get a vsti that sounds like that? Thats not a demo version?

  • in shops when you buy it ;)

  • Yeah, me too. been using EZDRUMMER and it's a headache! I have all the collection but ADDICTIVE DRUMS is the best! as you can hear it from here. It's really great I tell you! 9 out of 10 users choose Addictive Drums! :)

  • The problem with any product of Toontrack is that it sounds to tiny cardbordy sounding. I don't know why people keep supporting that awful product. Every production i hear using toontrack's products sounds awfull really. Don't have anything against them i just think there are better options out there. Addictive Drums really are serious sounding samples that will fit in your mix. Just listen to all of the songs made with Toontracks products and compare them to XLN Aduio and you will see.

  • I have EZ Drummer and all the Extras, Also DFH Superior. Iam going to tell you that for a year ive battled in trying to get a good sound out of it, Even my studio partner that is a experienced engineer had a hard time getting those samples to sit well in the mix. When we got Addictive drums for the first day we discovered something incredible about drum samples that we never thought we wor going to experience. Today we tossed every product of toontracks to the trash.

  • best snare of bfd/ez and the others. that hihat is nasty IMO though. cant wait til drums from hell 2 comes out in a few weeks.

  • Yeah, I agree with you, the hihat tone isn't too great. They have an annoying, "clanky" quality to them. The snare in DFH Superior is pretty good. I'll look forward to DFH2, too! :)

  • Isn't DFH2 out already? I mean as far as I know I've been using it for almost a year.

As for the hihat, you'll probably want to mix Addictiv Drums with DFH and EZDrummer to get your optimal drums :P

  • Right on, sorry about the confusion. BFD2 is just now available, and by DFH2 I meant Toontrack's DFH Superior 2.0. My mistake.

  • Is is my sisters boyfriend who created addictive drums with his friends :D

  • Really? You mean he's the one who sampled the drumset, etc?

  • Na, he's probably talking about the intern who designed the packaging ;)

Just kidding. Nice video, thanks for posting it.

    Antill

  • yes

  • Way cool. I was doing this last night. Way harder than playing on my kit.

  • drumming on keyz is fun, but like everyonesays the more you practice the better you get.

  • Yes you can drag midi files in.

Also...man...who takes the time to learn ya midi keys for drum hits and combos?! That's l337

  • Wow. I'm glad I procrastinated on Toontrack and BFD and all that. This one impresses me the most. Can you drag the midi files into your software sequencer like you can in Toontrack?

  • Not sure whether you can drag midi files like you mention. The demo (used in the video) is pretty usable, you might want to check that out. Sorry about the sync in the video, guys, by the way.

  • Yes, you can drag MIDI loops into whatever sequencer that you car using.

  • Sorry, the sync is off on this video. I uploaded it as a WMV rather than a MOV file, which I find preserves the sync a lot better.

  • I love AD. Way better than ED.
