I don't know if you've gotten an answer or not, but the music used in the menu of "Saboteur" is the theme from the television show "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," which I believe was composed by Bernard Herrmann.
Does anyone have this film on DVD who can help me?
I got it in my Hitchcook Collection released by Universal Studios. It's a Norwegian release, but I wonder about the melody in the DVD menu title and who's the composer of that tune. It's not in the film, but only in the DVD title... any advise will be appreciated.
Even though it pre-dates the first Bond film by well over 20 years? Unless Fleming wrote the score into a book sleeve... oh no wait, it pre-dates the first Bond book by 11 years. Just coincidence then, yes?
James Bond Music in Saboteur (1942) - right when Pat (Priscilla Lane) has just grabbed (Robert Cummings) Barry's hands and wrapped them round the steering wheel there are a few seconds of James Bond-like chords similar to the main fanfare.

Frank Skinner is the composer of Saboteur (1942). He is also famous for composing Harvey (1950).

@konway87 ~ I don't hear any similarity at all in the musical motifs of Frank Skinner and John Barry. Not at all.
