  • hi there, I have 2003 saab 9-3 arc and I would like to know if i would be able upgrade my stock radio with that of a 2003 93 vector or better ? will the wire harness be the the same ?

the display on my radio has lines running through, seems like the light are burned out and it looks tacky. what do you suggest i do if im not able to do so ?

  • Hey guys great vid tho ive just jammed a cd in the front load pannel any help for removal would be a great help...

  • Hey How do you take off Pass. door panel on a 2003 Saab 93L 4door with power windows and lock because handle on inside does not work

    Thanks

  • How do you take out the cd player and install Aux cable?? Please help!!

  • Thank you so much for this video! I couldn't have done it without you! Huge help!

  • Awsome Video...took me about 5 minutes to replace, after watching the video!

  • just replaced the cup holder in about a half hour...thanks good vid

  • In regards to an aftermarket stereo. You can but of course it looks horrible and may lead to problems. Also it won't be easy.

Any sports sedan (03'-06') can easily add a ipod/mp3 player audio aux. jack. It goes into the back of the radio and ends in the center console under the arm rest. It is just a simple cable harness that you run inside the center console.

NOTE: You must go to a dealer to at least program your radio to enable the AUX to be recognized. Or else it will not work.

  • thanks so much for posting this! Saved me a fortune! It was surprisingly easy, start to finish about 10 mins!

  • can you put in an after market stereo in a 2004 ?

  • do you have a video of how to replace the fog lights??

  • Wow, Andy you make it look so easy. I was worried that I would have to shell out some dough to get my cup holder fixed, but thanks to you I was able to tear into the dash myself. As a bonus it turns out my cup holder was just jammed up. I fixed it, put it back together, and now I am good to go. THANK YOU! Please post more.

  • Clean work !

  • What tools did you use to remove the air vent? Can I just use a credit card?

  • This is very well done! I have a 2007 Saab 9-3 and need to replace the cup holder. Can you tell me if the procedure is the same?

  • @denavedaa

Just about. The only differences are quite obvious with the updated radio unit.

  • nice one very good information keep it up

  • Do you have any suggestions for replacing dead lamps (and a busted cupholder) in a 2K 9-5?

They were still lamps in the 2K. - I'm half tempted to take the bulbs and use a resistor/led combo soldered to them so I don't have to go through it again, but I know how DICEy this can be, and don't want to fry my beasty.

  • @capitalistpigdogus Are you talking about your illumination bulbs for your your MIU (Main Instrument Unit)? I regards to the cup holder it is more difficult than the 9-3 somewhat. Really have to know what you are doing. Have to take the whole dash apart.

  • Yep, I have a handful of bulbs dying in the MIU, and I figure I might as well change them all if I tear the beast apart.

I'm trying to put it off as even the awful Haynes book, and the WIS printout I have makes it seem easier to just scrap the cluster and replace with an Arc so I can get my turbo gauge back. However, lacking a tech2, I can't very well (re)program anything. Starting to miss working on my early-80s GM cars since no tech was required. ;)

  • @madproductions13 Wow forgot to respond for months. Yes, my 2K 9-5 has bulbs out in the MIU. Is there any way I can take the beast apart and replace dead bulbs without causing issues - or am I stuck getting a new remanuf/refurb cluster?

    Thanks!

  • @capitalistpigdogus

Yes, the bulbs are replaceable. They are of course special bulbs that you would have to get from the dealer. I would replace the majority of them because just being in there can cause others to fail. But we have just replaced the bulbs that were out with no issues.

  • @madproductions13 Thanks for the heads up. I was trying to find cheaper-than-OE bulbs, but that seems like more work than it's worth. Of course, only the one bulb from 75+ is out, so I can pretend I'm in night mode until I get up to speed. :)

  • i have a saab 9-3 2006 and my radio dont work i check all fuse and its ok. I dont no if my ampli is the probleme please help me

  • @williamscool91

9.9 times out of 10 you need a new AMP1(Amplifier) located underneath the left front seat (drivers seat).
