@cologey it wasn't even bugsy's idea to open a casino in vegas---it was somebody else's, who ran out of money....bugsy simply took over the construction of the casino when the money ran out.

when this movie was origonally released, there was at least one article of how bugsy siegal invented vegas is pure myth, with the truth about the origonal, and forgotten, builder of the casino siegal got credit for.

This movie is what it's all about. People who want it all, can't have it so they try to take it by force. Passionate people are good in their place but if you're a hot-head sent out West to try and do good here, you should be respectful of what made you successful. Everyone in the world need to learn how to share wealth. When I watched Busgy Malone clips 100's of times here a few years ago (before Google) it was for a damn good reason. People forget what started them. They turn greedy. Stop!

It was William Wilkerson, publisher of Variety, that started to build the Flamingo. (Named that becuase he loved tropical birds.) Some of Meyer Lansky's men, Moe Sedway and Gus Greenbaum, went to Lansky, (hence Moe Green in the Godfather), and got $1 million to help Wilkerson. Siegel went kicking and screaming to the desert to oversee the operation, kicked out Wilkerson, and then got what he deserved. Siegel was a killer who never had an original thought.

@Janybody17 It's a highly polished script, and the structure is very good. I like the way Bugsy struggles to keep his volcanic temper under control... asking for "identification" and such.
