It dont matter what song u use anyway, as long as you do it well and match things up. The motion vamps and revamps were awesome against the soundtrack and thats all it is. ITS A AMV. You could even play rock music to Cowboy Bebop even though the show is jazz orientated as long as you executed it well, it never matters what the show is really about

This clip is all about matching a good beat to a good clip, it doesnt matter wtf the history behind afro samurai is, ive never seen it but i dont have to to appreciate a good amv when i see it. Omfg, why is it that people want to talk so much about my own opinion. If you'd read before you post, you may have seen where I complimented him on how the vid was mixed. It's just that the song doesn't mix well, for 2 reasons:

1.For the show

2.For the time period the clips were in.

and you made your mistake in you post. you've never seen Afro Samurai, and I own the videos. that may not obligate me to make judgments on lowly AMVs, but it at least gives me credentials on watching the show before I misjudge other peoples comments...

IT does matter when you pick the song. You don't just pick a damn song and make a video, gathering random clips and crap in order to satisfy your love of the show. I respect xXNasdaqXx because he made a decent vid, without making it fit to the song.

And the show does matter when you're making an AMV. Otherwise, how will the real fans of the show appreciate the vid, hmm? Most likely, people who like Afro Samurai are curios about hiphop. People who watch CB like the fact that jazz is in it. Not to say that's the only reason people watch the show, for the music. It's just one thing that sets the show apart from others that they like.

4. Ok, then the song choice was horrible for this type of video, and it was too damn long. A commercial/clip doesnt last for over a minute, so dont come here with excuses like that. OYu put the logo at the end cuz u wanted a small filler for w/e reasons.

Also, along with watching the Japanese version online,, I watch the AdultSwim one, and buy DVDs....that has nothing to do with this whole thing, as I was merely making a reference to something.

You see, everyone who watches Adult Swim in America probably has seen Champloo (whether or not they like it) and know it in that form, as a predominately asian hip hop show closely linked with urban dance, like breakdancing, and martial arts, like the Capeiora that Mugen uses to fight...

5. The versions from USA and Japan are different, but just the words and mild dubbing corrections to transfer it to AMerican culture. I know for a fact AS didn't go and reanimte scenes of graffiti, or Mugen's capoeira. THat was in the show, the show is partially about hiphop, and your wrong again. Some times you can change the mood with proper editing. It just wasn't done here. I feel sad that Afro had to kill them, then I turn the sound back up and it's mock party boy blasting through my speakers. It just kills the vid....sry, but it's the truth.

again, if you missed it for the millionth time, those are my favorite you're looking at, and the editing was ok....

I don't how you can give pointers when you post videos you yourself didn't create.

The song isn't meant to make you think of a hard life or anything else, that's something you threw in as a speculation which you would want to see in your own video. It was more so meant to be a short clip like a commercial, hence the title logo at the end. The only reason your putting Champloo with hip-hop is due to what you saw on Adult Swim,

Side note, the versions from Japan to USA are completely different, and it's a trance -- techno hip-hop style. What you see and translates to the states is not always the same.

Based on what your saying, best word I can use is "arrogant" that you mention that its only a hip-hop style music that will fit. That's like saying Scary movies should only be mixed with hard rock. Any music and mood can be changed with the proper editing, time, music, and scenes.

Very very few people who use this song in a video succeed in matching the tempo with the clip. There are so many noobs who just mash everything together and screw it up and ruin the clip and song. Being the techno beat in this one. It was all about speed ramps up and down in sceens. You might miss it at times but it matches. With every major bass beat it stops in a slow motion and then re amps up higher then normal. The attacks is where its mostly on point. The ending is all about the clouds, shadows.

To each their own, and your views are just that your views. However there are many other ways to change this same song, clips and such. To make another AMV which can be completely different. Its not always about the words, beat, theme, etc.

This is how I make my videos. I watched your battle cry, showing scenes of the sword when it speaks of the samuri sword, cutting the arm when it says arms, etc. etc. This isn't the case. When it's an instrumental, it is a bit different. I dont consider useing Samurai Champloo theme a perfect fit when its not different.

well, i dont really agree with word reference in vid (arm when they say it, etc), because it's so easy. Doing a instrumental is, of course different. I'm just saying that the whole series has it's own feel to it. have you really watched the show, say without the tv's volume up. if you were to turn on a hiphop (not any rap...i'm talking a real hiphop beat) the actions on the TV could match up with most of the songs....
