  • No doubt Bo had Hall of Fame ability. Still I don't think it will ever happen. He just had too few carries. Had he been a full time player that 5.4 yds per carry would have come down to earth, Still one can appreciate his talent. One has to question despite his obvious strength and speed could he have taken a constant pounding without getting hurt playing full time over years? Was his injury a freak accident or a sign of being injury prone? We will never know for sure.

  • You also have to remember running the ball back in bos day was not what normally happned. More teams passed becasue there were so many rules protecting the quarterback. Bo jackson was explosive and a major athlete.

  • Anyone talking shit about Bo's stats are just plain stupid. To put up the kind of numbers he did in two professional sports is not easy by any stretch. You're talking about an athlete with hardly any down time, training mechanics and technique in two separate sports, and travelling on the road way more than a regular athlete. There's no doubt that if Bo committed to either sport he would have put up much more consistent numbers.

  • jmprow83 you are either a little kid who was not around during this era, on heroin, or just plain stupid.

  • I'm not going to say that there will never be another athlete like Bo, but I will say that I haven't seen it yet. He was getting better every year in baseball before that injury, he had the talent to become the only athlete to be a hall of famer in both football and baseball. You have to remember that when he played football, that made Marcus Allen 2nd string who himself is in the hall. To those too young to know, Bo was better than A.P.

  • @doerockstar didnt you post this on yahoo?

  • Great video man

  • Most OVERRATED athlete: EVER!

  • @jmprow83 And you're the biggest idiot ever! This guy was a true freak of nature. Go look at his records in high-school, college, and as a pro.... No one even some close to this guy. He played more than one sport from high-school through the pro rankings, and he dominated in every single one of them. Do your homework before you open up you pie hole!

  • Imagine if he had NOT played football what baseball records he would own. from the throw to one handed home run in the all star game

  • Bo has been my favorite Raider of all time!! It's such a shame that a fret athlete like him was taken out the game do to injury. I agree he deserves to be a hall of famer more than some of the other players who already are. #34 the man, the myth, the legend Bo Jackson BEST RAIDER OF ALL TIME

  • @jschultz410 It seems like you appreciate how long someone does something as opposed to how well they do it...

  • He was the reason I played as a Raider when Tecmo Bowl came out for the NES. And I was (still am) a Bears fan.

  • I go to UA, but I also went to the same high school as Bo. He will always be the greatest athlete of all time to me, and I'm a life-long Bama fan. I'll tell my kids proudly one day that my uncle went to school with him.

  • G.A.O.A.T ( greatest athlete of all time)

  • ha 16 dislikes, nice try bama fans

  • @njsmith571 i went to bama, and i think its stupid to not admit he is a freak. anyone that can snap a bat over their knee is a beast.

  • ha 16 dislikes, nice try bama fans

  • Sorry, but Chris Johnson had nearly as many running yards in a single year as Bo did in his whole career. Maybe if he had been a starting running back, not a second fiddle, he'd have the numbers in 4 years to make an argument. But as it was, he's not a HOF RB.

  • @jschultz410 Bo Jackson didn't play full seasons., He didn't start until baseball was over, so of course he wont have as many yards as Chris Johnson did a in a single year. Also He he shared time with Hall Of Famer Marcus Allen. Bo Jackson was the starter, Marcus was moved to FB often times...You have it wrong Bo forced Hall Of Famer Marcus Allen to play second fiddle, and switch positions

  • @BoKnowsTheHall Hell to the YES if he hadnt been injured like he was I believe he would have been a Hall of Fammer in both baseball & football. HE IS WITH OUT A DOUBT THE GREATEST ATHLETE OF THE LAST 50 YEARS.

  • @nittiman77 greatest athlete ever

  • @BoKnowsTheHall My point is that several running backs have had nearly as many yards and TDs as Bo did in *his entire career* in a *single year*.

Chris Johnson in 2009 had 2509 yards from scrimmage and 16 TDs. If Chris Johnson ended his career today, he would be a very long shot to make the HOF even with his other 4 years of starter stats tagged on.

Bo Jackson *might* have been a HOF RB if he had a full career and was a full time starter. But he wasn't, so he isn't.

  • @jschultz410 So what the fuck is your point? Why are you even posting your dumb ass comments. Nobody gives a shit. The guy that made this video thinks he should be in the Hall of Fame. Why is it that you automatically come out with a negative comment on how other running backs were better, when you didn't even know Bo Jackson started in the 8th game of the season every year. Why don't you know a little bit more about the subject before you comment. Nobody wants to read your negative comments

  • @jschultz410 How dare you even try to compare chris johnson and bo jackson. Football was a hobby for him!

  • @jschultz410

    1. Bo only plyaed during baseball's offseason

    2. Bo averaged 5.4 yds/carry...#2 ALL TIME among RBs

    3. Bo was never 'second fiddle' to Allen; Allen was only the starting RB when Bo was busy with baseball

Still, I agree he didn't have enough time for the HoF, but since football was only his hobby during the offseason, he never would have had a full season anyway

  • P.S.- He ran a 4.12 sec 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine, which is STILL the fastest verifiable 40-yard dash time EVER recorded at any NFL Combine...and at 6'1, 235 lbs., no less. He also owns the second-fastest recorded time running from home plate (left side) to first base, behind only Mickey Mantle

  • 5:45 looks like a tape in fast forward.

  • Sports history will always remember Bo. Bo knows this. What a badass.

  • The greatest of all time. I became a football because of watching him when I was 6 years old. He could have been the greatest athelete that ever lived. truff, you are right, He was bigger than Jordan for a couple years. Remember the cartoon? JeffRoberts, you are an idiot. A waste of talent isn't somebody that got injured, its' Jamarcus Russell. That's a waste of talent.Bo KNOW TECMO BOWL

  • @coleusmc79 You became a football?

  • Does anybody remember that Bo was a bigger star than Michael Jordan in his prime?

  • @truffxhurtz :Mike didnt become a huge star until the 90's,Bo was already there.

  • Wow. I mean, 'WOW'! Bo Jackson was the greatest athlete in the world.

  • it made me sad at 2:34 to seee al davis. r.i.p al davis.

  • quit using this to whine buzz kill way too much buzz kill.. or bo kill

  • Best athlete ever.... wasted talent because of injury

  • I wonder what he could have done if he actually played a full season, not just the second half of the season due to baseball.

  • Imagine what records would have been broken had he not wrecked his hip in that playoff game against the Bengals. I still remember it vividly. My heart sank a little when he was taken off of the field that day.

  • What's sick is- he was never in "FOOTBALL SHAPE". I can't imagine how much more he could have done if he was in football shape. Talent beyond belief.

  • @sgtroq

i think he was in shape to do just about anything lol

  • Bo hasn't had the accomplishments of other athletes, because of splitting time and the career-ending injury; but as far as flat out physical ability, he's gotta be the best athlete ever. 6'1", 230, and 4.1 40...insane. That alone puts him in a category of his own.

  • I love Bo. I'm fine with him taking ROIDS for a competitive edge. Best competitor to ever live athletically.

  • tampa bay was down with the shamercow ya dig

  • The real reason Bo choose Baseball over Football was to avoid becoming a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. Bo preferred a silver & black pirate over an orange & red one.

  • I think the 90 yard TD runs are impressive .... but is kind of an overrated stat... inorder to have a TD run of over 90 yards, that means the line of scrimmage would have to be at least your own 10 yard line. Most good teams aren't going to have that poor of field position often.

Lucky for Bo, he played in an era where the Fullback occasionally carried the Ball. In today's NFL, the Fullback is non-existant.

  • @ECWnWWF Any era of Football is damn lucky that Bo Jackson liked baseball more than Football - If not the record books would have been named Bo Jackson's football accomplishments.

This is Like Michael Jordan playing baseball as his primary sport, then playing basketball on the side.

  • @AMilitantAgnostic

hahaha..that shit is so fucking hilarious...but probably would be true

  • Don't you just wish we had cam and bo on the same team for four years?

  • YALL CHECK OUT MY PAGE... IAM ALL ABOUT SPORTS..... BEST WINNER EVER.... IS UP RIGTH NOW...CHECK IT OUT...

  • @sashacougar...you're a nitwit. His hip "didn't deteriorate so rapidly." He was tackled and injured it in the fall. As a result of the injury and associated surgery, the blood flow to the head of his femur was interrupted causing avascular necrosis. The head of the femur was damaged so badly he had to have hip replacement.

  • @superfuzz87 Finnally someone who actually know what happened

  • Face it people. Bo was a phenomenal athlete aided by steroids. That is why his hip joint deteriorated so rapidly.

  • i remember the All Star Game from '89 when he led off the bottom of the 1st inning with a 450 foot solo shot to center field...

  • OUCH

    Sincerely,

    Bat

  • Thanx for all da hard work on researching! Enjoyed it alot! He was my Hero and Still is! Best Athlete ever!

  • Man, I was in middle school when BO dominated and remember being mesmerized by him. It is sad that kids today have no clue who he is.

  • jordan cant do wat this guy does basketball isnt hard

  • @DatBoiUda Sry bro Basketball is the hardest sport there is! U have to RUN and dribble a ball then get it in a lil hoop! I played all three in h.s. BUT BO is da bess athlete EVER!

  • @Midnite4Life777 Hockey is way tougher than basketball, and hitting a baseball is the toughest thing to do in professional sports.

  • @basshockey1 I agree bout the hitting a baseball but the rest of that sport is cake! Running on bases. But hockey, us brothers dont like anything to do with cold lol but if we did we'd take dat sport over too! I dont include hockey when i talk bout sports no offense intended.

  • @DatBoiUda you are retarded

  • jordan is still no doubt the best ever.

  • I am 35 years old he was my HERO as i kid the best that will ever be truely touched by GOD with a gift like no one will have again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Truly the best athlete I remember

  • The best athlete ever!

  • All I can say is that Dion couldn't hold a candle to him, he is the reason I became a raiders fan, his biography was the only one I have ever read, and I couldn't put it down, he is AWESOME!!!! He should be a duel sport hall of fame candidate!

  • @22uutes BO KNOWS BO is one of two books i have read in my life.He is the reason my heart pupms SILVER AND BLACK TILL I DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I agree! Bo should be able to go!

  • I watched Bo from his days at Auburn till he played his last football game for the Raiders, He was the greatest ever, Nobody is even close. I remember watching him after he got hurt play for the White sox running down the first base line it brought tears to my eyes. HE SHOULD BE IN THE HALL !

  • Bo was better at football, but he was also smart in that he knew that baseball players get PAID! Bo loved to play, but everybody wants to get paid, and aint nothin wrong with it.

  • @Sierra688 I don't know about that. Bo was the natural at baseball as well. Hell he was just getting started and was making All Star games. His throw at home plate of Harold Reynolds is the best throw I've ever seen in my life and will ever see!

  • Without avascular necrosis, he would probably be one of the best running backs (statistically) of all time.

  • @DJprofessork72 if he played full tiem he would have been better then any runningback ever.

  • Greatest athlete I've ever seen. Period.

  • I love Bo, he is probably the best athlete of all time but you can't forget primetime sanders.

  • @Imranfeiruz ya but, you can't compare because bo jackson never had a prime. shit, he never even tried. he didnt go tot raining camp. he barley watched film. he put in just as much effort as i do when i go to the park to pklay baskeball rather then the true games.

  • @idontnoapassword He didnt go to the training camp but he gave it his everything!

  • @30293952 well ya he gave 100% but howmuch better he could have been if he played football full time. he never went to the gym either. he said before he injured his hip he thought the gym was for wimps. he never had time to work out because he was either in the middle of his season or playing baseball.

  • @idontnoapassword I know bro i wasnt disrespecting or nothins haha im saying on the field he did

  • best set of cheeks on a black man i have ever seen.....just got to the top of my list of guys i have to blow before i die.

  • Best pure athlete I have ever seen...

  • I think Bo Jackson is the greatest we will ever see hands down! I know if he'd played one sport baseball or football he would be in the hall of fame .

  • Im fairly sure he could have played whatever position he wanted. I think if he woulda choose another position he might have lasted longer.

  • Not many dudes could truck a middle linebacker or outrun a pure cover corner. Bo could do both. Sick athletic abilities.

  • Wish there were more multiple sport athletes. Prince Fielder would make a pretty beastly fullback, lol.

  • lmao!! gets to the hockey bit, Gretzky's like..."NAW"

  • bo knows everthing are you fucking dumb...quote it..owns

  • Much love and respect for your work in putting this accurate info together!!!

  • Bo wasnt on no juice one of the few freaks/phenoms we where blessed to witness, everything does happen for a reason and Bo will get his dues!!!!

  • Bo said everything happens for a reason and he doesn't regret getting hurt. I think the reason is he was on the juice and sooner or later he would have been foubnd out and disgraced. So he's glad cause he still gets to be a hero.

  • @Cosmictalk stfu he wasnt on juice they checked all his lifetime bloodchecks and he was never positive

  • I love mcenroe's "Bo knows tennis"?

  • Bo Jackson = Freak of Nature

  • Raider Nation

  • PRETTY GOOD FOR A BASEBALL PLAYER. FOOTBALL BROKE HIM DOWN

  • hes a G.O.A.T

  • When Al Davis was senile, he was brilliant.

  • @krnboy1009 al davis smokes crack.i'm convinced.oh yeah, you go 8-8 sweep the division, fire the coach let your best o-lineman walk, you don't re-sign your pro bowl tight end and the best coverman in the game jump ship.AL MUST GO! AL MUST GO! AL MUST GO!

  • Darrell Green has the fastest 40 time in NFL history at 4.02 seconds. He also timed out in the 40 at 4.21 seconds.....when he was 40.

  • @germanbanger i remember a game back in 91 the skins vs falcons.this receiver named michael haynes a 4.2 man, green was playin up close he falls down so haynes thinks he's gonna score darrell green ran him down from behind. darrell green and bo jackson, willie gault were the fastest players.i keep hearing deion this deion that.any one of those guys i mentioned would dust deion or anybody in the leuge right now

  • @dertylox45 Your are absolutely right but let me point out that no, nobody in our league right now is faster than deion except chris johnson and devin hester.

  • @germanbanger

    Darrell Green never ran a 4.02. Maybe a 4.20. Never a 4.02.

  • @drbayoms Rumours say 4.09 but he claimed he never heard of running anything under a 4.15

  • @germanbanger Your retarded he said the fastest hes ever ran was a 4.15 and he did a 4.40 as at 40 .

  • @germanbanger Bo has the fastest at 4.12 you idiot.

  • @germanbanger omfg...4.02... bullshit

  • @trippin916 4.12

  • That dude is BUILT! Bo da man!

  • How can 7 people dislike this video he would of broke so many more records if he didnt get injured one of the greatest running backs

  • How can 7 people dislike this video

  • Who cares

  • well deion played baseball and football at d same time bo didnt do dat but all in all he still was an better athelete he holds d fastest forty ever man but deion was hard to catch to

  • @patboy07 Bo was a way better athlete then deion but deion 40 was the fastest ever i dont remember what but it was faster than bo's haha

  • Great video, loved the clips of Bo. But the editing was terrible.

  • BO KNOWS EVERYTHING

  • 5 people don't know football

  • The greatest athlete ever

  • This dude would run over the Kansas City Chiefs during the regular season, then to make it up to us Chiefs fans during the offseason he'd slam homers out of the ballpark at Kaufman Stadium playing for the KC Royals!! haha. Only Raider I don't hate.

  • Winning the heisman in college and having more of a baseball than football career now that is something

  • should Terrell Davis be in the hall of fame? His brief era of domination was much more impressive than Bo's. TD was the reason why the Broncos won those two Super Bowls.

  • bo was great don't get me wrong. some issues with Bo being in the hall of fame are 1.) It is impossible to compare Jim Thorpe to Bo, completely different eras. Ki-Jana Carter had as many rushing yards as Red Grange. 2.) Bo Jackson in the eyes of hall of fame voters was not a committed football player, he did it as an off season hobby. He was a baseball player who played for the LA Raiders for a few seasons before being hurt.

  • Jim Brown was the baddest mofo to ever step on a football field. Everyone one else is fighting for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.

  • @TheRiobezerko Bs..the players were not even close to being as good as they are today. Jim Brown would be like danny woodhead in todays nfl..

  • @wasbro1 lol...you are a certifiable idiot. JB was in a class by himself

  • @TheRiobezerko Players in the NFL today are stronger, faster, and smarter. Defenses are significantly better today than they were in JB's days. He'd be just an average back in today's NFL.

  • All of Bo Jackson's time spent in the NFL was during his absolute prime. Consider this: Bo never played a full season, had more than 5 tds in a season, averaged 100 yards a game for any season or rushed for 1000 yards. Bo was no threat as a receiver and was only voted to 1 pro bowl and never a first team all pro.

Bo Jackson was a great athlete and had boat loads of potential for the nfl but simply putting him in the HOF for a few 90+ yard runs and amazing raw talent is wrong.

  • Bo shoulda stuck with baeball only. altho his football highlights are fun to watch. barring injury Bo would be the first and only man to be a hall of famer in two pro sports

  • Bo Jackson is the best

  • PLEASE JOIN MY TWITTER FAN PAGE @TeamRobbieCano

  • not to mention that before the football season he had just played a complete 162 game baseball season and just had a week to rest up before football.

  • 0:13 is that 50 cent?

  • A FREAK, even in comparison to all-time best RBs. Baring longevity, he has to be there at the top with Jim Brown as best ever.

  • Great video !!! ..... Thanks !

  • He is the definition of a hall of famer. It is 2011 and we are still watching highlights and talking about him. There needs to be a different way of voting for HOF players because there are alot of Raider haters thAt are getting to vote. You shouldn't bash someone for being on a certain team. Example Tom Flores, Ray Guy, Ken stabler, Jim plunkett, Tim Brown shouldn't have to wait a second more to get in, I could go on forever, so he he has my vote.

  • whick Herschels time in the USFL was clearly a marketing ploy to boost the popularity of the new organization in its infant stages. Herschel then went on to put up 10,000 yards in the NFL, which for those of you fucking idiots who don't know, is a lot of fucking yards. If you were to combine Herschel's 10,000 yards with his USFL stats, I believe he would be sitting at 2nd or 3 rd on the NFL's all time leading rushers list. Don't be mad that Hersch has more yards than times you have beat off.

  • There should be an intelligence test administered to anyone who want to post something on youtube. 72% of the posters are fucking morons. Bo Jackson is one of the greatest athletes that has ever lived. Also, people talking shit about Herschel Walker fit into the 72% of morons I alluded too earlier in my post. Herschel played 4 or 5 seasons in the USFL before going to the NFL, His seasons in the USFL, which let me clarify is PROFESSIONAL football were breath taking. After his tenure in the USFL

  • @diamondbreaker23 Not to mention he was a one man army in his days with Dallas. He had a highlight reel every game. Just the Cowboys were not winning those years

  • well in football.

  • he is in the hall of fame.

  • holy shit. its a shame he got injured..

  • Buck O'Neil was a scout for the Cubs and Royals, after playing and managing in the Negro Leagues. He said, in Ken Burns' "Baseball" series, I think, he could tell when Babe Ruth was batting--the contact had a sound. He heard that sound only two other times over his 90 or so years--one was Josh Gibson, the other Bo. Bo truly was electric...KC fans were shocked and upset that he signed with the Raiders, for several reasons. He cost himself the best baseball career of anyone, but he was true.

  • true story: Bo caught from behind. lmao thats a funny headline

  • true story: Bo caught from behind. lmao thats a funny healine

  • Here's a case where statistics just don't tell the whole story. George Brett is a Hall of Famer who deserves to be in the hall and who personally won the Royals many games, but Bo.... Bo was just electric, and George was not. In fact no one - NO ONE - was as electric as Bo in either baseball or football. Again, statistics just don't convey the feel of the stadium when Bo stepped into the batters box or stole a base or outran every DB in a football game. Bo - the greatest athlete ever.

  • You cannot play for 4 seasons and end up in the hall. He never played a full season never rushed for 1k yards

  • i think Bo has earned the right to be in the baseball HoF as a royal.......he did several great things in his time in KC, was a part of the great 80's teams, and was dedicated to baseball. but football was just a hobby for him. i agree he needs to be in the HoF....but you're pushing the wrong hall.

  • how bout a special exhibit at the football AND baseball hofs dedicated to "the greatest natural athelete of all time.." or something along those lines?

  • Bo Jackson isn't even in the top 250 of all time rushing yards. I'm a Bo fan but you cant go to the Hall of Fame on those stats he had. Regardless of his ability or the what if scenarios of his career. Especially considering running backs get his entire career statistics in their first two seasons nowadays. It's ignorant to degrade entire careers and the people who put up just as good numbers as he did by ignoring them entirely.

  • @peashiee Gayle Sayers

  • @twoodswins11

Twice the amount of yards and numerous NFL records. Argument doesnt work.

In fact Gale had more td's in his rookie year then Bo had in his entire career.

    Next?

  • the cross trainer shoe was created BECAUSE of bo jackson.....dude was supernatural

  • best facebook hack ever /watch?v=Fd0di5HFboY

  • I loved those Bo Knows commercials

  • my only problem with the stats is that BO Jackson never had a 99 yard run with one offensive player not on his side of the field, they didn't line up in time and they ran the play, so i take offense to that stat quip. other than that i believe BO should be in the Hall on his 4 years.

  • I live in KC and saw Bo arrive at two different car accidents to try to help. Now, that was two that I came across as well. Who knows how many he stopped at.

  • Man HE JUST HAD THAT EXPLOSIVE SPEED !!! i bet he could burn any player in the nfl right if only he didnt have that hip replacement. if that never happened you're talkin bout a multiple hall-of-famer MLB and NFL. he could have hit 400 hr and 10,000 yds.

  • as far as best pure athlete, it's probably bo. not only did he have the rare combination of world class speed and strength, he had a mind, agility and desire to match.

i've wondered about other athletes who never tried the two sport thing, warren sapp was amazing, 300lbs and 6 foot, hulk like strength, speed and could dunk a basketball, for one.

deon was pretty amazing, i swear he had an extra gear that was never clocked, not quite the power of bo, but amazing quickness and skills.

  • I want Bo Jackson's DNA in all my children lol

  • I dont care if it was a hobbie! hall of fame means the best players of all time, Bo Jackson ,is one of the best atheletes of all time. period.

  • There is no doubt Bo Is the greatest NON-Hall of famer running back of all time, And thats the best he can be. It is a shame that he had that hip injury because i believe if he didnt we would be speaking of him with the likes of Jim Brown, Walter Payton, and Barry Sanders. Unfortunately unless Bo purchases A Delorean, and gets Doc Brown to fit it with a flex-capacitor, and finally, goes back in time and pretends to be sick that fateful day against the Bengals. Only then will he be a hall of famer

  • i remember when he was a Rookie for LA Raiders dis guy is the best eva drafted by the Raiders :) tho his season ended early i remember watching the game when he got hurt that finish his career :( sad day eva ps i think he would of been busted for JUICE but who knos

  • i remember when he was a Rookie for LA Raiders dis guy is the best eva drafted by the Raiders :) tho his season ended early i remember watching the game when he got hurt that finish his career :( sad day eva

  • @IbonedDerekDsister Bo had all ready ran 60 yards...the length of the field is 30 yards...he went all the way left, and then back all the way right...even still the corner had to dive to catch Bo....how can you say the corner is faster considering that Bo had all ready ran more than half a football field, and the corner still had to dive to trip him up? When you watch a track race they all run equal distances
