  • Amazing how you can find tons of songs that are out on the radio right now on YouTube, and those don't get taken down. Yet, a 20 year old clip recorded off HOT 97 is somehow considered copyright infringement? What a joke!

  • Wow, Hot 97 at this time was the best sounding radio station I have ever heard. I wish there were a way to gather the archives of anyone who has recordings of the station from 1986-1994. I have some but wouldn't know where to post them. So what happened to that Hot 97 (and formerly Hot 103) sound? What made it so unique? Anyone who listened knows what I'm talking about...

  • @agloberm Hot 97 was one of the greatest radio stations in the history of New York radio, in my own opinion. I would literally listen to them for like 4 hours straight and almost every song they played was a great record! What starting happening around 1993 was that Hot 97 and other stations like it around the USA started playing less freestyle, dance, house, and pop records, and more hip hop and R&B music. By 1994, Hot 97 had completely switched its format to all hip hop and R&B.

  • Wow, seriously? You disabled the audio on this? A 20 year old radio station clip?

    Beyond pathetic.

  • YouTube disabled it, not me. I agree, it is pathetic. No one's going to rip an old cassette-quality song with talk breaks over both ends for their mp3 player.

  • That was supposed to say "YouTube" instead of "You"... I don't know what happened there.

I seriously think stupid things like disabling audio of this type is what makes it easier for people to not care about pirating everything else. This clip (I presume) would have no commercial resale value whatsoever. What's the point in removing it?

  • this station reminds me exactly of 103.5 KTU.

  • MAN!, talking about a blast from the past. even hot 97 commericals sounded good

  • OMG!!! OUTQ Your club and concert calendar!!! I loved that!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember those commercials played all over the local radio stations. Is that still open? I don't really hear it anymore.

  • I moved to Vegas now. I listen to KTU online from time to time but I don't think I still here the OUTQ anymore... :(
