  • Hehe no it doesn't

  • My tummy hurts

  • Damn it. I have to comment again.. I HAVE TO TAKE THIS CLASS IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS!!! I'm terrified. lol

  • I have to take this class when I start med school!! O_o

  • they all had sex with the bodies afterwards

  • or maybe the increase in cadavers just means more body snatchers/serial killers... probably selling those dead bodies to some unethical company for 50$ each and the company probably put a lot of preservatives and sold them back to school which is trying to save as much fund as possible for maybe 200$? good business with the economy like this.

  • @Myoldnamesdontwork are you kidding those kids are more than $200 a piece, try $40 000+

  • no i think should be cheaper...cadavers dont worth much unless the company lies and sell them as legit for higher prices and make more money. i dare you tho body snatchers will sell them for around 50-100$ per corpse. prolly dug it up or murder someone and all the med students coming from all over the states or word wont know the corpse then it works!

  • @Myoldnamesdontwork you're retarded, they wouldnt sell someone for $50-$100 because if they got caught for murder or whatever they did it would be way over $100 lawsuit, so it wouldnt be worth the rsik unless you're talking 3rd world countries but these cadavers are clearly old people who have passed away and donated their body

  • you dont know where they got the corpses from b/c the company might just refuse to tell you or best of all lie to you. law suit only when law found out about the murder cases like hey! mister A is gone/killed by B and B already sold the body to company X and X sold the body to school at a different state. may not be murder may be mister B just dig up mister A from somewhere and sold it at other places. who know who mister A is in a different state? students from different regions.

  • Weak. If you want to be graphic, throw them in the deep end and uncover the heads. Let them see a face to attach to the body they are cutting up. You wouldn't see anyone laughing...

  • Why the prayer?? but regardless great to see medical students doing whats best for society!

  • On our first day we dissected the facial muscles.

  • starting med school in october!!! really psyched cos I worked really hard to get in!! cant wait for the dissections

  • lucky students

  • I have no idea why I watched that...

  • Give doctors and surgeons credit - I could never do this in school. I got grossed out dissecting an earthworm in high school!

  • when the zombie apocalypse comes all the med students doing this will be screwed. Thats why you should carry a shotgun on you at med school at all times, allday errday. If you say this at your interview for med school you will be twice as likely to get in.

  • i found this difficult to masterbate to

  • @amasucci111 lol

  • I wanted one to just sit up. See that reaction.

  • In the famous words of Cleveland Brown, "That's nasty."

  • The faces are covered because it would be illegal to capture their faces on the film. Otherwise for the most part, the face can be uncovered. Also to my understanding, the only part of the body that is disposed of is fat or adipose tissue, all other parts of the body are kept together to be cremated and returned to the family.

  • @sgrippi1989 Everything is kept :)

  • @voximus Not quite everything. :-) An effort is made to keep as much of the donor together for return; however in the case of more obese donors, fat tissue and only fat tissue may be disposed of separately. (by disposed of, I don't mean thrown in the trash. It is collected in a bin and picked up by a medical waste service like Stericycle to be incinerated or made in to soap by Brad Pitt)

  • She's not kidding. Trying to locate a nerve in a fatty sub-Q layer, without accidentally cutting it, is damn near impossible. The dissection subject my team is working on is a fatty buttery mess. I can't imagine how hard it must be to do surgery on an obese patient.

  • @rmcdaniel423 tru dat

  • @rmcdaniel423 - Especially the cutaneous branches!

  • Guy at 0:36 so dreamy-3

  • When I was in anatomy we were told that every piece of each body is kept together to be returned to the families for proper burial or cremation. I do not know if every school does this but I know mine worked it out beforehand with the families.

  • So Much For Graphic Images .-.

  • I know a few people whom r actually work in the medical industry whom have donated their bodies to science but I have strong reservations in this because their friends and love ones won't get any emotional closure that a proper funeral will give some medical facilities do give bodies back to families after what they wanted to do with the bodies so they can get closure in comfort they may have helped people whom my be suffering fr curtain illnesses or disa. in now or in the future

  • i have to do this for my class i just saw the cadaver a day ago i think a funeral is worst, the bodies look like a raw chicken. I wont be dissecting till late fall.

  • i could never do that, hell no! :(

  • Why do they leave the faces covered?

    Anatomy is RAW I say!

  • My thoughts on the economy bearing on cadaver donations increasing, would be that the cost of burial insurance is out of reach. Therefore, requiring more people to chose donating their body to science rather than burial. Just a thought.

  • was that a shop vac at 2:16?

  • i hope those med students use their brains and their hearts in gross anatomy. its not the easiest thing to do. did all of that in graduate school..... well i guess thats why i chose to be a 3rd year Optometry School.

  • Learn from the dead...to save the living.

  • People get paid for donations? I don't understand his comment that the numbers being up is a sad reflection on the economy. Seems odd money would be involved.

  • If you're interested, there is an article that goes along with this movie; google: cadavers lauran neergaard. Like some who commented before me, I find this jovial atmosphere in the presence of the deceased to be absolutely unacceptable. And high-fiving over a dead person, regardless of context, is simply despicable.

  • its true and im wondering where they gonna put those left overs i think they still deserved to be burried.

  • man they're laughing and giving each others fives.. in my school teachers kick you the fuck out for one laugh from anatomy lab..

  • @aronkacska That's real uptight. We don't play with our cadavers but we're allowed to laugh to ease the tension or stress

  • That's cool. My sister took that class at Georgetown. I would never be able to do it though, I don't have the stomach for it.

  • Regarding the high five, I would be happy to have a surgeon who is gun-ho about learning...moreover, I would much rather have my body donated to enthusiastic students rather than those who don't want to be there...I would think you would hope that you have a surgeon who enjoys what he or she does for a living...

  • Never agree to donate your body while you're still alive. Ever since I did, these creeps from the medical school have been following me around everywhere.

  • Chill out. There's nothing wrong with students being excited for anatomy lab. The high five was in NO way a sign or gesture of disrespect.

  • kids these days

  • eww they look like pig corpses, i guess hairless mammal corpses look a bit alike

  • Wow, never seen something like that. All images are grafic ! lol

  • they cover the faces?

  • Faces dry quickly, and it becomes hard to dissect later.

  • all cadavers are meant to be anonymous contributions out of respect to the families... the only time I have ever seen someone reveal their ID was a teacher who became part of a grad study at The Body Farm... he wanted to continue teaching people after death... so they did a documentary about The Body Farm while they studied his cadaver... its really interesting if you can stomach it...

  • I couldn't do that

  • Pray you never have to get surgery from the two "high-fiving" morons

  • I agree with you they think its all fun and games dissecting a decease human body.

That high five was so damn wrong.

If these idiots die and get buried i will consider pissing on their graves.

  • Look, you idiot asshole. You don't know the context of this "high-five." My gf is in the class and she actually told me what transpired. Don't be critical just because you think you know what's going on.

As for "these idiots dying" . . . these are the doctors of the future . . . so I hope that when your old ass body is all fucked up, that all these so called "idiots" will give you the finger when you ask for medical help.

  • Hmmm believe me i know whats going on and just by looking i can tell all thats going on.

I dont know or even care what shit you do in your life but keep your fucked up comments to your crappy self.

You serious have no clue about me and i cant believe i let people like your trashy self get the best of me.

All that i am saying that doing that high five while dissecting a human being is wrong. And believe me i know the context of high 5 but i dont do it while beginning to dissect a person. idiot

  • Actually were the idiots dying you fool get your shit right.

  • Well your right about something.

Arguing with a simple minded person like you over this does makes me an idiot.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

  • You do not know the context behind the high five. They could be talking about sports or something else. Good job being a critical thinker.

  • @Gandhiablo

Um, why are they "morons" because they're "high-fiving"? Jesus Christ are they supposed to behave like robots? They have a right to celebrate every day of their lives; they're in medical school for fuck's sake! They're going to make a difference in people's lives someday, and they have a long, tough, yet rewarding journey ahead of them. Cut the kids a break.

  • @blahblahblahman You don't just high five over someones dead body, thats very childish and disrespectful. Can't believe a bunch of immature 4 year olds are in medical school. Georgetown is truly a joke.

  • @Lolercopterz

Why can't you high five over a dead body? Because the dead body will get offended?

  • @blahblahblahman

Yes obviously... when it comes back to life in the apocalypse you don't want to be on it's hit list.

  • @Lolercopterz wow ithink u want ur surgeon to be happy when there helping u or they could not care and acccidently kill u

  • @blahblahblahman Because if you're going to "make a difference in peoples lives" you should have more respect for the deceased than to high-five your buddy over a corpse.

  • @KoH4711 The deceased are deceased. Not living. They aren't going to know that your fellow students. Nobody's feelings are hurts.

  • @Gandhiablo lol I will

  • why is diz news? i tought they were supposed to do that. they are anatomy students..

  • wait..anatomy students are gross? do they not shower after messing around with cadavers?

  • Gross means large. As opposed to microscopic anatomy.

  • Haha.

My sister did that and she said that you always went home smelling like dead people. She hated that part haha.

  • wow

  • Comment removed

  • Gross (anatomy students)

  • im sorry i dont get it, there dying because of the economy? or are they getting paid for their bodies? dont understand what the economy has to do with people dying?

  • you get money when you sell your body to them, then when you die they take your body.

  • oh no crap, lol, man i gotta check into that!!

  • yeah its like free monies :)

  • people do not get money to donate their body to science... it is ILLEGAL for medical schools to pay money for bodies...

  • then what does it have to do with the economy

  • i doubt that people choosing to donate their bodies has much to do with the economy... if anything, people may choose to donate their body to science because all funeral expenses are paid by the university to which their body has been donated. however, people's families cannot donate a relative's body posthumously..

  • oh ok thanks for the info

  • @ItsDanCog Without cadavers it will make it increasingly difficult for students to gain experience that is needed to gain employment, thus would have a large affect on the economy. It has nothing to do with the donation process in any way.

  • i think it's because of funeral costs dude. a lot of money for that or donate the body to science. i dont think i'd want to burden my family with having to pay for all that, i'd already be dead! lol

  • The family don't have to pay to buried the body.
