I build 1/35 scale armor and am currently building a late 1940's Super Sherman or Isherman. I was wondering if anyone could tell me why Israel painted various points of the tank red. Things like guards, pick up points, handles, etc.

I've been unable to find out why this is done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
