Betty Botter bought some butter, "But," she said, "the butter's bitter". "If I put it in my batter, it will make my batter bitter." So she bought a bit of butter that was better than her bitter butter, and she put it in her batter, and the batter was not bitter, so 'twas better Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter.
@PandaStoleMyBrother I make my own sweet butter all the time and drink the buttermilk unless I plan on using the buttermilk in recipes. Do you prefer sweet or salted butter?
After watching good eats I always want to eat the thing Alton is making. In this case,we didn"t have any toast so I ate a few tablespoons of raw butter....not the best idea ever. :P
that is def. not a drum microphone...that is a sm57 and it is good for about anything...it is not the best when it comes to vocal stuff but it is ok....you probably recognize it from it miking a snare drum or a guitar amp or an overhead for a drum set it has a wide veriety of uses...along with the sm58 it is the industries best mic
I'm actually dismayed that AB dissuaded the drinking of fresh buttermilk - it's a wonderful drink that's sweet and much lower in fat than cream or perhaps even homo / whole milk (depending on the efficiency of the cream to butter conversion).
Depends on *which* buttermilk you're talking about, the one that's the leftovers from buttermaking, or the one that's just regular milk inoculated with a bacterial culture, that you find in the store in the green carton. They're NOT the same. The green-carton stuff is the tangy stuff you're talking about. I soak chicken in it before breading and frying it. Actually, so does Alton.

Oh a shit load of useless processes, to make our butter, nothing but dead product. Yeah great idea kill all the good bacteria. Oh I guess butter is a new age product , cause people didnt have the pasturising homogenising machines. Hmm how did the people made butter hundreds of years ago I guess they didnt.
all processes which are done to butter right now, are simply to make it 1) last longer 2) to actually create more products out of butter. However all processes which are done take away essential nutriens and kill cultures which help our digestiion, and which have more benefits for our system. When I made that comment I was being sarcastic by saying that "people havent had butter before" We are eating mostly flavored creams, and drinking white flavored water a.k.a (modern day milk)
The reason Pasteur invented the Pateurizing process was so fewer people would get sick/die from the bacteria in raw milk. Of course it's better, but how many of us live where we can get fresh milk every other day? Here in Italy, the milk doesn't taste any better but expires every four days!
It doesn't absorb into the food very much, and unless you are on a strict diet, a very small portion of trans fat will not be harmful. I use it for frying when I do not have an oil which has a high smoke point like canola to use with butter, so it does not burn.
whatever people say Butter & Margarine are both not healthy

loschain 2 years ago
@loschain The 57 is an excellent mic for many purposes! Many engineers have said that if they could only have one mic it would be a 57.

Margarine is good for frying flour dredged bluegills. Other then that, I don't use it.
LRMNmeyer 3 years ago
absolutly not, margarine contains trans fat and is basically toxic

Neither do I, we use alot of it, so it's not a waste of money. AB just doesn't like uni-tasking equipment.
