I've got an alternate fix. Open the door to your house. Open the door to your car. Turn the key in the ignition. Take the stupid DVD player to Goodwill, and go to Costco and get a Sony. It works! I can't believe Bose did this to me.
Here is an update. My DVD-ROM was finally beyond repair and TOSHIBA doesn't manufacture the exact DVD-ROM anymore.
The closest replacement I could find was Toshiba SD-M1912 DVD-ROM which I bought in after-market.
I was able to successfully replace the old DVD-ROM with "Toshiba SD-M1912 "
Please be advised that the plastic cover at the end of the drive tray will not fit to SD-M1912. I had to carve out some pieces of plastic from the SD-M1912 drive tray.
wow , you are brave ! for what we had to pay for these , we shouldn't have to do anything like that ! but , i know , you know how to do it , so good on you ! i love the music it put out !
