where are you getting 4000 pounds? the z06 weighs 3100 pounds plus driver and the r1 around 475 lbs. STOCK z06 does 0-60 in 3.7 and an r1 just under 3. I realize if the bike can get a decent launch it should maybe pull for a little, but I don't think you realize how fast a stock z06 is let alone supercharged
I have an r1, I can keep up up to around 140 mph with 600whp (approx), after that well it depends what the corvette has under the hood :/. This rider should have definite had no problem keeping up, up through at least 8 seconds, as per winning, well that depends on the vettes mods :/

@seeroy1986 You are also talking about close to a 4,000lb difference in weight. If you do the math the R1 should have burned him through 100mph. After that the Z06 top end power should be able to keep up. That was a terrible rider who had no idea how to properly launch a liter bike.

This car isn't stock, the Corvette will have better traction off the line, and it will have a higher ultimate top speed since most liter bikes can't make it past 185mph or so (including speedometer error). Even with an amazingly competent rider, it's not totally unbelievable that a 600+ hp car with a 200+mph top speed will be faster in a drag race. Bikes are faster than most anything else on the road, but they aren't faster than everything.

i love the vette from when i was a kid and i do ride a 50th anniversary r1 and even with a bad launch the r1 sould of beathe vette, i love vettes dont get me wrong i have a c3 and c4
R1's run low 10's out of the box. It's not difficult to put a Z06 into the 9's with a supercharger; this is hardly a shocking video. It's been many years since bikes were *that* much faster than cars.

That didn't even look like a race. The Z06 didn't sound like he was trying and the R1 definetly wasn't. A supercharged Z06 vs an R1 would be a good race...a C6 z06 goes mid 11s stock with drag radials and a good driver, so throw on a supercharger and some drag radials or even slicks and its a 10 second car. The R1 is a low 10 second bike...but after 100mph, the vette will reel that bike in...and before you flame, I own a 08 R1 and a Saleen Supercharged Mustang (550whp)

it is very clear that the R1 rider did NOT even get any kind of launch at all! the vette takes off right after the rider hits the brake. the rider was not even in a tucked position. his rpm's were likely sitting at 3-5k when they should have been at 10K at least! We all know that the launch is the key in drag races.
Corvette must have been running fairly low boost to not have spun first at all. (~5psi?). That bike needs the RIDER mod bad. Corvettes need about 800rwhp to over take 1000cc bikes from a 60 roll and even more power from a dig, especially if your just running autocross tires.
to the idiot that said bikes are junk...stick to farming my redneck friend...the reality is this R1 would smoke the corvette... I own both... check out my videos.

The rider of the R1 was WEAK. He should have passed the vette on 1st gear to say the least. The race should have been a close one but either could have taken it in gear 5 or 6.

Let me just say this Z06 is badass and could give a bike a good run from a dig. If the R1 was ridden even close to it's potential. The R1 should have been right with this car.
If the Z06 runs 11.3 @ the dragstrip. The R1 ridden properly should run low 11's or high 10's on the street. The bike does not need a dragstrip to launch perfect.

Corvette must have been running fairly low boost to not have spun first at all. (~5psi?). That bike needs the RIDER mod bad. Corvettes need about 800rwhp to over take 1000cc bikes from a 60 roll and even more power from a dig, especially if your just running autocross tires.

все дело в зацепе) на 330+ покрышках реализовать старт на вете легче, хотя и очень сложно, а тело на мотыке просто стартовать не умеет. глупо делать выводы с этого. в идеальных условиях литр честно за свои 2.5-2.7 поедет, ну а вет этот за 3+ :)

@JabariXL ZR1s don't trap 140 bone stock. Thats why stock for stock they will get beat by a bike in the 1/4. Liter bikes trap 135-140mph stock. Busas trap 145mph stock. I love my corvettes but you can't deny the power to weight of a bike.

The rider of the R1 was WEAK. He should have passed the vette on 1st gear to say the least. The race should have been a close one but either could have taken it in gear 5 or 6.

Let me just say this Z06 is badass and could give a bike a good run from a dig. If the R1 was ridden even close to it's potential. The R1 should have been right with this car.
If the Z06 runs 11.3 @ the dragstrip. The R1 ridden properly should run low 11's or high 10's on the street. The bike does not need a dragstrip to launch perfect.
