Part 1: This is a video? I never understood these guys. They are a killer rock band but get lumped into a art band category. They are a basic hard ass rock band. I always liked them. Plus they opened for my first gig with The Real Kids. We were The Bumblasters. I already knew them. All the kool catz knew them. I totally sucked and thought I blew it. But everyone likes my drunken excitement and I get the job. Part 2: is cuming! taxiboysdrummer
thx for this- i had forgotten them until lately- they along with wire redefined what was classified as "punk"- led to great experiments like the minutemen and husker du. and maybe the replacements.
this weekend the stooges are opening for some outfit named KILLERS (i have heard their HITS (?)- WTF!
i'm going, but only to see iggy- when these suposed headliners show up i will leave and enjoy a libation.
Actually, this isn't my footage. It's from a DVD called "Not a Photograph," which is an official band-sanctioned release. Thank you for the compliment though. :)
I've got another early live Mission of Burma video up on YouTube, which I also got from the same DVD.
God, I have seen them twice already and it's amazing that the audience is completely dead in this video. They aren't joking when they said they had little audience response asides from their fans.
ha..ha..I filmed this and let me tell you that the Paradise Club was a small sit down venue. You get up and show "audience response" and then get thrown out of the club. So the audience was not dead.. just dealing with the stupid rules....
Music back then was awesome. Roger Miller is so talented. Never got his due. Too Bad.

were these guys decades ahead of their time, or did the progress of music retire on the day they came to be?

Most MOB CD's double as handy paint strippers. Their music shreds.

Wow. That was cool. I saw them in 1981 in Atlanta.

My thoughts exactly, xyloplax. I could not have sat during MoB in 1980, my legs would turn to bone.

I just realized you might have been talking to user pravda01 and not me. But my point still stands, this footage is readily available on DVD.

@mirf59 You should not think of such an act.
