As for keys, a lot of the linux distro's have no key either, try them out. you might learn a couple of things about computers. What Linux does now that OSX does not. (Compiz Fusion, check it out)

When you buy a CD, you expect to be able to play it on any CD Player on the market. If I purchase an MP3 then I expect to be able to play it on any MP3 Player on the market, as for copying DVD's, ever heard of dd? As for monitoring, little nasty secret of OSX, It reports back to base what you do on your mac. I'm not too happy with apple knowing what I use a computer for, as for media Players, most Windows Users use VLC. Try it out, it plays everything, even DVD's and you can rip with it too.

Doesn't Final Cut Pro have product keys. Anyway, reason for no product keys and registration is because the computer it's self is a product key. No other computer is allowed except a Mac to install OS X. Althought this is great for the Mac user not to bother with it, it does cause problems like Psystar for example. I think Apple will need to at least move to product keys especially once they start selling more in China.

That is not DRM though, you can still run the songs on any computer you own. It stores your email so that if you upload the song to p2p sites they can trace it back to the pirate. Apple is a hardware company. They don't require activation on OSX because they already sold you the hardware. If they opened up OSX and allowed you to put it on something besides a Mac, you could bet the farm they'd have to require some type of activation.

UAC: Windows 7 has UAC, default settings, it will only prompt up when you install a program and not when you change anything like it is now in Vista. It has four settings from Full setting like in Vista to having it completely off.

Yes I agree. There DRM is shit anyway, within the first day of Spore being on sale the pirates had cracked the DRM on it. DRM only hurts legal users, pirates will always crack it. You might as well just sell it DRM free because the people who pay will pay, the people who don't will crack it. Wrong by A MILE. In it's first two years of introduction, about 1.4 million DVD players were sold. In it's first two years, Blu-Ray Players sold 2.5 million copies.

So in sales, Blu-Ray>DVD.

Part of that 2.5 million is also including PS3 sales and computer hardware. When DVD came out, it was just DVD players, the PS2 console didnt come out until about 2-3 years after DVD players were released.

So of course blu-ray's 2 years of sales outweigh's DVDs 2 years of sales because more devices supported it initially. Plus back when DVD came out, there wasnt as huge of a demand for high definition as there is today.
