  • On the first listen, i kindof thought this is the long lost music i've been looking for for a long long time somewhere deep down in my head. And i just can't stop listening...can't stop listening.

  • AAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

  • M Ward fans, check out these guys! go to reverbnation . com / thehumanorchestra

  • M. Ward is a music god and genius. Period.

  • Brilliant.

  • Feel like when I hear this song I should be in cafe by myself, late night, rainy, in Paris.

  • @mrwibbles1... Same boat, and I agree. He's probably one of the best artist I've heard period... He's a wizard it seems at simplicity. He says a lot with very few words, and his musicality is just as powerful as his lyricism, I know I've listened to at least 13 songs of his this first few hours of finding him. Find 'Chinese Translation' if you haven't by now, and watch the video. With that said I pray that you are a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds fan... ???

  • lol

  • thank you.. m.ward..

  • God, what a beautiful masterpiece... It hurts...

  • M. Ward, Conor Oberst, Jeff Tweedy, Sufjan Stevens and Osvaldo Paese are the best songwriters of today.

  • @MaxFillio There are a lot more out there.

  • I love this artist

  • M. Ward's music is so beautiful. It's like he picked thru my brain and discovered what kind of music I love and then wrote it down. It's perfect.

And the last line just speaks to me for some reason. "I wrote this song just to remember the endless summer in your laugh."

    It's just perfect.

    Okay I'll stop gushing. :)

  • you knew what i meant.....

  • Strange how I have always been in the know about who is really worth paying attention to, but somehow M Ward escaped my notice. I loved stuff where he played a part, like Howe Gelb's Arizona Amp and Alternator, but it was only a few months ago that I actually discovered that M Ward is probably one of the best songwriters out there.

    His performances are good too.

I'm really happy that M Ward is doing his thing.

  • I want to hold time forever with You, My Shell X

  • There is nothing I don't like about this man's music.

  • God, i love Matt... <3

sure am lucky to have seen him perform twice, and once with Zooey.

  • beauttiful song

  • Dude, this song reminds me so much of this winter when I got this album along with a bunch of bright eyes stuff. It was a time when i was really thinking about a lot about all the shit that was goin on in my life and whenever i hear this song it always takes me back to then. Same thing with the entire Post-war album, only that reminds me of the summer. M. Ward is honestly one of the best musicians out there today.

  • @99centstore I love/hate when albums do that

  • that was a nice song, it kind of remembers me of the long and winding road

  • I love the Light and Peaceful flow in the music..:-)...

  • just lovely!

  • I live right by the tram! I can't wait to see him in October with Monsters Of Folk.

  • I wrote this song just to remember the endless endless summer in your laugh. <3

  • This is the the OHSU tram! Oh, Portland, I love you.

  • eccezionale

  • the last line is from crosby, stills & nash 'lady of the island', which blew me away. brilliant.

  • I just came back from watching them in concert, in Manchester. Simply brilliant.

  • nice. i'm seeing m.ward in concert in 2 weeks here in the states. one of the most anticipated shows of the year for me. so so excited

  • I go back and forth. Some songs of his really move me from this album and others not so much. Overall, he's worth checking out.

    Good album from last year.

  • absolutely brilliant!

If I had been a girl, I would definetely be crying by now..

  • you know guys CAN cry....actually Im a girl and I think its cute when a guy can cry without being embarrased about it

  • ya, thats all good too know, but other guys dont feel the same way haha.

  • this guy sounds much better live than in studio recordings. he opened up for norah jones in 2007, and although she is my favorite artist, he arguably put on a better show.

  • wow!

  • this dude is the fuck

  • the endless summer in your laugh....

very profound. found this through the cherry ghost myspace, they recommended it. glad i checked it out now.

  • what a beautiful song, this is the first time I hear it and I live it!!1

  • Im going to go see him april 26th I can't wait

I am a very huge fan.

  • I am so jelous of you right now. I wish he'd come down to Texas *sigh*.

  • He played in Austin about 4 times during SXSW. Where were you?

  • its so beautiful

  • He's very Tom Waits. This is why I really like his music.

  • Discovered him when I went to see Norah Jones...

Can't stop listening to him ever since!

  • ahhh i love him!

  • he reminds me of something but I can't put my finger on it. I thought Billy holiday for a second but I don't know.

  • He has a little bit of John Lennon, early 70s style, IMO.

  • well, he uses a bunch of late sixty's/early seventy's music as inspiration in this album (the same way he used early to mid fifty's music as inspiration for "Post War"), so you'll hear a lot of John Lennon and Bob Dylan in it.

  • Stunning.

  • I heard this for the first time today on WWUH's ambience show! I love it! I heard of M. Ward before from an NPR show, but I never heard any tunes until today! Such a dreamy tune. Love the words!

  • i love m. ward and portland especially mixed together

  • just beautiful!

  • vomit never mention coldplay ever

  • wonderful video - music- composition

  • Absolutely Amazing.

    M. Ward on David Letterman on 2/17/09 in Oregon.

  • Love that M. Ward! Gorgeous.

The footage is of the aerial tram in Portland, Oregon. It connects the Oregon Health Sciences University campus to the South Waterfront Development District below. It's a great ride when it isn't packed!

  • wow, I'm lost for words as well. Beautiful!

  • hauntingly beautiful.

  • same as below : speechless

  • speechless

  • Simplemente, no puedo dejar de escucharlo.

  • amazing

  • brilliant! M.ward never let me down,

those songs worth to be listened for hundreds of times

  • Ah there's nothing better than sitting back, lighting up and just relaxing to one of M. Ward's records : )

  • He visto este video tantas veces y no me cansa. Me hizo llorar, fue algo indescriptible, hermoso.

  • Yes, and it sounds great, what else ? I like "To Save Me" with Jason Lytle, it's something new for M.Ward, with this keyboard, pure Lytle's touch.

  • NPR is offering a free stream of the whole album at their website right now

  • All right, the OHSU tram getting some indie cred!

  • amazing, amazing work. please come to minneapolis soon!!

  • it' so beautiful :) i like very much this song.

  • beautiful ! <3 :)

  • I love the solo albums of Mr. Ward. Now this new song is so promising, showing how inventive a guy can be even when he´s diving into the past. It´s a breathtaking song, ethereal singing, great treatment of strings - and a fantastic black-and-white-video. Gorgeous, indeed!!!

  • Listen to some more music and then make comparisons... No one sounds like Coldplay anyway. Coldplay just sounds like everyone else... or tries too at least...

  • What a great tune... Timeless

  • oh man. it sounds just perfect.

  • Timeless! and grounded; M.'s compositions laces through forgotten dna ~ tying things up sweetly by leaving things Wide Open.

I thank him, with a smile, also, for tying himself to the lyrics a bit thou i hope he always sings with the moment as does so beautifully.

  • M. Ward did an awesome job of making the Portland Tram look like it is out of some dystopian film made in the 60's based on a book written in the 30's. beautiful.

  • a very fine decription of the visuals!

  • Every little thing he does is magic.

  • Yeah fuck Coldplay. M. Ward is on another level.

  • Woahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I mean Coldplay is one of the best massively popular bands. But they don't compare to this at all.

  • Fxxk C. ronaldo, Messi is on another level

  • Stop your bullshit. It's magic. Can't wait to hear more...

  • this is something between coldplay and Sigur Ros

  • sounds like all you music knowledge is "somewhere between coldplay and sigur rós.

  • u should have listened all songs of M.ward, coldplay and sigur ros

i think they are all in different spirits

  • I don't see the comparison one tiny bit, though i like Coldplay.

    M. Ward though, is fucking brilliant, in every way possible.

I'm so incredibly stoked for this album

  • Don't get out much do you?

  • What a constructive comment

  • Yeah greatness!

  • love it
