Great game but base construction can be a lot more advanced and epic scale than this... Nice try I think... my first bases looked similar but with better power management...

Here is the beginning of an example of how I construct a base in Normal Mode...

I think I can make a bigger base but it requires a lot of patience and testing of different strategies :)

Which version is this?

In 1.05c you can actually press x to sell all inactive harvesters..

And I did'nt quite follow why you would put out so many harvesters.

It's easier expanding allot, and protecting where necessary.

And evetually protecting your entire base (even with the maximum expansion :)

Am starting to toy with power circulation it seems to run better than your grid but I wasn't laying as many err harverster things I may have to try that see how thigns go I normally end up hemmed in on all sides with no more resources somewhere between 65 and 80

Some other hints: Use the energy links to move energy to the towers, it makes the network more efficient (click and drag on the energy links). Also, when the boss group appears, try to blow it up with an overcharged energy link (check the buttons that are in the upper left corner).
