  • where can i get myself one of these ha

  • And is nickle plating affected by heat?

  • Hey just asking anyone, is it expensive to get somethin nickle plated

  • was this originally nickel plated- this really is a beautiful piece of Colt history- excellent pistol my friend

  • Hey I just picked up a nickel 1903. It has a couple small places of flaking but overall it's in pretty good shape. It is pretty cloudy though. Should I just use flitz and kind of hand scrub it with a cloth?

  • Just discovered your channel. As a collector of all things Colt, I enjoyed it a great deal. I have 1903 versions I and III (blued) and am looking for a nice nickel plated piece. Have subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work and practical information.

  • @lakelex More videos are on the way and thanks for watching.

  • Sorry for my ignorance, but what is the advantage of the nickle plating/finish? I belive it makes the gun heavier if i am not mistaken.

  • @EmpireIraq The advantage is the finish will not rust. Plus they look really nice! The weight the plating would add would be minimal. Thanks for watching!!!

  • dear santa.....

  • glad I found your channel... It's great to get a detailed look at these historic pistols. Here in Ma. colt's are not on the carry list and are unavailable to the consumer unless pre '98 I believe. Great reviews and demonstrations!

  • @ITHINKUREALESUK

thanks for the comments and watching my videos!

  • Quick question.. what do u clean this gun with? Because some things can be harmful to the nickel.....

  • @rfrrfrr

The method recommended from Al De John, Superintendent , Custom Gun Shop, Colt Firearms:

"Use a non abrasive silver or gold polish to remove figerprints, smudges, and tarnish from most plated surfaces. Colt's uses "Flitz" metal polish. The polish should be used with a very soft flannel cloth or jewelers cloth made special for this purpose."

This gun had powder residue internaly but was mostly clean on the outside. It didn't take a lot of effort.
