I always thought Ralph is the one who was the most stupid person in the movie! If he really loved Meggie as much as he says he does he should have married her. Yeah Paddy loved her, but he was too enveloped in his job and his boys, When she grew up, he ended up being nothing but heartbreak. He treated her like a toy, played with her, tossed her away,played with her, tossed her away..etc.
