I truly love the initiative but I really feel the urge to intervene here.
MARTIAL ARTS AND MARTIAL ARTS TRICKS CANNOT BE MARKETED AS THE SAME ENSEMBLE. They're 2 different things (art of war vs. an aesthetic art form), different intentions (fight vs. showcasing), different origins (tricking comes from martial arts), different communities and more importantly, different applications.
This American tendency to ruin traditional conventions in martial arts has to stop.
Roland and Crew. Great job with getting these kids interested in doing something. The kids attitudes and abilities are outstanding. you have given them great memories for life. Although as a lifelong Martial Artist and University professor I was quite taken a back when in over 17 min of video not once was the African-Brazilian Martial Art Capoeira mentioned. Please don't do you kids the disservice of thinking that none of this has been done. Expose them to the Root of their learning. Greywolf.
Why would we need this? I dont need a new brand to show every one: hey I'm a tricker, i can do a backflip. If i wanna look like a tricker I wear either a big penguin, get some crazy hair, or just run out naked. And btw this ALL has been done before! Hyper doesnt want to help tricking, you dont even know tricking! ("RAISE" ... lol) You just smell some money in the community!
Just wanted to say I am honored and proud to be a Hyper Pro! The documentary is awesome and I am lucky to have been chosen to represent the youth in martial arts and tricking today. Thank you HYPER and the whole crew! -Kensi
This was an amazing project to work on. I'm surprised we got it down to basically 15 minutes. There is so much other good stuff on the cutting room floor!!! Keep up the great work.... and thanks to the whole Hyper crew. -Jordan
Hyper's other video works deserve so many more views! What they're doing as representatives of martial arts tricking is so very important and thoughtful. Respect has to go out to these world champions who want to share their knowledge and love for their sport. Not to mention the video work itself boasts great polish and professionalism. It's a damn shame the newer generations of trickers are growing less appreciative of the martial art roots of the sport. Thankfully Hyper's set to change this
Fantastic, I want to be able teach that to my young students, Mr. Osborne and the martial art athletes in this video make that possible. I thank all of you..
Firstly,Congrats! It's so difficult to find a group who have interest in trickzters. Here in Brazil we don't have this.Martial Arts Tricking is not recognized yet as well as we need some people like you. Most of us don't have a good place to train, because of that,a lot of people give up tricking. It's so difficult to train alone(like me) and sometimes you feel unmotivated to continue but seeing videos like this one give some hope.Anyway,I've already subscribe your channel.Good luck in your project
Martial arts wasn't cool when I went to middle/high school. It wasn't until college until everyone changed their minds. The Karate Kid crane kick, wearing "numbchucks" around your neck, screaming at blocks of wood perception needs to die. Let's hope the new generation of kids start seeing martial arts like the way Hyper does it.
Great video ... very informative and motivating. It was very well made and eye opening. Martial arts is just as amazing as BMX, skateboarding and surfing and takes just as much dedication and hard work ... if not more ... and it deserves the same recognition. Thanks for working so hard to bring martial arts and these amazing competitors into the spot light!
This is killer! Great to see some of the behind the scenes stuff from the Hyper Pros!
