  • No radar gun, someone did do a Doppler on the video and said it was in the 125 mph range.

    And thank you,on kind word.

  • Nice flying. Did anyone ever clock it with a radar gun? I'd be interested to see the top speed.

  • @theleabres get RCSpeedo for iPhone or Android, it's a very neat program, you can measure speeds at the airfield and on videos.

  • Bloody awesome

  • i put a 3200kv motor on 3slipo on mine and it was uncontrolable at more than 1/3 throttle. it would just wiggle all over the place until i lost control of it. turns out the 7x3 prop i had on it was too long. i put a 5x3 prop on it and it flies beautiful now. i have a 5x4.5 prop on the way for more speed.

  • @999benhonda

just be carefull on the hand launch with the smaler props.Don't hand launch at full throttle, use 1/2 throttle and launch then slowly roll throttle open.

  • @MrAkjrm thanx. i am waiting on a replacement canopy now. on my last flight i tried to show off and put the radio on full-rate. crashed her good.

i also bought a 5.25x6 prop. should give some good speed. i want getting as much speed as i should with the 5x3, considering its a 3200kv motor and a 3s 30c lipo.

  • How the heck could you see that white plane against those skies??

  • Thank you for your reply! This helps a lot!

  • what Kv is that motor?

    Thank you,

    Mike

  • @1magicvent

    Its is a 2450 kv motor on a 4s lipo,and I now have it a FunJet on 5s lipo with a 4.25x4.25 at about 750 watts.

I only use full throttle for 5 sec bursts because the motor is rated for 400 watts.

  • that is insane lol!!

  • Have you an problems with torque roll? i've put a 2836 3700 kv motor in mine but can't get it launched.

  • @noelywire

Yes I did. Give it only 1/4 throttle and throw it at a 45 deg. angle when it reaches it's peak and starts to go on it's down slope, then apply full throttle and it will fly without torque roll.

  • do you fly the skyfun with the transmitter in the n or 1 possition?

  • ROCKET with Turnigy 2836 3700 kv, 4s 40 c 2250 mAh Rhino battery, Turnigy 80 Amps esc and 4,5 x 4,5 prop. 34800 t/min, 238 km/h pitch speed, 90 amps peak, 1330 Watts, both motor and esc a little hot but no problem. Very stable at high speed, good model. Except the f**** cockpit : needs to be FIRMLY fixed to the fuselage, mine disappeared somewhere despite the fact I made a solid fixing system in the front, but not in the back. Broke propeller and motor mount.

  • are you clocking 200mph? coz it is so fast

  • I second the onboard video request, man. The clear canopy is perfect for housing a little spycam. Let's see it! Awesome setup; the camera dude couldn't even keep up. lol 5 stars.

  • AWESOME, i think it is time i put a bigger motor on my skyfun too.

  • jihaa ! great fast setup, did you do any extra reinforments on the body/wings ? Very nice job.

  • The only reinforcement is that I put a 6mm carbon tube in wing. The plane comes with channel for carbon but none supplied or instructed to install in manuel.

  • good idea putting in the carbon tube, any picture available from that ? Would come in handy since I would like to know if you used the channel the plane came with or did you cut another channel.

  • @beverke7

I put a video up showing the carbon placement.

  • It's never too fast, and it's not fun if you don't get the pucker effect!

  • way 2 fast

  • Tikes! You can only see it for 2-3seconds before it leaves visual range! Put a camera on that thing!
