One of my nieces will be starting college next year and I intend to give her the following advice:

If anyone should ever tell you that you are not in a designated free speech zone… stand tall, look them straight in the eye and say: “This is the United States of America… the whole country is a free speech zone you fucking fascist.”

for me university rules must be followed just like a book of code of ethics and you cant change that and make your own rule

for me we should follow university rules and this woman faces a prelimenary hearing of violating student code of conduct and university official told the protester that they could be remove or charge for disciplinary action

free speech means speech that is protected by the first amendment to the u.s. constitution then i think this woman trangress or violated the free speech zone and demonstrated her fulminate outside free speech zone that is why she has charge with lack of respect under the north carolina university speech code and she believe to protect the right of individual on campus

You guys are amazing.  I went to college in the early to mid-90's and the "indoctrination machine" for PC views was already gaining power.

It amazed me. I had been this open minded guy who had no problem with color, gender, sexual orientation etc.

I went to college and was suddenly a white male racist sexist oppressor who "owed" for past transgressions I had not taken part of, had not supported, and abhorred.

Great work FIRE - a sincere thanks to your voice of reason.
