Purchase both the THUNDERSTICK albums + previously unreleased bonus tracks, restored and remastered, reissued as a single CD from Heaven and Hell Records: "Echoes from the Analogue Asylum". Thunderstick is finally back!
Maiden was listed twice on that freakin album....Amazing compilation...the Greatest of the Great NWOBHM! Samsons seriously underrated though...they deserve more recognition!
The jazzy vibe here is so cool and was very different for the NWOBHM era. Such a great song! The pianist is Colin Towns, btw, who did a bunch of records with the Gillan band and now scores films. Totally unique style and talented beyond words! R.I.P., Paul Samson & Chris Aylmer.
The first time i heard this song, i could hear Isaac Hayes or Barry White saying somethin smooth over the drums and bass after their first go round. I loved Di'Anno until I heard Samson. Di'Anno has the high notes on him, but that goes out the door when the overall timbre is compared. Plus you forget about Di'Anno's high notes after Bruce is heard.
Ground-breaking stuff and been on my iPod since I bought it. In my opinion, by far and away the very best group from the NWOBHM. I always think "what might have been" if Iron Maiden hadn't nicked Bruce! Saw Samson live several times and I still think Paul was one of the best and most under-rated guitarists ever. Check out his take on Voodoo Chile on here. Oh and also Mr Rock 'n' Roll - the first Samson single I bought and a great song too. Amazing memories listening to all this after 30 years...
dude..I first heard this on the album metal for muthas !!! killer stuff...praying mantis...angelwitch, widowmaker...iron maiden was on that album too!!
@jimmya3333 I have that album as well, Samson of course featured former maiden drummer Clive Burr before he left to Join Maiden unti he was sacked from the band in 1982 and his now sadly suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.

Prefer Nicki Moore singing it. Had it on a 4 track vinyl, must dig it out.

@bigjt141 Yeah. It's Paul Samson singing. His voice is perfect on this. And it's an amazing song.

In many ways, I like the three first Samson albums better than Iron Maiden's first album and Killers. They were rougher and rawer.

HOly crap, Paul samson is a great singer!
