I just saw Keb Mo this weekend at the Helena Blues Festival...if you have a chance,.don't miss the opportunity to experience his beautiful music....I have a friend in Berlin that is going to get to see him next month...he is loved all over the world. For me he brought a message of peace and love.
We used this as our first dance song, it's a shame no one else ever heard of him at the wedding. The DJ loved us for it though, change of pace from the norm.
call it whatever ya like, this guy goes straight to my soul, he's amazing. I saw him with Bonnie Raitt in Deer Valley, Utah & that was a beautiful evening. Thanks for the video he deserves notice.
great video, the commentary is worthless and an annoyance when I'm trying to hear the song. It's not like he was saying anything profound. I'd like to see Keb Mo do a project with Bela Fleck!
Chrstopher..Keb IS a Blues Artist, and proud of it. He taught a Blues Music class at Harvard as a guest instructor. A very talented Artist with his own presonal style of blues and the perfect voice to go with it. Your message connotes that Blues as somehow LESS than "folk" music. He plays bango, Mandolin, and every type of guitar, but his primary genre is Blues.
By far one of the best folk artists around, hands down.. just because he's black and sings slow, you should not label him a blues artist. Judge him for his craft...
christopherdaw - GREAT point I really didn't think of. I do admit I have labeled him blues, but if ya think about it, he's JUST as much folk as the blues as well as some pop because its sort of a contemporary sound as well.
My favorite Keb Mo' song is "Lullaby Baby Blues". It's on his Grammy award winning CD from a few years ago. It's not very long...and I have put it on a portable CD player, and hit "repeat", and placed the CD player in my niece's room, so that it will rock her to sleep. It's a great, great song.
for me if the artist or the song is so well known to "PEOPLE"..its a tell-tail sign of how average they are. young&old they all love stuff like..dogs or cats..burger and chicken..its not how popular amongst teenagers either..if u watch tv or listen to the radio..and u see young new bands..u think they are on tv ..so they are good...no! wrong.
wrong thinking! if TV and radio is the ur only music souce u only know what "majority" people like..dogs and cats aren't the only animals u could like.
tell me about blues...do we have to pretend to be someone to be a blues player? what u know about blues..what u know about life? lack of character? i think u are either pretending to know about him or u cannot tell black or white.but i agree with u on one thing...yeah he is a great guy!
why are you taking my opinion so personally? his music doen't evoke emotion. it, like his wardrobe, seems cliched. he seems like someone who sings the blues as a business decision rather than a calling. the blues is an expression of struggle and pain an his musicdoesn' have that quality. you asked.
'perpetual blues machine","u can love urself",etc.
they are about sorrow in life.did u know he came from a broken family,he himself divorced and has got a son..he sings in album "Big Wide Grin".im same.igot a daughter...u know what. u cannot just keep mourning over ur unhappiness..unless u want to stay safe in traditional blues.cont'..
cos u dont know whatelse to do!.i became to know since i became a father..u wanna give them a hope..coz u love them.u know how many people get encouraged by his songs..but i dont expect u can understand that yet.to me..u dont seem to know about real life.
