@Moviesoundtrackguy go to amazon, or your local book store and order "Scott Joplin: Collected Piano Works" this has every piece for piano that Joplin published (two works, Reflection Rag and Silver Swan Rag were published after his death). there is also "Joplin - Complete piano rags" by Schirmer but it leaves out the marches and waltzes.
wow thats suprising. almost ANY collection of ragtime will have "ragtime dance" . i was looking at amazon the other day because my copy of "Scott Joplin Collected Piano Works is getting old and starting to fall apart. and they have it. so check there. if you cant find it there you can always go to Barnes and Noble and order about ANY book published. Hope you find it! "Classic Piano Rags" is anoter real good book with James Scott and Joe Lamb works too
Excellent work - it is a *tough* piece of ragtime like gladioulus. I don't think the mic does you justice. You seem to be more at the edge of you technical limit on this than gladious which is a suprise, but although the left hand does 'more' than most ragtime pieces it is the right hand that has more harmonics to do than usual so I think you are Beethoven and not a Chopin listening in :) Good stuff though. Many people are too short with the pedal here, you get it right, perfect if u get tighter
That was a Great Performed Rag dude, you are really good! I like this video from all the rest that tried to play scott joplin ragtime dance. keep it up! XD
Really nice perfomance-!!-in my opinion the reason that this is good is because the piece was played as Joplin wrote it---so many who play Joplin add there own interpretations---most of these "interpretations" are not so great--Joplin wrote in his own "School of ragtime"(1908) that the "Joplin RAGS" lose their magic when the notes are changed ---thanks for posting this--by the way for all the curious--this version is a shorter 1906 piano version of Joplin's 1899 ballet--(published 1902)
Thank you! I've been playing since I was 7... about 25 years or so. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to improve much over the last 15 or so years =(
I've heard a few pianists and bands play the song version with the first two strains intact. One band even had a singer singing it, but the first strain's lyrics were changed considerably to be sanitized into Political Correctness.
good preformance, i didn't hear/see the "stamping" for every beat[2 per measure then] for the last two sections of the song.. that 'stamp' adds good detail... otherwise, it was excellent!
Thanks Mark... actually if you listen close (and watch my leg), I'm tapping my foot on the piano stand. Didn't want to stomp out of respect for my downstairs neighbors =)
I would say that although it's great playing, it could be a bit nicer for the ears if you played a little slower. Thats really not a comp. People could better work out and enjoy the music. But I dont want to be rude, deep respect to you, and keep up the good work!
Great stuff. You have certainly listened in depth to Joshua Rifkin's rendition of this piece, I love that little turn that he does (and you do) in the first strain. Definitely more effective to stamp the foot in the stoptime section though which he doesn't do and you do, real solid performance man.
Very nice! I love this piece and haven't found many interpretations on YouTube. I think this is one of Joplin's hidden gems. Great performance!

It's easy to play Ragtime too fast and I think this is a tad too fast....
Not only for your fingers, but for the tune itself.
I was thinking of learning this one, just because it's a nice little tune. Joplin has so much great work... Thanks posting this.
