  • Very nice! I love this piece and haven't found many interpretations on YouTube. I think this is one of Joplin's hidden gems. Great performance!

  • You are really good, LOVE this piece.: )

  • 見つけたーーー!!!

    私の大好きな曲です!!!

    やっと見つけた…

    1年探しました…

    やっぱり素敵な曲ですv

  • Very nice. ^__^

How long did it take for you to play it perfectly?

  • Nice job - especially the speed. Not too fast at all, in my humble opinion. Thanks for posting!

  • great ! well playing !!!

  • Great interpretation, five stars!

  • Thx i love that u now anywhere to get dat sheet music? and wat grade is it?

  • @Moviesoundtrackguy go to amazon, or your local book store and order "Scott Joplin: Collected Piano Works" this has every piece for piano that Joplin published (two works, Reflection Rag and Silver Swan Rag were published after his death). there is also "Joplin - Complete piano rags" by Schirmer but it leaves out the marches and waltzes.

  • kool thx pretty obvious but yea couldn't find it

  • where you been looking?

  • internet

  • wow thats suprising. almost ANY collection of ragtime will have "ragtime dance" . i was looking at amazon the other day because my copy of "Scott Joplin Collected Piano Works is getting old and starting to fall apart. and they have it. so check there. if you cant find it there you can always go to Barnes and Noble and order about ANY book published. Hope you find it! "Classic Piano Rags" is anoter real good book with James Scott and Joe Lamb works too

  • Oh my gosh, I love this piece of music and I want to play it but I can't find any videos that show you how )':

  • @leylasoup video?? you need a video to show you how to play? try reading the sheet music

  • Excellent work - it is a *tough* piece of ragtime like gladioulus. I don't think the mic does you justice. You seem to be more at the edge of you technical limit on this than gladious which is a suprise, but although the left hand does 'more' than most ragtime pieces it is the right hand that has more harmonics to do than usual so I think you are Beethoven and not a Chopin listening in :) Good stuff though. Many people are too short with the pedal here, you get it right, perfect if u get tighter

  • PAY OUT 50 over・・・

  • wow!! aweomse! coo.! good job!!

  • That was a Great Performed Rag dude, you are really good! I like this video from all the rest that tried to play scott joplin ragtime dance. keep it up! XD

  • hot to have shhet?!?

  • its a song for exper.

  • THE STING!!!!!

  • Was this in The Sting? I know The Entertainer, and Pineapple rag where for sure..

  • yeah, it plays as the end credits come up :)

  • Wow thats really amazing!!! Your so good!

  • Awesome! And the way you tapped your foot near the end is just like in this one silent movie I saw once. Good job.

    ~~Ragtime~

  • Joplin asked to tap your foot ;)

  • Thank you! This helped a lot in learning this piece.

  • yo datz phrresh but i can play maple leaf rag

  • Great job!

  • Love it!! It made me so happy to this one performed!

  • great job!!!

  • AWESOME!! thanks for posting

  • he ll better play death metal....

  • Very well played. Joplins work is technically demanding (I know!)and not easy to get right.

  • Very nicely done!

  • Slow down, please.

  • No thanks, I think I like this speed.

  • Good speed :-)

  • nice job. You reach those big chords in the beginning no problem. My hands are too small =(

  • it was great

  • I do believe you were channeling Joplin's spirit. Superb job!

  • It's easy to play Ragtime too fast and I think this is a tad too fast....

Not only for your fingers, but for the tune itself.

I was thinking of learning this one, just because it's a nice little tune. Joplin has so much great work... Thanks posting this.

  • Really nice perfomance-!!-in my opinion the reason that this is good is because the piece was played as Joplin wrote it---so many who play Joplin add there own interpretations---most of these "interpretations" are not so great--Joplin wrote in his own "School of ragtime"(1908) that the "Joplin RAGS" lose their magic when the notes are changed ---thanks for posting this--by the way for all the curious--this version is a shorter 1906 piano version of Joplin's 1899 ballet--(published 1902)

  • Great job, Andy, thanks! How long do you play piano?

  • Thank you! I've been playing since I was 7... about 25 years or so. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to improve much over the last 15 or so years =(

  • But you did an awesome job at playing this!

  • I'd like to hear the 1902 version sometime. (this 1906 version cut off 2 pages)

  • I've heard a few pianists and bands play the song version with the first two strains intact. One band even had a singer singing it, but the first strain's lyrics were changed considerably to be sanitized into Political Correctness.

  • lol i play this on my cello.^^

  • l0lz z0mG 4wZ0m3 :D:D:D

  • great :-)

  • Oh, yum.

I used to be able to play this. . .

    Excellent job.

  • love it! great job!! this really will help me learn the song!

  • YOUR AMAZING!!!! WOOOW!

  • LOL!

I watched again and saw it...my neighbors downstairs get mad when all they hear is me playing scott joplin over and over and over lol

thanks for fillin' me in on that!

    -Mark-

  • good preformance, i didn't hear/see the "stamping" for every beat[2 per measure then] for the last two sections of the song.. that 'stamp' adds good detail... otherwise, it was excellent!

  • Thanks Mark... actually if you listen close (and watch my leg), I'm tapping my foot on the piano stand. Didn't want to stomp out of respect for my downstairs neighbors =)

  • excellent job

  • Awesome! I love the sound of your piano, it adds this feeling of being far away.... almost.

  • This makes me smile, it's excellent. Thanks very much, I'll use this to help me learn it.

  • nice job man! you play awesome!

have you ever tryed play maple leaf rag?

    cheers

  • Thank you! Yep, check my other videos for Maple Leaf.

  • super, you play very well , en tout cas mieux que moi enfoiré!!

  • genius just like joplin! jazzy! spazzy! like it!

  • Very nice! Luvit!

    Tom Warner= tdub1941

  • Very nice job. Would you mind if I used your playing for background music in my home videos?

  • No, I don't mind as long as you give me credit for the playing (and Scott Joplin for the music, of course)

  • just lovely

  • Splendid. One of my favourites.

  • I would say that although it's great playing, it could be a bit nicer for the ears if you played a little slower. Thats really not a comp. People could better work out and enjoy the music. But I dont want to be rude, deep respect to you, and keep up the good work!

  • hey, How can I get this score! I am been looking for it since long time ago!

  • It shouldn't be too hard to find on the internet or a sheet music store, but here's the book that I have: Scott Joplin All-Time Favorites.

  • That was great! Thank You!

  • well done... joplin´s tunes are just wonderful and you´ve done it just right. Keep up the good work

  • Great stuff. You have certainly listened in depth to Joshua Rifkin's rendition of this piece, I love that little turn that he does (and you do) in the first strain. Definitely more effective to stamp the foot in the stoptime section though which he doesn't do and you do, real solid performance man.

  • Thanks chettle! Very perceptive, I have indeed listened to Rifkin's rendition.

  • I like how you played the first section, with confidence. The rendition was fabulous and would be even better, if let your self be confident. 5 stars

  • Amazing! This version is much much better! Congratulations for the good work! Keep it up!
