Summer, 1983...a carload of buds cruisin' the Westheimer Strip in Houston at 2AM lookin' for a carload of chicks and this song comes blastin' on KRBE...cutting edge at the time..lol.....good times.
my band is opening for Bow Wow Wow on Jan 14th, 2012 at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA....through my band you can get tickets at a much lower cost than at the door or via ticket agencies and I don't charge postage or any other fees. Find me on Facebook, just type in Mark Motorcade and then email me for ticket info or go to the bands reverbnation or Facebook page..Hope to see you all there..Bow Wow Wow rules!!!
I used to drive my car all night (gas was cheap then) and hear this turned up all the way. KROQ used to play it, and no other station in Los Angeles did. Remember that? Imagine not hearing this anywhere else, but that was the difference between "rock" and stuff like this...imported from the UK and on small labels.
@powergirl901 I totally remember KROQ and especially the Rodney on the ROQ show! I was shocked to find out that the rest of the country didn't play the same stuff we had at home! I feel lucky to grow up in LA!
@powergirl901 Sadly KROQ is a tool for record co's to hammer top 40 for dull white people into listeners ears..i think Rodney is still on sundays at 2 AM or something. But back in the day..local punk bands...Ramondo and the blade..freddie snakeskin...
Wow..i'ts Summer, 1983 all over again....not a care in the world...to and from the beach every day...got Bow Wow Wow on cassette and cold beer on ice...good times.
Richard Blade - Rodney - Freddie Snakeskin - Hollywood Nighshift -

@powergirl901 I was in Los Angeles then - as less than a zygote,
that said...
This is, in my opinion, one of the defining bands the eighties...

I love this track and the 12" version in particular, however...
I refuse to rate any video that YouTube uses to advertise any useless crap.
They have used this video to advertise a chatline for black singles because they thought it was Bow Wow (the rapper)
I will boycott any product advertised by YouTube and I hope that others will do the same.
