I'm not going to say that your situation is fair or try to defend the tax system as fair. I think everyone should pay the same percentage, regardless of how much everyone makes. I will say this though, I bet my tax return this woman has used some kind of government program. Olive... you do have a point...I knew a guy that (after padding his returns)would pay approximately 6.5% of his gross salary to the Feds...he had new cars, satellite, projection screen TVs...nothing but the best. But he would constantly complain about the corporations that made all of the toys for him to live the good life. And of course, would only vote for the politicians that promised freebies.
