@0x00xMoex00x0 the camera didn't turn black, the dust was so thick and dense it literally blocked out ALL forms of light from as little as 3 metres away. I was standing on my back veranda in the worst of it and literally couldn't see my hand in front of my face even though the veranda light was on.
I was in Sydneyyyy. I woke up in the morning I was like FUCK whats going on outside ? Lucky I was there to see this. Not so lucky for the cleaning I had to do at home and at work later.
I live in Cobar and we got a dust storm the same day, but it was nothing like that, all we got is 50km/ph winds and a hell of a lot of dust in our eyes....but this is just insane.
i'm actually not that easy to impress but omg... THAT really scared me! How can it be all pitch black within seconds? I thought it was just sand and dust. It almost looks like all the light and the sky is being eaten.
I can't imagine how terrifying that would be, if you were inside and didn't know this was happening, then looked out the window and it's pitch black in the middle of the afternoon......
fuckkkkkkkk man imagin bein outside, ud like breathe all that shit in!... i live in echuca and the start of the vid is the worst dust storm ive seen to that equivilent... but then it just goes black! that shits crazy...
that is just terrifying. oh, and the people who insist on making fun of the woman who captured this video..do us all a favor and stop breathing air that can be put to better use by people who are not wankstains. jesus. 90% of mankind is useless these days. Thanks for posting, raynee.
That was from Olympic Dam, the uranium mine, as the co's like BHP don't get rid of the tailings from their unnecessary mine... Nuke power is not needed, wind and solar are better. Unless you put strong regulations on BHP etc, you are dead Australia.
I went to north broken hill primary school in 1986. In winter that year it was so cold and dusty the school buildings used to fill up with rabbits trying to keep safe.
i live here and we had dust storms like once a week for a month lol but then it stoped nd we never get em nd thats the first time in 60 years it actually went black so its happened before
Oh, im a local and was stuck in my car for about an hour before I gave up and just got out, did what I had to do and got back in. haha. It lasted soooo long.
"I'd like to see you prove that I didn't." Spoken like a true bullshitter. Well if you saw that, why did you say that they "must have been"? Answer: because you're a liar and are trying to smooth over your shitty attempt at Christian-directed humor. You probably lie about getting laid, too.
You realize that christianity stole a pagan ritual and renamed it christmas in celebration of the birth of christ? I'm not even going to mention the salem witch hunts or the crusades or the pillaging of native tribes around the world. If you don't like what I said then just ignore it.
Yeah because everyone who ever did something bad was a Christian right? How the fuck does this comment relate to todays Christians believing in demons?
You realise that Hitler and the Nazis were Atheists, and they crusaded through Europe burning books and intellectual institutions, attempted the genocide of the Jews and ultimately hoped to bring the world to it's knees. This was just over 60 years ago.
The Witch Hunts are long gone... which is more than I can say for the Atheist Nazi movement.
Must have been the Hymns. Or maybe it was the Atheist superiority complex where he saw anyone with any sort of Religious values, culture, etc. to be inferior to his Atheist glory.
On the Christmas subject, I know plenty of Atheists who put up a Christmas tree and exchange presents and take the time off work... wtf is with that? fuckin hypocrite arseholes. Next minute they're looking down on you and making mention of how pathetic religion is. Is it that intolerance that makes you so much better?
Its because christmas is about being with family. It was never about christ especially considering his birthday was nowhere near december. Being an athiest doesn't make you into a murderer overnight. It usually stems from the upbringing. Good luck with your beliefs as they are based on blood. If hitler was an atheist he wouldn't have been part of the thule society (cult).
Christ-mas was never about Christ? Are you fucking retarded? It commemorates his Birth, it's not his "birthday". Spend time with your family, sure. Just don't stick up a christmas tree with a star on top and then diss on Christianity the next minute. It's not like I rock up to Ramadan and start fasting.
The Thule Society believed in the creation of a supreme, Aryan race and their beliefs counter Christian beliefs in every respect.
Nowhere in the bible is war or violence given any blessing.
I hear a lot of it. Seems like all atheists think that because someone is Christian, they're automatically some sort of nut case. Also, I did use the wrong terminology in the attempted genocide comment.
luv, the essence of any religion is the founder, their teachings and how they lived, their example. Did Jesus hunt witches, crusade, pillage native tribes? If he didn't do those things, or teach to do those things, if he actually taught against those things, where does that leave the person who does do those things but claims to follow Jesus? Are they really following him if they go against his teachings? No. If I call myself a vegan but eat dairy am I really a vegan? Silly example I know.
what does this have to do with a dust storm video. Are you so desperate for people to hear your ideas that you need to post them on irrelevent videos? Start a BLOG or somethin
charlie, this is Youtube: relevance is not essential, I thought you'd know that by now. My comment was addressed to someone else's "irrelevant" comment further down. I see my comment failed to stimulate. It is actually quite apt (just not regarding dust storms) and well thought out- but I also appreciate that this culture of light emphasis on education and "thinking" of the brand espoused in the classical age is... well.... outdated. (That is definitely a topic for a blog).
oh yeah because the amount of tragic deaths and terrible injury is all that really matters. the event happened, and senaar2 was proving a point. that comment was unnecessary.
O.O_wow, that pitch black, red dust storm looks awesome, it's just amazing! I think something like this happens in mars also huh?:p this happens often all the time, I mean is it somethin usual from all the time, since always?... o.O
Yes i was there also, i was in class at school, we went outside and it was pitch black, it was like night time with a thick fog, you couldnt see 10 metres ahead of you, all i could see was the lights that come on automatically in the street at night! it was incredible, about 40 minutes. and yes all the elders are saying the same thing happened in 1967.

All I can say is fuckin' lol to all the cunts fighting over, "Hey, my duststorm is bigger than yours!~", "zomfg, nowai this blocked out the sun n shiznit!", "Ours blocked out the ozone!". That's pretty insane and shit but, I'd like to see how city folk would handle that sort of weather seeing as they were crying when they couldn't see the otherside of the bridge - traffic would of had to stop or someshit.
dead set mate all these fuckin sydney people raving on about the sky being red, i had a mate that told me he thought the world was ending. we get that same redness every week buddy!
yeh but sydney is like VERY far away from the desert in Central Australia, and for the dust from that far away to blow all the way to the cost is an event that doesnt happen very often
Fuck yeah that was an awesome dust storm we had!!! We didnt get fully dark but it was fukn sweet as dark!!! I want another one!!! Cleaning sux ball though!
Cont'd. I've read up on what has happened to Australian farming, and it seems like they also destroyed an area in about 60 years as well. I'm just amazed that they started of on the same path that lead to destruction AFTER the U.S. went through the Dust Bowl. Please protect yourself in these storms, your children, can have horrible reactions from breathing that in, and so can you.
Again, don't leave the fields fallow or they will blow.
Hiya Grylkool, Sage advise indeed. However in this instance Broken Hill is a long long way from the nearest crop... it's in the desert. Have a look at google maps or google earth and you'll see just how barren it is in the outback.
australians have no appreciation for the water they have and are careless with managing it. see the 'great artesian basin' for more sad details. most of our country is desert so theres no chance of fixing it.
Thanks for that. We'll be sure to pass it on to our farmers. We're always on the lookout for handy advice from well meaning Americans. If we didn't have you lot we'd probably be bogged down in some ridiculous wars half a world away and living in a world filled with unprecedented political instability.
Dear lord this isn't anything about the apocalypse. This has happened before (see the Dust Bowl). At one time London ended up w/ one inch of dust from the American West (that was the big one). This problem is fixable. Change the methods of farming, plant trees to conserve the soil, change the crops (look into sunchokes). This is a manmade problem, and Australia is not the first (nor the last) country this has happened to. We destroyed the Dust Bowl region in about 60 years.
5 million tonnes of topsoil and fears of DU (depleted uranium)blankets the whole east coast of Australia. Jar this dust and save it. It may be needed for legal and health complications down the track.
I was sitting in my car in Bromide Street when this hit. Had to pull over to the side of the road and sit with hazard lights flashing. Was rather scary - can imagine this is what the end of the world will be like!

Drivers in dustorms need to drive as in a heavy fog; low-beam headlights, OR with front fog lamps on.
Rear fog lamp should be on when visibility reduces <50m.

yeh but sydney is like VERY far away from the desert in Central Australia, and for the dust from that far away to blow all the way to the cost is an event that doesnt happen very often

Have a look at google maps or google earth and you'll see just how barren it is in the outback.

australians have no appreciation for the water they have and are careless with managing it. see the 'great artesian basin' for more sad details. most of our country is desert so theres no chance of fixing it.
makes me ashamed to say im an aussie sometimes

Thanks for that. We'll be sure to pass it on to our farmers. We're always on the lookout for handy advice from well meaning Americans. If we didn't have you lot we'd probably be bogged down in some ridiculous wars half a world away and living in a world filled with unprecedented political instability.
Thanks for the words of wisdom, champ.

It may be needed for legal and health complications down the track.
unclewooly 2 years ago
We don't need to jar it it's in our backyard!! We breathe it in every day.
emslillypad 2 years ago
It's not everyday DU gets unearthed. It's currently in my backyard also, And I live at the sunshinecoast

I was sitting in my car in Bromide Street when this hit. Had to pull over to the side of the road and sit with hazard lights flashing. Was rather scary - can imagine this is what the end of the world will be like!
