Wow.., glad I saw this review. Great job guys. I was considering buying this title.., but when you mentioned "center position" steering my excitement for it has really dropped. Curious though.., granted this game and a wheel don't get along well.., how does it play with the gamepad for say the XBox 360? It's selling new for $39 on Amazon..., and I'm wondering if it'll be a decent buy for gamepad play. I have a wheel.., but do use a gamepad at times (when I feel like kicking back).

No way. It is just from the 430 F1 Coupe and Spider because the Scuderia has the CT off setting and does not have the snow one. Big mistake, buddies.

About the Thrustmaster... contraption there... A controller is like 40 bucks and this is 250. It's not a controller. They should have added a power cord and given it force feedback, and the wireless thing is just a gimmick which is just adding probably 50$ to the price of that behemoth. Poor effort, I'd say. Trying to cash in their Ferrari license with whatever they can.

in the various racing games for PS3 steering wheel, once connected as external device, make available its menu of advanced settings for bats of the game itself?

I refer to the adjustment of the braking, the force feedback, the latency of the brake..

Hi all, I play a lot of Gran Turismo 5 prologue on my ps3 at the moment but with a normal ps3 controller. I am looking for a steering wheel for the ps3 and this fits the bill. However, does this wheel have force feedback or is it just 'drivable'? I like this wheel because of the way its built into the stand and does not ned a clamp. Which however is better, this cockpit/wheel or the logitech driving force gt (official wheel of gran turismo)?

reason v-8 superstars is an epic fail and still will be is because Gran turismo owns the simulation market right now. Forza is trying but is still 40 million sales behind. you have to offer more than 11 tracks and 8 cars. gran turismo has more than 1000 cars. the reason they take years to complete it is because they test each individual car to give it 100% individual attributes to simulation. all forza cars share the same simulation design thats why it feels weird. FYI

Hope black bean doesn't botch WRC, I've been waiting a long time for a good rally sim since RBR came out, and no one seems to be up to the task of dethroning the king yet yet. Really liked how you mentioned the tracks you tested the mod with, and would love to see a spotlight on a different downloadable track each episode after Top sim cars segment. I guess the "cockpit" is aimed at casuals, but the price seems real steep considering you can get a G25 for about that much, and a DFGT for $99.

I really can't see what market they're targeting this cockpit/wheel for. If theyre hoping to catch the casual sim racer the pricepoint is WAY off. When you pay that kind money you're looking for a solid wheel with FFB. I think it'll be a poor seller and they'll have to drop the pricepoint or stop making it.

Well thats good to hear, i won't get my hopes up too much but i'll keep an open mind, hopefully we'll be pleasently surprised. Really there's no point them bringing out an arcadeish rally game because they'll just lose out to Dirt 2. RBR physics and FFB may be asking a little too much but i'd be happy if they can get somewhere close. Im tired of otherwise great games getting ruined by bad physics and FFB like GRID, NFS Shift etc. Realistic physics with the option of driver aids is the way to go.

Damn, i was looking forward to the new WRC game, not now though. Milestone have clearly shown they don't have a clue about physics and FFB. Please do everyone a favour and just buy the rights to use the physics engine and FFB from RBR. There is a HUGE gap in the market for a complete modern rally sim, maybe SimBin should have a go.

Hi guys. I think one of the things that I have yet to see you guy get into is monitors/TV's. While a powerful system and great wheel are important it is my personal opinion that how you see the game may just be the most important thing of all. What is the point of spending all that money on a system when you have no clue how to properly display it. I would love to see you spend some time every so often on displays and rate those. I love the show and will continue to watch!

@simracingtonight The main reason for them not being too keen on pushing out monitors for you to review is that they tend to favour computer hardware sites like Xbitlabs and Anandtech to name some and not Sim racing sites like this sadly.

But then again, the guys at such places usually goes into great detail so they may be worth checking out anyway?

Regardless, I hope to see more wheel reviews and other sim gear from Simracingtonight, especially a look on using real car gauges as some have.

The pedals are the same as the ones that come on the FFB wheel we've reviewed and are nice. If the wheel had FFB and the same system as their F430 FFB wheel, it would kick ass, no question. Do you care how much degrees of rotation is has honestly ? We said it's marketed towards someone who wants an all in one portable wireless non FFB setup.

Even just for PS3 gamers, I can't see the value in that Thrustmaster. A DFGT is only $120 and a decent enough pedal/wheel stand could be had for less than $100, so you could save $30+ and get a far superior (albeit less pretty) combo. I think the 430 is for serious Ferrari nuts only.

I'll take this opportunity to ask about force feedback. I have a dfgt wheel and whenever the feedback force is somewhat strong (roughly 5/10 for most games) the wheel rattles kinda like a drill on a low torque setting. This is evident on gt5 when the wheel rattles all the time on higher grip cars and dirt 1&2. What is causing that rattle, and how can I avoid it?
