When you're straining you really couldnt open your mouth wide, because the muscles in your neck will push your jaw higher. I'm sure she's a lyric soprano which is the highest kind of soprano. Their voices are very light and high but loud that's why many would think they're straining. This type of voice is rare to have for a pop singer.

@912ysabel I have to agree that Charice is very talented for being able to rap, dance, and sing high notes like Regine. But being able to singing other genre and dance is not really a surprise to me. If Charice can rap there are other artists like Eminem, Tupac, Lil Wayne who really can rap. And if she can dance, we have Michael Jackson, Madonna, etc. So if we already have those people, why do we need Charice. What made Regine so especially than Charice is she sticked with her own style. TBC....

For those who don't know,this was her concert in celebration of her 20 years in the music industry.That night, she can barely talk because she's suffering from acute Laryngitis....we can really hear how husky her voice was.But when she started singing,she belts out all her signature songs with ease & greatness! I'm at awe on how good she was despite of her condition that night. After that evening,I was more convinced that she indeed is the "World's Greatest Singer" with or without laryngitis!

@justhititclose Have you travelled to those regions? If you did, you would know that is largely the case. There are very few examples of women (and men I should add) that can make it because their parents cannot afford learning English which is usually is not (well) provided in normal schools. The only exception is India, Burma, Singapore, and the Philippines. If a person is extremely handsome or attractive, s/he might luck out and marry a rich person who will help. Otherwise, the odds are small

Why are you keep on dropping charice's name here? She doesnt have anything to do with this. For your info, Charice can no longer sing her songs, try to check her latest video (TV5 christmas presentation) She was struggling and can no longer hit the right notes that she used to do. If you are a good singer, you should learn to step up the game and go beyond the boundaries to meet the expectation of your fans and supporters. Show business is all about entertainment and that's a fact.

@tuffythetiger You only think she's straining because it's sounds too high and loud. But watch her mouth. How wide and relax she can drop her jaw. When you're straining you really couldnt open your mouth wide, because the muscles in your neck will push your jaw higher. I'm sure she's a lyric soprano which is the highest kind of soprano. Their voices are very light and high but loud that's why many would think they're straining. This type of voice is rare to have for a pop singer.

Maybe you're speaking about the low notes in this song, those notes are out of her range and she has to push her vocal cords a little bit to hit them. But yeah low notes or easy notes are really hard to hit by lyric voices, but still give her another credit for singing this while sitting. That's too risky if you'd ask me. But still she carried it on.

@popups46okay Straining and singing high are two different things.You can sing low or high and strain, she is straining when she sings low and high, Straining and tension or using proper muscle strength is different from a tight and constricted sound.

this is one of my favorite songs and it's because of Regine..when I first heard it, I fell inlove with the lyrics, that day, I searched the lyrics and I began to memorize it by heart... and when I really understand the real meaning of the song... I cried when I sang this.. I really love this song.. and I think, that because of her. she's so emotional and it really touched me when I first heard it :) what a great rendition XD
