  • what is the purpose of dummy rounds in movies?

  • @xtianthadon

they are not used in movies

  • Spray paint man!!! That is all

  • i had some dummy rounds before. i had to send them home they was too stupid

  • How do u make 12 gauge dummy rounds I would really like to learn

  • SPORTS :)

  • you could tape round it and then spray the primer end.

  • @7151285 stop talking about airsoft queer. These are for real guns not plastic toys.

  • @SHOOTINGlead Those "plastic toys" are preferred over these training cartridges in the US military for training.

  • @sockschappercat umm definatly not ur an idiot! they use real firearms that fire a round called simunition which is like a bullet shaped paintball.

  • @SHOOTINGlead Really? army. mil/article/25860/

Here's a quote: "It gives them more realistic, outcome-based training," said Sgt. 1st Class Richard Hunt, module chief for the battalion. "Now they know when they get hit during a training exercise."

  • @sockschappercat read farther into that artcle! they are talking about simunition training.

  • @SHOOTINGlead No they're not, another quote.

"That's exactly what the Airsoft training program is intended to impart, said Company B's 1st Sgt. Chris Arnold. "This has a huge impact on training realism," Arnold said. "If you make a mistake during training, you know you've made a mistake."

That one's quite near the end of the article.

  • i thought that it whas nerf ammo

  • u should take a vid of ur self shotting them

  • @yoelomar111 You cant shoot them..

  • @miket1590 o lol

  • are thoose the same rounds used in the ninja glock? lol

  • this is a H 234

  • i thought this was simunition my bad

  • Where do you buy them

  • what's the point of dummy rounds?????

  • @7150285

    training

  • @GunWebsites training?? don't they use blanks for training? and how can dummy rounds be use as training...

  • @7150285

    watch the video

  • @GunWebsites i see, basically dummy rounds don't have primer and propellant, it's just like a completely fake ammo that's use for putting the fake bullet in the magazine and dry-firing them

  • @7150285 if you use blanks you dont know who got hit. Now, they are also using airsoft.

  • @ayellerbird or if u use paintball, that'll work as well ;)

  • @7150285 yeah; but airsoft is more realistic.

  • @ayellerbird yeah; but paintball can let u see where u hit them at

  • @7150285 yea and how exactly are all of the rounds ejected with out any gas to push the bolt back

  • @nickgor12

    that is the point

  • @GunWebsites someone is a bit dumb haha

  • @nickgor12 ...........?? what r u even talking about n why r u even telling me this??

  • @7150285 Dutch loading. Produces deliberate stoppages while shooting. This enables the shooter to practice stoppage drills. Weapons handling and manipulation is not just point and shoot. It's also running your gun like it's a part of you.

  • @7150285 Blanks are used normally in combat training where people actually are "shooting" each other. With them everything gets as realistic as possible without injuring anyone. There are also special simulators where everyone are wearing vests with special recievers and laser transmitters attached to guns that send a ray when gun is fired (with blanks of course). If ray hits the vest, you're dead/injured.

Dummies are used to simulate gun jamming so you can practice how to manage.

  • @LeegoDerbi lol you mean like laser tag??

  • @7150285 Exactly. They are really effective because by some statistics, training with these simulators give you about 50% better chance to survive your first combat.

  • @7150285 you mix them with live rounds so when you shoot it simulates "jams" or misfires

  • @iputacapinurass so it will automatic jam if the dummy ammo gets into the firing chamber right? and what do u mean by misfire?

  • @7150285 its when the primer fails to ignite the propellant

  • @7150285 so that people can get trained on how to handle them safely with out any risk of accident

  • @7150285 training, for beginners!

  • @kirbyrules2000 it stimlute jams huh?

  • what are dummy rounds?

  • @MrMp5k

yea.. I wish someone would make a video or something about them.. only them

  • @GunWebsites do i detect a hint of sarcasm in your voice?

  • @MrMp5k not real rounds

  • to make it faster i bet you could use a stamp pad ?

  • @dirtboy125

yup, that would be faster is that ink permanent?

  • @GunWebsites Depends on the ink. You can pick up permanent ink in many supply stores and replace the one in the pad

  • @GunWebsites it depends

  • cant you just use empty shells

  • @michoi2

not really, they would usually fit, but they won't always feed (depending on the gun) without a bullet

  • @GunWebsites so they hit you and you can still be living

  • @starwarsguy123ful they cant hit you because there is no powder to activate the charge, those dummies are to simulate jams/malfunctions in the gun, so they train to react to the malfunction, get it working again, then keep shooting regular rounds. Its muscle memory tactics so you can get faster at fixing jams during a firefight. -Please thumbs up to let the rest of the general public know what dummie rounds are made for.

  • @CheytacOps oh thanks i get here by watching a nerf ak-47 mod but thanks

  • @starwarsguy123ful well it can hit you, but it can leave you a mark. and sumarrizing what gunwebsites said, if aimed right. it can kill you

  • @PinoyPogiman yeah but why the bullets have those orange color j like they put on the nerf guns or toy guns that is like saying like they are fake bullest but they can kill you

  • @starwarsguy123ful well, they are easy to see. and also they are painted in heh...., child safe colors....

anyways we all see orange or any kind of bright flashy colors as a color of warning.

at least they are safer to use than live fire i guess....

  • @PinoyPogiman yeah they are easy to see in day light

  • @starwarsguy123ful yeah, its prolly to train with, like what BlankPicketSign said, you can arrange your rounds in such a way that may likely cause a simulated jam.

these rounds arent so unreliable after-all

  • so these dummy rounds actually have recoil but no projectile?

  • @sawyerbobby

no recoil.. they are solid plastic.. nothing moves

  • @GunWebsites wat about the military grade dummy ammunition,i heard those actually have gunpowder but its a dummy.

  • @sawyerbobby

what about them? this video is not about military anything

  • Comment removed

  • traning for what

  • @werty100995

    To use a firearm proficiently

  • @werty100995 for fly fishing...what do you think?

  • @werty100995

If you stack a magazine with both Live and dummy ammo such as...

    Live

    Dummy

    Live

    Live

    Dummy

    Dummy

    Live

It allows for the shooter to get in the habit of fixing their gun when it jams, or something goes wrong. It helps you learn the weapon easier

  • ★★★★★ Demonstration and Advice!

  • what kind are they?

  • many brands

  • @GunWebsites

are those the action trainer dummies with the casings? or are they a different brand. im looking into getting some high quality dummies and snap caps. and im not willing to pay the obscene amount of money a zoom wants for theirs. seriously. 16 bucks for 5 45acp dummies. no fuckin way.

  • @Lonewolf6565

Just not sure, I've collected these over time from various places

  • yes, we did use a rock to record this

  • I never thought of mixing inert and live to replicate a jam. Nice idea.

  • cool, glad the video helped like that

It helps you deal with malfunctions by reflex (fast)

  • @GunWebsites

that makes sense. could you recomend any good brands for snap caps or dummies that arent a-zooms or really expencive?

  • @Lonewolf6565

IMO they are all too expensive, they are simply solid lumps of plastic, they should cost $1 per dozen.. most cost much more than that..

We get most of ours when they are cheep, regardless of brand, and I am not sure of the brand names of all of these

  • hey, another question, im a civilian and was always told when you do encounter that click and no bang that you should wait a few seconds in case of a hang fire i.e. the round going off after you eject it. just wondering what do you recommend expecially for me being a civilian. should i do the standard tap and rack or wait that few extra seconds.

  • we are civilians too, we don't wait we clear and continue to fire.. might not be the safest thing if you include hangfires.. however I can't recall the the last time I encountered one, and then it was with re-loads

  • thanks for all the info. love all the videos

  • with the plastic dummy rounds. do you have any problems with them melting in the chamber or anything like that.

  • good question, they have never melted for us in semi-auto.. but I bet in full auto that might be an issue

  • where can i get them in bulk like in 15s

  • Try Brownells

  • i want some

  • what do you use them for?

  • Drills like putting dummies with live rounds in a mag (at random) to help get rid of recoil anticipation.

  • they work for this too

  • did you watch the whole video?

I mention in the middle somewhere that we use to cause malfunctions which causes us to react .. enforces our reflex to clear malfunctions without thought

  • great tips. keep up the good work

  • thank you

  • where can i buy them what brand are they

  • umm.. I've collected these over time, so I'm not sure where I got all of them.. but I think Brownells is a good start

  • good idea for traing,thnx

  • thanks, I hope these kind of tips help spark new ideas too
