im planning to get a nice overdrive pedal to put behind my seymour duncan twin tube as a booster or when i need a bit more umph do you think this will do the job
I'm looking for an overdrive pedal from Danoelectro, but don't know witch to pick. I am between the CO2 and the Transparent, they seem to be very similar. Can you tell the differeces between them. Or maybe a review with both.
@Nimrod9458 Its more of a Timmy Overdrive clone. This is a V1, they don't sell these anymore because Paul Cochrane, the owner of the Timmy, threatened to sue Danelectro for copying the Timmy. The V1 is known as the "poor-man's timmy". Unfortunately in stores you can only get the Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive V2 which is crap compared to the V1. :(
can someone tell me if there is a difference between the danelectro transparent drive pedal and the danelectro drive pedal? mine just says drive on it but i have seen ones that say transparent drive?
I really like this pedal with the gain rolled off to 9:00 at 2:44 in the video. Very nice! Can't say it's "my sound" for the higher gain sounds. I prefer the Danelectro Fab Tone. Well done none the less.
I am REALLY interested how it sounds to put the transparent overdrive and the cool cat drive before the cool cat fuzz! and before each-other! There is so much fun in combining pedals and using them on lower voltage settings with a switchable power supply :d
hey could you please demo the "paradrive" from "homebrew electronics" i'd really love to hear you play that and there is like 1 video on the web about that pedal.

How does this compare to the FullTone OCD pedal?

@hendrix950
This is very late, but if you want Dano's OCD clone that's the Cool Cat Drive. Not the transparent overdrive.

is this pedal kind of a great budget tubescreamer clone?

Danelectro pedals are nice, but just "nearly" good. Thinking by cost / benefit perspective Danelectro pedals are The Best.

This is a LOT better than the regular CC Drive.
And, by the way, your clean tone... WANT WANT WANT WANT!!!!!!!

Hi Rotren, very cool demo!!
How does this compared to Bad Monkey?
mexxmillion 1 year ago
@mexxmillion It has less overdrive and it's less dark. It has tons of output too, and I really dig the tone on this pedal.
