lol umm i just got back from a seminar with charmaine wilson and she was amazing. the media and television are the ones that will warp and toy with peoples minds. stop trying to prove people are wrong everyone and start trying to live your life and find your answers out for yourselves. i could have sat there and just been closed minded and of course they have hits and misses, but i speak for charmaine, and she really made me feel comfortable about my grief, regardless of whether its a crock.

If you want to see if pshycics are real then why dont you test yourself? When you go to sleep (normally) your mind goes to sleep and your body after, If you can learn to recognise and seperate the two things happening you can reverse the process, Mind awake - Body asleep, By doing this you put your conciousness into a 'void' of no time, Now you can see futures.

You don't know how many guesses she had if you didn't see them. She could have been thinking long in the other minutes. If you really want to know about psi check out Sheldrake and Radin's work. A much better show was America's Psychic Challenge, it was a much better example of psychics.

@Robikus That is not how they work. They have an audience. I have corresponded with someone in the audience and they tell me that they did not sit around "thinking". They did not broad cast every guess. I don't know exactly how many guesses they had - but I can estimated it.

And Ms Whitedove made some predictions about 2008 US presidential campaign in Jan 2008 -eg Dick Cheney will die before the 2008 election and Condoleezza Rice will run for president. Neither of these happened as far as this Aussie remembers. So she aint real hot

@thettguy I think they leaned on Whitedove to win since she was more popular and there was a prejudice against Jackie. Jackie's challenges not only showed her to be gifted but also shows that personality plays a role, in the 'warm fuzzy' areas dealing with animal and the like she didn't do well, but other than one crime scene challenge she was generally spot on. Psi is never 100% and some are more gifted some more practiced. But it's always going to have misses at times.

If PSI was real then hundreds of physicists and biologists would be studying it because it would such a fantastic new bit of human knowlege. Instead you have two cranks that work on it and get some minute result and call it real. If psi was real everyone could read minds because the evolutionary advantage to the organism would be huge.

If you want to impress me show data or show me where the data is wrong. Name calling is a bad way to make a point. Prove what you say is true, don't just bad mouth scientists.

@Robikus Who has repeated their work? If what they say is real then there would be a zillion scientists on the bandwagon because it would be a game changer. But other scientists just look at their data and say "is that it?". Their data is weak and not worth persueing. And btw their data has no relevance to what the people on "the one" tv show claim they can do.

@Robikus My proof is - where has all this wonderful research led to? Where is the followup on Sheldrake's dog who can sense when its owner is coming home? They do this supposed ground breaking research and then it goes no where. If Sheldrake's dog was real he would be publishing papers all over the place examining how the dog does what he does etc. But we don't. Why? I know why because when you look hard you end up with nothing.

@mrcooldude964 ::Psychics normally do not deal with those who are possessed, which is the ministry that you have described. You are lumping two different situations together that do not match. In the bible story you referenced, the spirit of divination was not evil. Good for you if you have power of exorcism, but you need to get away from the bible and understand the situations you deal with in a psychological sense.

@mrcooldude964 Spirit guides are dead people who have accepted and have been trained to work in this field of guiding humans still on earth. Your knowledge of the bible is limiting your understanding of the afterlife. You need to read something like "Life in the World Unseen", which you can download free from the internet. Don't make the mistake of believing the bible is the know all-end all source of knowledge. It is wrong in many different aspects. See Bart Ehrman's "Misquoting Jesus".

@mrcooldude964 The bible is not clear on this. Is it "absent from the body, present with the lord", or is it "the dead know nothing" The reference I gave you is not the only one I have. The bible speaks to me of just going around in circles. Evidence from NDEs suggests that the 'judgment' is the life review that most of them have.

Some sects believe that you are dead until the 2nd coming and resurrection, but the experience of psychics and NDEs put that to the lie. Bible = deception.

@mrcooldude964 ::: Like a lot of things in the bible, there are opposing arguments. The theory is called "soul-sleep", the verse they use most is "the dead know nothing". The theory is that you die completely and do not arouse till the 2nd coming.  There isn't much in the bible that is really clear.

@k0smon You are right the contemporary christian belief about the afterlife is not clear. Actually, the bible does not say "absent from the body, is to be present with the lord". There is not mention of "heaven" either. There is a mention of hades or "sheol" (hebrew) which refers to the place of the dead. According to a parable (rich man & lazarus) in the gospel, sheol (or hades) contains a good side and bad side. It is belived that "paradise" is the good side of hades.

well, for one, you've made many assumptions .. like how you assumed he never had any hits outside of what they replayed. Its too hard to make a proper analysis without going further. Like dancing classes for young girls are common, but is it something central to their family life? Who knows?

Well, I do say that I "estimate" the hit rate. And I do make my assumptions clear. So I think you are nit picking. I also think the asumption that they broadcast all the hits is a pretty good assumption considering the nature of the program. But anyway - you can look at cases where the show explciity counted the hit

The point is that dancing girls are common - esp in the post-reality dance show era. So I am not too impressed by this guess. I scored it as a hit and it goes in the - very poor -stats. But I am not impressed - are you?
