For spells like restoration, setting the difficulty to Master would enable you to get more exp per cast. But just don't take on a giant on Master if you're low levelled. :P

Please read and thumbs up so people know! You don't have to get hit by guards to level up the armor. You should find a giant snd let it hit you! It works faster and no bounty is added.

You could also find a brawl and do it that way and might not be as fast but still effective

well i leveled heavy armor with my mage by wearing full plate and playing heal the damage with a giant... it hurt but duel casting heal let me do it fast enough on adept...

on a note to my previous comment my resto stat was rather high and i had most of its perks so, dont try this as a lowbie...

Or you could find a group of NPCs in the wilderness, kill all but one, and not have to waste potions, or merely idle for a few hours.

hey just an idea i found instead of that you could use summon familer and just hit it a few times cause it will attack if you hurt it and wait till it dies/runs out of time cause it hits very low and not that often. its slower xp but safer and easier (costs 92 magika) but if you by the conjuration perk for that level of spell it cost half that.

Just allow yourself to be hit by giants

How did you manage to make friends with them again after all that? Is it just a question of putting your weapon down and agreeing to be put in jail?

@monsterfunc If you sheathe your weapon, they will stop attacking and if you are the Thane of the city, you'll probably be able to go free without any consequences
