Pardon my cynicism, but I have to question the legitimacy of your run, just down to the fact you played on an emulator which allows you to use save states.

@blainyrules Same happens with my Lv 1 Run, which was hard as well, getting exact points and items for my party. Although if someone else uses save state is literally the same thing as doing reset. Try to imagine that with Kaizo Mario World or any other hard game or challenge.
@blainyrules why is that i have the Aussie pal version which is essentially the uk pal version and why isnt it possible i am attempting to do it right now i bought it off the psn store im 5 hrs in onto disc 3 y isnt it possible? please xplain if i should stop ignore the bad grammar i wasn't bothered to type correctly

@MrOlaolala About the time 9:44:15 in time, i simply followed EssentiaFour's Speedrun. I didn't really care about to reach any equality stuff with her run, i wanted to get Excalibur II no matter if it's not a perfect game, also i enjoyed it, because as many people that have fails, i failed in my first time getting it because i reached 12 hours after entering Memoria .w.
About the question, i dislike newer FFs since it went out of place with the term of RPG. I'm a retro player,
@moa373 Play to get the Excalibur 2 is extremely hard if you don't have accuracy at many spots and experience. You should play this game at least 3 times to could memorize and have relation with it.
I played this game 6 times.
2 were exploring the game and trying to catch most items.
1 was a failed Excalibur 2 gameplay
2 were sucessful Excalibur 2 gameplay, in PAL(10:50:32) and NTSC(9:44:50)
Man, in my FFIX save I had all the Cards, All the Chocobo treasures, defeated Osma, got all Eidolons, All Armos and Weapons EXCEPT this excalibur II, because in my time (distant 7 years ago) there where no precise informations on how to get it or if it was even real. Now, I only lament...
@Thirras88 As i know there's a perfect game playthough around youtube, you should try out o: Obviously recorded from the game itself with a TV recorder.
It's not impossible to get there being level one. You just need the right equipment and have to run from all random encounters. It'll suck because it's hard to gain a lot of AP for abilities minus the Fairies and Boss battles.

I did do it, but only cause I was too lazy to grind on the game. I just went through it with my friend. Wasn't a challenge or anything. I like playing these games for the elements of gameplay and the story. I still adore the visuals in FFVII. A remake would be nice, but it may not surpass the original.

Maybe you didn't know, after having played 99 hours, the game timer will be reset!
Time starts anew at 00:00, so you can easily get the sword, too ;)
