  • HarryHayesMusic Thanks. I didn't know the band put out 2 different covers simutaniously.

  • Spent my dinner money (75p) on buying this album off my friend back in the days of Grammar School!

Wouldn't sell it for £75. Many, many years of enjoyment.

    Awesome!!

  • @GibsonFlyingFive Great to hear this track again after all these years - your story sounds familiar - are you sure it wasn't me you bought it from, agreeing the deal in the Physics lecture theatre? Probably not, but you're not on your own, remembering it that way!

  • that intro is so exciting can you imagine how it felt on its release? super stuff

  • DON'T.

  • I die for this ....

  • The cover they have for this album is not the original. i don't like it. The original has a rooster on it.. The rooster was either like an alarm clock or some kind of rocket, I can't remember. I love this song because it is the best jam tune on the album! John get to really do his stuff here and I love it!

  • @1qaz2wsx3edc5753 WRONG !

  • @1qaz2wsx3edc5753 I have the rooster rocket cover with some kind of gauge on the rooters head. I think this cover looks great, wish mine had it.

  • @1qaz2wsx3edc5753 the original cover did have an alarm clock,,on a nuclear warhead,,also the rooster mane on the backof what would have been the head,,anyway,,atomic rooster

  • @1qaz2wsx3edc5753

you're thinking of the american LP cover man, it's a rocket with a rooster's head on the end.................fuck the 70s were trippy hahahaha

  • Hi, I have both LPs. This 'Blake' cover is the English one. The 'Rooster at Blastoff' the American.

  • @1qaz2wsx3edc5753 Actually, what you see here is the original cover, chosen by Vincent Crane himself. It's Nebuchadnezzer after his fall, as depicted by William Blake. The cover with the rooster was the American Elektra issue.

  • @1qaz2wsx3edc5753 . I have the original and ya its a rooster art rocket with clock thing just google atomice rooster alblem photos and you will see it there ...I would post it here if I knew how , I agree the original is way beter ..

  • Great band!!! Highly overlooked.

  • I had this album and played the scratchy-sounding record on my cheap turntable+amplifier system forty ( yes 40 ) years ago and it sounded f*****g good !

I am listening to it now through this digital Internet connected streaming whatever and it STILL sounds f*****g good !

The 70's was spiritually blessed with good music I am sure.

  • The drummer has some groove going on, there must have been something in the water back in the seventies...

  • The drummings none too shabby either lol

  • I liked them then ...I like them now!

  • super cool

  • Ooohhhhhyeeaaaaah

  • DuCann fuckin' rocks!

Note to Jann Wenner and Rolling Stone: update your fuckin' list and add this guy.

  • @tp10488 If you are talking of guitarists, then yeah you are absolutely right. I am listening to this for the first time in my life and the guitar is absolutely out of this world. She needs to add Manny Charlton (Nazareth), this guy, and a bunch of other epic guitarists like Zal Cleminson, Billy Rankin, Chris Holmes, George Linch. My personal all time fave is Manny Charlton.

  • yeeeeah

  • kewl tune! :o)

  • these were bands !!! not the shit they produce today, idol ect pure crap

  • I grew up on this stuff. Saw them in Indianapolis in the 70s.

Vincent Craine one word only WOW!

Thanks for putting it up here.

    THB

  • hey, I love his toes lol.

  • Brilliant stuff, great DuCann's guitar solo... that's why I love Atomic Rooster.

  • Hey, Kentishbloke, we meet again!

Remember when we used to buy LPs for their cover art alone (Yes!, ...) sometimes with the bonus of great sounds, ...?

  • @chrisburchardt Oh yes...had to have the 'right' album under our arm lol

  • sorry I wanted to give you thumbs up and fumbled the wrong key..I am not vincent crane for sure

  • No problemo, amice!

Thumbs is there for fumbling, and I'll all thumbs today ... Cheers, nor am I ...

  • This whole DWBY album is awesome; even Black Sabbath knew about the heavy sound back then

  • So glad I found this! ! ! Lost over a thousand LPs in fire in '86 and this was one of them---along with 'Time Take My Life' album. Always wanted to do this with the bands I played in and now--even at 49-- I'm going to! ! ! Plugging in guitar, now...........

  • That my friend is why I do what I do on here..Delighted to have reacquainted you with a brilliant tune ..Tim
