I saw this in the theater opening night (on Good Friday, too, haha) and it did in fact kick my ass. I haven't been to the movies since. I don't think I ever will go again, as this movie gave me the movie experience I was longing for all my life. GREAT review James. To all of you out there-- get the Bluray - it's the full theatrical version complete with fake trailers and TONS of extras. Totally worth it, and cheap, too.

Death Proof wasn't as cool as I thought it would be. Sure, it did have a gore kill scene in the middle, and an awesome car chase in the end. But be honest, other than those scenes, the rest was soooo boring! The rest was girls trash talking and saying stupid shit that isn't even funny. I waited for Stuntman Mike to kill them so he can shut them up. But no, he dies by those annoying bitches. Is this movie really directed by Quintin Tarantino? Reservoir Dogs is more entertaining than this movie.

if you werent lucky enough to catch this in the theaters, put it in the blu-ray, turn on the surround sound, have a nice big TV (atleast like 40 inches), and invite over like 4 or 5 guy friends. This is the perfect guy movie, its gore, explosions, tits, and ass. What a masterpice.

1:59 Do not exist yet at the moment. Indeed, the first trailer Machete's coming out, you obviously know that by now. I'm glad some people got what this movie was all about, but sadly and of course not everyone did, and was therefore split into 2 separate movies which really isn't the full experience. But yeah, I absolutely loved this, and I don't normally like long movies. My girlfriend liked Planet Terror as well, though she has yet to see Death Proof because of the damn split.

Robert Rodriguez tried too hard to make Planet Terror a grind house style movie. it was just too over the top w/ the gritty film and random cuts and shit. i think Tarantino did a great job w/ Death Proof. yeah there's a lot of talking, but it didn't lose my interest. i'm not sayin Rodriguez is a bad filmmaker but sometimes he tries too hard. especially w/ Planet Terror
