  • I just ordered one of these. Now we play the waiting game.

  • Did you have anynithing inside your bass drum? it sounds amazing! :)

  • Great sound on your toms! Kick could use some adjusting, but surprisingly good sound out of somewhat low-end mics.

  • I'm liking the sound you got from these mics. Did you put any EQ or compression on the recording?

  • Do you use anything to dampen your toms and snare? I was just wondering because it sound very 'dead' for birch...

I am also considering buying these drums would you say that they are the base for their price on the market?

  • The tymps sounds really good! How did you tuned them?

  • No low cut on the recording mix... =(

  • nice pearl

  • Sounds gorgeous! What mics are you using?

  • how did you get your toms sounding so nice, i have this kit but mine sound pretty bad, what heads are you using?

  • @dropsykes

    It's the mics.

  • i think im gonna get the aaxplosion crashes, do you think this would be a wise descision?

  • where do i need to put in my drum microphones ?

  • hey! TAMA-SABIAN. my combo..!

Sounds like tama and sounds like Sabian..

  • what tunings for the toms, I have the same kit but you managed to make them sound nice and fat sounding.

  • is the ultra deep bass drums 20" x 22" or is the normal bass drums 18" x 22" ?

  • @conejolu

    I think it's 18 x 22.

  • holy crap! those sound amazing

  • is that actually you playing the drums on there?

  • they sound well nice especially the toms, is it a rock kit or a fusion kit?

  • @JoeH757 I don't know actually. I think I would call it an allround kit :)

  • @Wille2k your toms are too big for it to be a fusion kit, i have the standard superstar fusion kit and my toms are much much smaller, but yea, im getting this kit in december, thanks for the vid, sounds beautiful. (:

  • @JakeDrums69 Ok, how small are your toms then? 8-14"? Thanks man :)

  • @Wille2k yeah they're 8"-14" man. I'm getting the 7 piece of this kit at £1300m i cant actually wait XD , expect some covers up soon man, peace!

  • @JakeDrums69 Nice. Yeah, it's all about what song I'm going to record.. :P

  • @JoeH757 its deffinatly a rock kit man, nice punchy toms that are ment to be HEARD!!! mines coming in soon!

  • @JoeH757

fusion kit with a large rock bass and additional large 16" floor tom, which makes it great for rock too

  • @JoeH757 it sounds like fusion to me

  • ahhh i love the sound of your drums!!!

  • @fimjolk fast du insåg jag att du va svensk så det va ju lite onödigt att skriva på engelska

  • those sound tits, man. thanks for micing the set

  • Are those 100% birch shells?

  • @Zynpar09 nope theyre mixed with basswood

  • ive got the same kit in brushed mrtallic black:) if u havent listed already, what type of aax's do u use?

  • @IxImetal4lifeIxI I have added my entire setup in the video description now but just to make it easier for you I'll tell you right away:

    14" AAX Stage hats

    16" AAX-Plosion crash

    18" AAX-Plosion crash

    20" AAX Stage ride

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @Wille2k thanks a lot :) i pretty much want your entire cymbal set up, but instead of a 16 i want a 17.. with the extra hardware and the cymbals how much did it cost?

  • @IxImetal4lifeIxI Well, I bought my kit/hardware and my cymbals at different occasions. When I bought my drumkit all the stands I needed was included except for one boom stand which I bought for about 90 Euoros. The cymbals costed me about 800 Euros. So the "extra hardware" for me was only one stand ;)

  • @Wille2k thats about 1100$ dollars... thanks for your help :) keep rippin the drums (Y)

  • This kit sounds Amazing!!! It makes me want a Tama set so bad!!! and the AXX cymbals are great too!

  • what kind of wood are those?! very impressed!

  • @themegachris1 The shells are made out of Birch. Thank you!

  • @Wille2k i have pdp x7s with maple shells. the are more explosive instead of warm as yours. i like the way your kits sounds though! how did you tune you bass drum?

  • Best way to tune the toms(MY OPINION) is to keep the heads the same! Top and bottom identicle! I also tune from top lug to bottom, and then back up top to the next left lug and continue till you work your way around! Tighten the lugs by hand(MAKE SURE SAME HAND DUE TO THE FACT OTHER HAND MAY BE STRONGER,OR WEAKER)! Start out by turning the lug 2 full turns to start, and complete every lug, and same for bottom! Once done you can tweak it from there!

  • wow, hoping to get on off these kits in the same colour . . .and the same cymbals :D did you use any microphones to record this ? if so which ones ?

    Thanks

  • That's awesome, man! :) Yes I used these mics:

    1 Shure PG52

    1 Shure PG57

    3 Shure PG56

    2 Joe Meek JM27

    Thank you!

  • Do you liek to tune the top slightly lower pitch then the bottom?

  • Yes I do :)

  • Comment removed

  • Did you tune your toms and snare to any specific note? You see I just got the set myself, and am having a difficult time tuning the toms and snare.. :(. Any feedback would be appreciated

  • nope, I just tuned them until I thought that they sounded good. If you are bad at tuning drums, just look around the Tube and search for some instructional vids. Good luck!

  • Am i hearing the factory heads on those?

  • Yes you are :)

  • man that colour is great on that kit. im getting it in the sugar white colour this week and i cant wait. nice kit man :) and nicely tuned too

  • Thanks! You won't regret it.

  • Just AWSOME, i always new sabian AAX cymbals were the best sounding but i never new hyper drive drums sounded that good. Now im definatley getting a hyperdrive kit!!

  • Thanks man, that's great! :)

  • wow sounds so cool. i really looking forward to my superstar hyer drive

  • Yeah, they're really nice! :)

  • What kind of mics did you use? What configuration?

  • I use Shure PG52 for the bassdrum, Shure PG57 for the snare snare (batter head), Shure PG56 for the toms ( the 16" floor tom is not miced) and two Joe Meek JM27 overheads :)

They all go through a Focusrite Saffire Pro 10 i/o sound card and then into Cubase Essential 4! :)

  • what crashes do you use they sound awsome:)

  • Sabian AAXplosion 16, 18" crashes. :)

  • the cymbals sound beautiful!!!

  • thank you :)

  • I really want this kit now. With my job I'll have to save for at least a year. I'm really bad at tuning, will it still sound ok?

  • Haha, that sucks! It is a quite easy kit to tune so it shouldn't give you a hell to tune, but you do have to know the basics of tuning. I'm not a king of tuning myself and i managed quite good I think :) Hope you get the money because it's a really awesome kit!

  • hey, i have the same set, except 5 peice instead of six, i have a question though, when you're playing in this video, are you playing the drums as they came? or did you put new skinks, or put a ring control around each tom, pleas let me know, 'cause on my set i have way too much vibration and echo

  • They are pretty much as they came and I have the original skins on them. No dampening what so ever on the toms and a pillow inside the bassdrum.

I would say that the "echo" and overtones that you get probably is because of how you tune them. But my toms still has kind of a "ring" after I hit them but it's nothing that sounds bad in my ears.

So just try to tune them as good as you can and I hope it will get better!

    Good luck!

  • thank you for you're time!

  • go to Guitar center and get something called moongels. Put them on the batter head of your drums (except bass) and they reduce the extra resonance A LOT without killing volume or tone. I have used them for 4 years, love them. couldnt reocmmend them highly enough to anyone.

  • thanks alot, i will go to my music store tomorrow and purchase them, thanks for you're time

  • i don't know if this will work... but you could try using moon gel to dampen your toms to get rid of unwanted echo.... or its probably worth a try anyway:P

  • Really nice sound - great quality recording too, thanks for this! I've been looking into buying this.

Can I ask what measurements you use and where you bought the kit? :) Cheers!

  • Thank you! :)

22x18" bassdrum, 10x6,5"and 12"x7" rack toms, 14x12" and 16x14" floor toms and 14x5,5 snare. I bought it over the internet on thomann cyberstore.

I think it's cheaper for you to buy a similar kit in the UK.

    Cheers!

  • the kit sounds AMAZING even with the stock heads on. the bass is one of the best ive ever heard XD deffinitly gonna make this my next kit, in sugar white of course :) cheers Willie

  • Thanks man! Sounds sweet, you won't regret it. My kit isn't in sugar white if that was what you meant. But the Sugar white looks pretty awesome too. Cheese, Superman!

  • Little bit of Assassin at the end, I like that ;)

  • @helpimafishable Really? I didn't know that :)

  • well i finally got an actuall demo of the aax's now cuz the sabian site wasn't tht helpfull. even though they are. but i'll see these 4 the ear at guitar center or my other music stores

  • I didn't really understand what you mean but I hope that my little soundcheck helped you! :)

  • @Wille2k it did! thnx

  • great! Np :)
