both are great cars! In stock form Type R is amazing. Just add intake manifold, high flow filter, header, mid pipe, racing muffler, and piggy bag the ECU it will break the 240ps of RR, with just a couple thousand dollars of investment. Of course, do uprate the chassis and brakes.

There's no next corner to cope with, it was a big constant radius but sharp corner followed by the main straight. at the track I often go practice and race, there's a similar corner. I can take a what I would call a less aggressive racing line or I can late apex. But his apex really feel a bit too late to me !

ITR is nice, but it's still only good performance-wise compared to other Honda's. I used to be a fan of Honda, but now I realized everything but the NSX and possibly the S2K is rubbish in the performance world.

I would say the DC2 was the most successful Type R. EK9 was underpowered. The EP3 was... ugly, but good. The DC5 was good but took Honda a long time to hammer out its ugly ends. The FD2... Honda looks like they finally got it right. I know it's 50% stiffer than the DC5, yet I cannot figure out how it is faster than the DC5 with 5 more HP and being considerably heavier. What is this sorcery in the FD2R...

its not that fast to be fair, for the price of the mugen rr, its defo not worth it. the type r is very fast and would be unnoticably slower except on a track. I'm not taking it away from the mugen rr, it looks fabulous and it IS fast, but i think you are paying just too much for too little.

IMO the Type R's are in a different category to an Evo. I'd more put it against the Mazda 3 MPS, VW Golf GTi, and other tuned, front engined, front wheel drive cars. Everyone knows the Evo's true and only competitor is the Impreza WRX STi. Though the Mugen RR doesn't appear to be that much faster than the Type R, it actually is since it has more power, adjustable dampers & various carbon fiber bits to lower weight.

Plus only 300 RR's were made so its super rare, hence the price tag!
