Your steps are unneccesarily numerous. Outlining in graphite. Replace outlining a section at a time with appropropriate color. Many layers of shading, always light to dark. After work is completed, wipe with a tissue to remove wax build-up, repeating several times to eliminate it.
I wish this would had been done in steps rather then " you do this ( show picture) then this ( shows picture) And finally this! ( shows product) and now you can do this all on your own but probably wont get the same results!"
@Ironyumi5 Watching other people draw won't teach you how to draw. DRAWING teaches you how to draw. He could show everything at normal speed of him doing it and you wouldn't learn anymore from that video than you would from this one. It's only when you pick up the tools and do it yourself that you actually learn!
@zippythewildone I learn best personally when I work as I watch someone else working, so I can understand the need to see someone drawing instead of just pictures, however, the pictures do give an idea of how to use these techniques
As a stand alone video this is not detailed in its explanation of these processes, but when used in conjunction with his book "Creating Texture in Colored Pencil" it makes sense. Thanks for the post!
@dishy200 The darkest value of the color, meaning the darkest yellow you'll use on this picture (in case of yellow). Same applies for every color you need for the particular work.
Can anyone tell me the difference between Prisma Colouring pencils and Polychromos colouring pencils...is one better for blending than the other?....and what about pigment content of each?
Prisma are wax based and very soft.. Polychromos are oil based and harder.. The harder, the better for details. Which one is better for you is something you should try out.
I really like your layering and burnishing, i really liked that part. You should come see my video of me color penciling a cat. click my user name and you can see it there. Thanks again!

not 100% sure I understaood. You're saying you apply the darkest shade of each color first and progress to darker colors right?
i.e. dark yellow, light yellow, dark orange, light orange, dark red, light red etc?
