  • album version is far more angry than this

  • dieu que c'est bon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I fucking love this song!!!!

  • 1:38 amazing scream

  • Beside You In Time = BEST THANG EVAR.

  • i wish u could hit like, a million times. or have a LOOOVVEE button. lmao!! my #2 fav NIN song. <3<3<3<3

  • When the drums come in i want to kill someone

  • this song doesn't make me angry....it helps get my frustration out. i listen to it at top volume, everytime it comes on!!

  • @mssjeni1 Hell yeah! It helps get you pumped up!!!!

  • Hearing the name of the song alone makes me piss my pants with adrenaline and go to the nearest zoo and beat all the tigers to death with my earlobe

  • I underestimated the power of this song the very first time I listened to it. After only the second time through I had changed my mind about it - it fucking rocks, and the live version proves it.

Broken, bruised forgotten sore. Too fucked up to care anymore!

  • @bopptb Oh yeah, and the opening synth sequence is fucking sick.

  • This song makes me fuckin angry too! Fucking love this song!!!!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • trent put down the screen on this song to keep back all the pigs

  • Rampage music. Yeah, this makes me want to go on a rampage.

  • Most of Trent's lyrics are WAH but the music ARR! It's really great music to listen to when you're pissed off at some bitch.

  • @ComaAlpha definitely

  • Trent might have the best scream in all of Rock and I'm not fucking around.

  • Best song ever!

  • When they opened with this song during the Summer 2006 tour, they pretty much brought the fucking house down. The power of Trent's vocals and Josh's drumming was pretty surreal.

  • Goood vid, wave goodbye version is better :)

  • i think i could kill someone after listening to this. 10 out of 10

  • I don't like the kind of screaming he uses here =/ there is no power.

But I saw Somewhat Damaged off the last show (1 week ago) and this is FUCKING AWESOME.

  • This version is great but it just does not do justice for the version on the CD. Just not as brutal and dark. But still kicks ass.

  • this song makes me realize how much my parents really fucked up in raising me.

    awesome =)

  • THis version is very good however the old version is very stoned too

  • is this on the bonus features??

    I didn't ever notice it

  • fuck, this song make me angry, just listening to it.

  • the most anger trent shows the better

  • WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU!?

  • as in, 'where the fuck were you', what is not to understand ?

  • Why don't they ever play this when I see them live!!!

  • Because it's a bit of an emotional song for him

  • that's a dumb answer, AGENT24. I think it would be safe to say all of his songs carry emotional attachment

  • As dumb an answer as you may think it is, it's a reason he's stated in interviews for several songs about his grandmother. So you can go tell Trent it's a stupid answer.

And no, not all of his songs carry an emotional attachment, because they are not all written from his heart. Because he wrote concept albums, it is easy to guess that not all of them mean all that much.

  • Is this sampling "Now I'm Nothing"?

  • lol, great ears. it sounds very similar

  • Ironic you say great ears, cause I'm made fun of for them haha. Random I know but just saying. Anyway, I love both this song and "Now I'm Nothing".

  • don't let it get you down. YOU have great ears.

  • Thanks

  • Is this Sept 2006 Mountain View CA?

Can Trent possibly get any more perfect he is absolutely amazing.

  • you went to that show man, your pretty lucky. i wanted to go to. i wanted to see the bauhaus to :/

  • who ever said its a jazzy bass line is retarted, thats clearly a guitar. you hear bass at 1:50

  • love this version of the song...

it got a sample of now im nothing at the beggining of it...

  • LMAO @ 0:56

    "the jazzy bassline"

Idk why I find it funny, maybe cuz the original song is so angry and that bassline just makes me filled with joy, lol.

Don't get me wrong, it gets goin' at 1:15

NIN - I'm lovin' it more than McDonalds

  • hhe dosnt do this song live much these days. :(

  • 3:24

watch that part. trent's jump is amazing!

  • I love this song. I would love to hear it live. It's just so... intense.

  • ''I personally like

    "Broken, bruised, forgotten sore,

Too fucked up to care anymore,

    Poisoned to my rotten core,

Too fucked up to care anymore"

Lyrically this has to be the best song ever for Trent (IMO the best NIN song ever...) ''

    Seriously ??

  • Nah, I think either Into the Void, Closer or The Big Comedown are the best, but it is all down to opinion really.

  • As far as instrumentals go I would say La Mer. Just how it starts so simple and builds and builds and all mixes so well.

  • hahaha dimmu borgir

  • how could I ever think it's funny how everything you swore would

never change is different now like you said you and me make it

through didn't quite fell apart where the fuck were you?!!!!

  • why?

  • so completely crazy-ass fucking good. This final "where the fuck were you", god, its just incredible. One of the best, with Eraser/Hurt/Closer/Reptile/Last/Were in this together and so many others... yeah long list.

  • fuck the rest and stab it dead!

  • I personally like

    "Broken, bruised, forgotten sore,

Too fucked up to care anymore,

    Poisoned to my rotten core,

Too fucked up to care anymore"

Lyrically this has to be the best song ever for Trent (IMO the best NIN song ever...)

  • it's definitely jamming as fuck

  • SHIT!!!!

    THE SONG SOUNDS BETTER LIVE

  • This is possibly my favourite NIN song

  • I think this is a lot of NIN fans' favorite song. It's the best song on their best album, so it's natural, I guess.

  • i can agree with that

  • i was here, trent, i was right here.

  • do they have the glass in front of them for the whole show?

  • God this song rocks 5 star opener for Halo 14

  • except me. I have it too :]

  • so do i

  • and me dumbass!!!!

  • i have byit woodstock 94 and atchb live cd so i tripple own yous

  • kkkkkkkk

  • I have them and CLOSURE. Suck it.

  • the dvd is the shot trust me :) audio&video

  • I don't think the guitars are coming through quite as much as planned, but still fucking awesome show

  • does anyone know where this show was filmed, because i believe the show was a the gorge in wa during sasquatch 08. That show was aweseome!!

  • *sasquatch 06 typeo

  • I remember hearing this song live in 06, ohhh man it was so intense, the whole crowd singing along

  • awesome intro. watch him play somewhat damaged back in 2000 and it's hard to deny that this version blows it away

  • Wow. I'm so impressed. Trent sounds 4000 times better than on the CD.

    <3

  • what? i find all his live performances have much more emotion to them than the album versions

  • Not since he got off the drugs, tbh. It did wonders for his music, even if it did fuck him up beyond belief.

Musicians should be prepared to sacrifice their well being for the greater good of the awesome sounds... Think The Fragile, his best album, released at his worst time...

  • Ok, ProjectSikotik, you're basically saying that you'd rather have Trent Reznor die because of doing drugs to make more "emotional" music when he's much more happier off of the drugs making more positive music that is just as good of music compared to all of his other albums? Well, if that's so... then fuck you and go to hell.

  • I think both are great, though they're somewhat different.

  • i like the cd better, the echo live makes it really crap.

  • damn it just gets better every time

  • I don't like the new intro, but it is nice they started playing it again.

  • the sound is so fucked up... it's probably because the original version is designed for a surround system ( DTS prob'ly ) and so it sounds bad after compressing to stereo ( what i mean is that there are almost no guitars, or they are wayyy to quiet )

  • the dvd i have of beside you in time doesnt have this song. why?

  • pirate

this song is the first in the additional content...inside Summer Tour something like that xD

  • cauze..this song is in the "suplemental con"

    xD

  • Uh.... What? This wasn't on my BYIT DVD. Is it hidden in the extra features or what?

  • It should be on the 'summer tour' option. Somewhere in extra content.

  • Well I'll be damned..... Thanks a lot man.

  • I don't think this one is better

The all that could have been version contains sound effects, wich makes it more agressive.

This one's just some upwarming, while hearing the older one, makes me go mad, just in the beginnnig of the concert

    that's my opinion

  • You know, I read somewhere that there was a hidden part to that DVD, never found it though. Was this on that hidden part by any chance?

  • IF you mean AATCHB there were quite a few hidden easter eggs. One was of Reptile live, another had Starfuckers with Marilyn Manson. After STarfuckers Mansons stays and NIN plays Beautiful People with Manson singing. Totally sick!!!

  • AWESOME

  • Even though Trent's screaming, was well...different lol. He still pulled it off to make the song intense as hell for the audience, imo.

...and yes the old one is better.

  • yeah usually nin is better live but you couldn't hear alot of it that well.

  • Trent won't play Sunspots because he is afraid it will strain his vocal chords ...

listen to how he screams in this lmao

  • old one is better

  • this intro is terrible

  • dumbass

  • a nin fun say that manson never gonna be above nin, a manson fan say the opposite of this, I say that they are both great ,and there are things in both of them in which they are better than the other. (sorry for my poor english)

  • Manson is never gonna be above NIN. He's no God, a god isn't created. Reznor created him.

  • Everyone knows that he created Manson...

Can't we still enjoy Manson's old albums?

  • OLD albums. Maybe if he tried to sell his music instead of an image. That fool.

  • Very true, he practically admits it in his autobiography (which is a fairly entertaining read). Without Trent, Marilyn would never have gotten past Portrait. Trent wrote the notes to half the songs on AntiChrist, including his biggest hit, 'The Beautiful People.

  • I think every artist is inspired by another artist and needs the help of another artist.

Plus, I think Trent can handle his music by himself now. He's incredibly talented and has a basic idea about the music industry.

  • oh undoubtably, maybe i meant without SP trent mightve been playing classical piano

    and concertos or something else

  • Yeah...he would've. Down In It (inspired by Dig It) was his first song and it was what started his career. But then again, he listened to Kiss when he was young.

  • didn't everyone? :)

i especially loved their monster movie

  • lol

  • You seem to be forgetting that he was in the new wave band Option 30 before he started NIN ;)

  • Manson make good songs like [s]AINT and Coma mOBSCENE by himself, didn't he?

  • Manson needs trent back.

  • Trent = awesome. he needs to do more songs with Manson, though. Those two were great. Though, Trent Reznor can make damn good songs himself.

  • laughs so hard, if it wasnt for Rez there wouldnt be a Manson manson is just a rez wanna be that will never get there. Yep he does some decent stuff sure, but he isnt REZ

  • Seriously true. Mansons ONLY amazing work was with Reznor direction... The rest is just barely better then mainstream...

  • somewhat damaged, the perfect opening of a NIN-show! this is amazing..

  • What a band! I wish to god other bands would start making some decent music out there. gimme tool, nin, pantera, Fuck the rest

  • i believe this might have been recorded with the dvd set to "dolby surround" which is why the guitars as very quiet, they dont come out if you listen to it in stereo, and of course this video is either encoded in stereo or mono. if it were on "dolby stereo" at the time, then i think theyre a fair bit louder

  • ...didn't quite, fell apart, WHERE THE FUCK WHERE YOU?

  • at sasquatch 2006 at the Gorge in washington

  • my god

  • Seriously, I love the studio version but this sounds quite weak in comparison.

  • this isnt on the dvd is it??

  • it is. it's in extras, in the summer 2006 preformances.

  • Fuckin' love that song to death! Shame most of the quality is taken away on this from the dvd!

  • totally awsome
