  • Mr. Gravel, thank you for having THOUGHTS, keeping an open mind, and being a reasonable human being. Has anyone SEEN an "Above the Influence" commercial lately? They're getting ridiculous... lack a reasonable argument, facts, clarity, or anything better than, "If you smoke weed, you loose all your friends and people think you're a loser". No hard facts. Lord knows you could come up with a more than reasonable argument against alcohol. I'm rambling... good job people in charge! (sarcasm)

  • it would lower the prices. growing marijuana without the legal risk of getting busted. even with the added tax onto marijuana, it would still be a lot cheaper. i heard that if they legalized it in california they would add a $50 tax per ounce. ounces would be a lot cheaper though.

  • Legal to grow, but not to sell. Obviously we would rather a world where laws were not necessary by any mark, unfortunately the man-made world is built in confusion and sufferance, based on oppression and greed, a house can't stand long on bad foundations, good will topple evil, ini will live in the light of everlasting truth and see the wrong path taken, once again corrected. When this happens is up to us.

    Great idea and everything, except when you watch the news and see how many murders and kidnappings takes place in Mexico largely because marijuana is illegal.

    It's ignorance and greed that has kept it illegal for so long, and you can't honestly tell me all the problems prohibition causes is something to "chill the fuck out" about.

    It's one thing to have an opinion, and it's another to spread filth you couldn't substantiate to save your life.

  • I'm in favor of marijuana being decriminalized, but with some restrictions. In the same way that you can be arrested for having too much alcohol in your system you should be in trouble if your thc levels are too high. It shouldnt be available for anyone under 21...although we're likely to end up with kids under that age getting it anyway like they do with booze. Sell it in liquor stores like Gravel says. We would have a new multibillion dollar industry in a time of recession. Win/win IMO.

  • I am fully aware that you cannot ingest a fatal amount of THC, but if you have enough in your system then you will be impaired to the point where you shouldnt be driving, that was my point. If it inhibits your reaction time then obviously thats a bad thing if someone pulls out in front of you. Please put some thought into your responses before you curse and pointlessly flame.

  • You're aware of nothing. You're completely ignorant and only want to impose more useless regulation on people for the purpose of something that is simply that not true.

    There is a tremendous amount of information out there that suggest people drive extremely carefully when high. How many times on the news do you hear about DUI's having to do with just marijuana? The answer is simply never, and if so, alcohol was also consumed.

  • But implementing regulations like you suggest, you put police in a position as to where they can discriminate against whoever they please if they judge they're "too high".

    Besides, THC content differs from not only plant to plant, but how you're ingesting the marijuana. There is no practical way to regulate THC like alcohol, and it doesn't even matter.

    It's swayed idiotic logic like yours that made marijuana illegal to begin with.

  • If your driving impaired, regardless of what chemical is in your system, then you are endangering other drivers, period.

    If people were a danger driving while high, we'd have statistics displaying trends that suggest this.

    Tests have shown people drive more cautiously when high and are more alert. (Especially sativa high)

    I play FPS games high and my reaction time is significantly higher and I react much more calmly to surprising stimulus.

    There's tons of chemicals in cow milk, are people a hazard drinking that?

  • i agree with mikemayea. You cant overdose on marjiuana and it doesn't impair you vision.

    THC simply heightens your senses which is the high feeling you get. It does make you more cautious and alert which is probably a good thing whhile driving.

  • It should've NEVER been made illegal in the first place, where do we see in history of people being arrested for this plant or any other BEFORE 1937 when the FEDs made it illegal. No man or woman was prohibited from putting into their body what they wanted before the 1900's, the prison industries make big money, its simple, drug legalization would end a lot of gang activity, murders, robberies,violence,theft,ect. the govt. knows this, we desperately need a 2nd American Revolution.

  • I agree with PokeSAV16.  Let the government cage human beings who eat junk food, because that's bad for them too. And nevermind the fact that, according to Ron Siegel, humans have a universal drive to seek mind altering substances.

    So let's have the black market produce and distribute these substances so that there may be more black market violence and government corruption because for gosh sakes drugs are bad, mmkay.

  • Legalization of any drug is a bad thing.even tobacco. but i think pot should be legalized just cause of the simple fact alcohol is. But listen the goverment uses harmless drugs like POT to make money off of citizens. pot never hurt anyone. To the goverment... do u really wanna make a change?   • i don't smoke pot (used to before), but hey - why is alcohol legal and weed is not? i mean alcohol can sometimes be more dangerous than some chronic (ex. drunk driving kills people). But then again legalization can lead to some other issues...

  • What would these issues be by chance? The underground drug trade is what makes marijuana dangerous in the first place. With unchecked sales, manufacturers can produce a product with unnecessary chemicals and excess levels of THC. If legalized, the underground trade would become obsolete, prices would drastically drop, and the entire practice would become publicized; there would be a legal age of consumption and kids have only a very small black market to turn to.
