Ron Paul has good ideas - smaller government, fine. Simplier taxes, fine. But he thinks that the constitution is somehow magic and will work things out just fine. What a moron. Someone should tell this idiot that under his precious constitution, we had slavery, child labor, scab labor, sweat shop labor, wide spread poverty. It took huge efforts each time to remedy such evil things -- and morons like Ron Paul stood in the way of those corrections, each time waving the constitution.
Of course there were many problems with the constitution. Thats why it has been amended. But you have to understand the central message of the document. The message of a free people in a republic with a limited federal government. The message of freedom and prosperity. It was the first time in history that these ideas took shape and thats important.

Like I said. That's why it has been amended. The constitution is just a basic guideline. It is the responsiblity of Congress to denfend those guidles by writing laws and enforcing the constitution. I think you should read the constituion with its amendments.
Also, you can be a "strict constitutionalist" and support amending the constituion because that's how it should be done. The problems come when we write laws without amending.
Real -- I had hopes that you were logical. Are you mental? DO you want a constitution 10,000 amendments long? Cause thats what your plan would do -- we dont pass laws, we pass amendments? We want a food safety law (read this history of food safety), so we have to pass an amendment? Are you nuts? We need an amendment to set a speed limit? We need an amendment to pass requirements to license doctors? Think, boy think.
I'll say it again. You seem to misunderstand the purpose of the constitution. It serves as a basic guideline. When the constitution says that we have the freedom of speech, the Congress must enforce that principal through the bills it passes. We don't need 10000 amendmends.

Ron Paul doesnt know history or economics. He thinks that the constitution is somehow magic and will work things out just fine. What a moron. Someone should tell this idiot that under his precious constitution, we had slavery, child labor, scab labor, sweat shop labor, wide spread poverty. It took huge efforts each time to remedy such evil things -- while morons like Ron Paul stood in the way of those corrections, each time waving his own interpretaion of "constitution".

So basically you say that socialism or big government will distribute wealth better then the free market? But so did progess -- like getting rid of slavery, getting labor rights, getting saftey laws. If Ron Paul and his morons had his way, we would have no labor laws. No federal safety laws. I took plenty of econ course, and history courses. I suggest you read history and learn logic.

Just because it doesn't enumerate those rights as explicitly as you seem to like (see "Life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness"), doesn't mean the constitution contributed the complicity surrounding slavery.
