You should get the 4850, reason being... Like why get a higher end card, If you think about it, Graphics will never EVER get better than they already are, this card in crossfire beats the GTX260 and is alot cheaper, also its crossfireX enabling you to have 4 GPU's at once, next is the nice look, it looks very great comparing to the 4870's.. and it's also a one slot card.. this card is basicly in my opinion the best card for the 200$ price, think about it dude.. The graphics really are at climax.

I think it should be said that although this and other cards support Tesselation (aka Subdivision), no games actually use it. Some tech demos do, but few people will ever run those more than once. Parallax mapping and displacements will still make all the details in characters and/or environments in the near future.

It ends up at 80 degrees if you do a Furmark bench. It really is not a very good heatsink. I believe it is made of steel, actually. It is virtually identical to the generic heatsink, but it is isolated from the memory.

Why not have 2 GPU's on 1 card? Look at the GX2, it has 2 GPU's on 1 card and all the benches I've seen, the GX2 performs THE SAME or BEATS the GTX 280 in all the games, so why not go dual GPU? And barely beats it!?!?!!??! Everywhere I go, practically every benchmark I see, The 4870 X2 beats the GTX 280 with High Resolutions and AA on by 10-20 FPS, and you don't buy a 4870 X2 and play on a 15" monitor.
