  • Happy to explain -- I am jumping him bridle less (His first time jumping this way) with only a strap of leather around his neck which kept slipping down too far hence the forward movement to lift it up. It isn't inhibiting his movement or freedom at all over the jumps as you can tell by his neck stretched down and forward. I am releasing over the jumps but not as much as with reins because there is no need to do a full forward release when there is no risk of catching him in the mouth.

  • May I ask why your hands keep running up his neck after jumps, almost like your throwing your hands up? But your hands dont give him freedom while over the jump allowing him scope? Not being rude - just wondering if there is a reason for it?

  • Physically he can jump around a hunter course calmly, but the judges won't place you because he doesn't jump like a hunter. He gets the job done and is a great horse to learn on but he doesn't have the finesse that hunter judges look for
