but...what do you do with them? do you set them on display,or are they just keepsakes to be put in a box....? not trying to be rude in any way, but whats the purpose? :)
Hi, I was just wondering is that Fimo polymer clay you are using? If so, could you tell me where you purchase them? I'd like to try my hand at making delicious looking cakes. By the way, beautifully delicious yummy looking cake, and wonderful tutorial! I loved watching it. ^__^
THIS!!!!! in 1964 13 year old Elisa Johnson was raped and murdered in North Carolina, her body was found with multiple stab wounds, and now that you've read this, every night she will come to your house and hang from your closet with glowing red eyes, the only way to stop this is to post this to 10 other videos. im scared of chain letters sorry :'(
clays and ovens are different. It depends on a lot of factors. Premo is 30min per 1/4 inch, but Fimo is 15min per 1/4 inch. The baking time isn't scientific. If it comes out of the oven and it's hard...then it's been baked long enough. I've never had a problem with under-baking. I've over-baked a few times though.
Actually, it is scientific, seeing as it's a man made product. If your product is underbaked than it is more likely to crack if dropped, but I guess if that is what you enjoy making them that is all that matters :) Goodluck and they are adorable little cakes.
I agree with Sindasha. The hardness of your baked cakes doesn't necessarily mean they're fully cured. if they're underbaked, the polymer in the center that hasn't been baked will eventually eat away at the baked polymer, causing it to crack and in general fall apart. It doesn't happen overnite, but with time. Not something you want to risk, especially if you are selling these.
The details provided by each manufacturer are tested to be the correct settings in order to ensure the best results.
Thanks so much for this video! I've been wanting to make food with polymer clay for ages and now i know how to make a really realistic yummy looking cake :)
Hello...i wanted to know if the polymer clay needs any baking in order to become hard? And where can i store my clay after i had open the package?I'm not so sure as i'm just starting to learn this...T.T thks
yes, as it says in the video, it needs to be baked. The package should have specific heats and instructions. Store it in an air-tight container, like a plastic box.
u r so talented. that looks so awesome. i was just wondering if u had any advice for someone who is new at this. like what kind of materials are absolutely needed? how long does every piece tend to take? much would be appreciated. thanks.
fancy tools are not necessary. Often the only things I use are my hands and maybe a toothpick or a needle. Sometimes other things around the house can have interesting textures as well. The only thing that is essential is the clay. each piece is unique to you and to itself. I couldn't really say how long one takes. They take me about 15 minutes if I know what I'm going to do.
Love your video... been doing a few cakies myself for the past few days... I have combined it with another tutorial I found on the net! Thanks for sharing the how-to! :)
TOOO CUTE! i have a question, how do you mix the watercolor with the polymer?, because when i mixed that i spend a lot of painting and the colour of the polymer is too pale
polymer clays are already colored and to make new colors, you just mix the clays together. there's no reason to add paint. in fact, that sounds really messy!
so cute. i love to bake and would like to try my hand in making another medium... polymer clay. your video is very helpful. hope you can post more video tutorials of polymer clay projects.
ummmm hi im a very big lady but i didnt know that you cant eat this very good instructions but you should really put on there that you cant eat this you said it was choclate bye

You don't bake it long enough. Isn't it for premo 30 min for every quarter inch. Your cake is about an inch so should be baked longer.

I used a clear gloss at the end, but if you mean the bottles in the still photos, those are just little decorations from an old barbie playset.
