  • Hey, I went to your Etsy site but no items popped up. You should call them about that.

Super-adorable cake! This is the first craft video I sat watching, riveted. :3

  • you can also use the puff fabric paints for the icing

  • Where can i find that? I couldn't find it at hobby lobby.

  • micheals :)

  • or walmart thats were i found mine

  • Have you ever done "American Girl" size? Meaning, 18 inch doll size?

  • I love it! Great tutorial =D your cake was adorable

  • that is so amazng. you very lucky =[ i can not make a clay cake.=[

  • That's a really nice cake. :) Thanks for sharing!

  • Nice work!

  • thanks!i have always wondered how to make icing and you just taught me with your video

  • Umm. nope. I did look at photos of some real cakes online for ideas, I think.

  • You don't bake it long enough. Isn't it for premo 30 min for every quarter inch. Your cake is about an inch so should be baked longer.

  • clays and ovens are different. It depends on a lot of factors. Premo is 30min per 1/4 inch, but Fimo is 15min per 1/4 inch. The baking time isn't scientific. If it comes out of the oven and it's hard...then it's been baked long enough. I've never had a problem with under-baking. I've over-baked a few times though.

  • Actually, it is scientific, seeing as it's a man made product. If your product is underbaked than it is more likely to crack if dropped, but I guess if that is what you enjoy making them that is all that matters :) Goodluck and they are adorable little cakes.

  • I agree with Sindasha. The hardness of your baked cakes doesn't necessarily mean they're fully cured. if they're underbaked, the polymer in the center that hasn't been baked will eventually eat away at the baked polymer, causing it to crack and in general fall apart. It doesn't happen overnite, but with time. Not something you want to risk, especially if you are selling these.

The details provided by each manufacturer are tested to be the correct settings in order to ensure the best results.

  • youre an amazing sculpter

  • I love your video it is awsome!!

  • This is just adorable. Thanks for the videos.

  • make more of these how to videos they are fantastic

  • but if i wanna cover the sides of the cake as well, how do i do it? great video btw!

  • Thanks so much for this video! I've been wanting to make food with polymer clay for ages and now i know how to make a really realistic yummy looking cake :)

  • cute! too bad it's not edible! it looks yummy!

  • Very nice...

  • very lovely work. :)

  • great tut, only the music is distracting next time leave it off while recording. When are you going to fimo some small birds?

  • Okay~thks very much ebola~~~

    =)

  • Hello...i wanted to know if the polymer clay needs any baking in order to become hard? And where can i store my clay after i had open the package?I'm not so sure as i'm just starting to learn this...T.T thks

  • yes, as it says in the video, it needs to be baked. The package should have specific heats and instructions. Store it in an air-tight container, like a plastic box.

  • u r so talented. that looks so awesome. i was just wondering if u had any advice for someone who is new at this. like what kind of materials are absolutely needed? how long does every piece tend to take? much would be appreciated. thanks.

  • fancy tools are not necessary. Often the only things I use are my hands and maybe a toothpick or a needle. Sometimes other things around the house can have interesting textures as well. The only thing that is essential is the clay. each piece is unique to you and to itself. I couldn't really say how long one takes. They take me about 15 minutes if I know what I'm going to do.

  • thanks for the advice. it was very helpful.

  • Thank for the tutorial - I hadn't thought of using a child's toothbrush to get the effect on a cake - will be giving that a go real soon!

  • Love your video... been doing a few cakies myself for the past few days... I have combined it with another tutorial I found on the net! Thanks for sharing the how-to! :)

  • TOOO CUTE! i have a question, how do you mix the watercolor with the polymer?, because when i mixed that i spend a lot of painting and the colour of the polymer is too pale

  • polymer clays are already colored and to make new colors, you just mix the clays together. there's no reason to add paint. in fact, that sounds really messy!

  • :( im' from Chile, and in this place i didn't see the polymer in colours

    but thanks!

  • Nice, helpful tutorial. You did a great job in squeezing it into the 10 minutes allowed. :-) Thanks for sharing!

  • what clay brand do you use? :]

  • I really liked the cake you made!!

But what I can't figure out is where you get those little plates...

    Any advice ??

    Thank you

  • they're old Barbie accessories. or you could make them out of poly clay too.

  • That's a good idea! Thanks :)

  • What song is that in the background? Sounds really familiar.

    Your cakes are neato :)

  • this was so helpful! I just started using polymer and I love it but I need help! lol thank you for this!

  • It is very cute~

Can i know what did you put at the end?

What is the white bottle things? ..

    Thank you~

  • I used a clear gloss at the end, but if you mean the bottles in the still photos, those are just little decorations from an old barbie playset.

  • I didnt know you could mix colors.

  • to get the frosting around the cake to look like that did you twist it?

  • yes. very gently :-)

  • so cute. i love to bake and would like to try my hand in making another medium... polymer clay. your video is very helpful. hope you can post more video tutorials of polymer clay projects.

  • This is so cute, thanks for making this video!

  • how cute

  • where did you buy the polymer clays?
